Chapter 2 - Dragon slayer

My spear pierced the scales of the teen dragon who roared, because of the spear that was lodged on its hind leg that unexpectedly caused it actual pain.

"Damn human how dare such an insignificant creature like you attack my beautiful body" the dragon said as he roared and let out a breath of fire from its mouth destroying part of the water bed.

Fortunately I was able to dodge the attack in time, to not be hit by the attack directly, but because I had to move, so suddenly that my spear ended up braking.

"Fuck" I exclaimed as I tried to run around the dragon, to retrieve what was left of my spear, but before I could do that I ended up getting slammed by the tail of the dragon, launching me straight into a tree.

"Pesky human, today you shall see what happens when someone weak like you tries to attack someone so great like me."

While the dragon was extremely arrogant like most of its kind, it was still a fledgling, so it did not have the strength yet to kill Julian off in one shot unless he went all out, which it would not do unless it knew its life is in danger, simply because of its pride.

ROAAAAR

The giant red lizard fired another fire breath this time with more strength, causing almost all trees in the range of the attack to be turned into ash.

I barely managed to dodge the attack but, because my body was old and unable to react in time he ended up loosing my left arm to the attack.

Thankfully, it was a fire based attack which caused the wound to be sealed, preventing any blood loss, but the injury basically incapacitated a major portion of my body.

"Huff" I panted and ran towards the exhausted dragon, who clearly didn't think I would dodge the attack, and ended up using too much mana in the previous attack.

While I was exhausted I still didn't have any intentions to give up,adn as such I ran towards the dragon and, this time ended up successfully taking out my spear from the dragon's leg. The moment I drew it out, the wound started to bleed like crazy which brought about a wide smile to my face, which soon turned to a frown as the dragon once again tried to smack me with its tail.

I thankfully managed to dodge the attack as I jumped up, as another one of those attacks would have certainly ended up killing me.

The jump managed to land be upon the dragon's back which I used to my advantage and used my stab the dragon right in the eye with the remaining part of my spear.

ROOOOOAAAAAAR

The dragon screamed in pain, and I pulled out my spear for another attack before I saw the dragon casting a fireball at me. I dodged the attack and ended up back in the water. Now with the dragon half blinded I used the cover of the water to launch my last attack straight at the throat of the dragon with the intent to take it down in any way that I could.

The dragon tried to dodge the spear, but it still managed to land on it, as the lizard had already lost too much blood causing it to have gotten remarkably weaker.

The dragon tried to launch another fire breath at me as it knew that it would likely not last for long, now that its throat had been stabbed.

Seeing that the dragon intended to take me down with it, I decided to throw everything I had at it to make sure it died.

I decided to shatter all the stars of mana I had formed and pulled out all the mana it would generate straight to the tip of my spear that had pierced the dragon's throat to cause a mana explosion when it would launch a fire breath.

AGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAR

Both the dragon and I screamed as we launched our own suicide attacks to kill the other.

BOOOOM

The mana explosion happened the moment my raw mana and the dragon's fire breath collided with each other, launching me straight towards the water fall, while the dragon had exploded into pieces as the explosion had happened inside the body of the creature.

The entire spring had been colored red, with the blood of the dragon. My entire body had gotten burned from the explosion, but I was still covered in blood, not mine but the dragon's, and as such I walked towards the gate and sat down with my back placed on the wall, as the dragon's blood slowly dripped down the gates, and I slowly lost conscience, returning into the peaceful embrace of death.

'Ahhhh peace at last' my final thoughts resounded as I had a barely discernible smile across my lips, as I had barely managed to kill one of those fuckers. Despite the cost I had done it, which caused me great joy, enough to numb the pain of having my entire body be burned.

Meanwhile, as Julian had lost conscience, and was moments away from death, the gate finally began to open.

Beyond the gate was a room with a single source of light.

The light came from a man, he was chained to a wall akin to a crucifixion, but to the wall.

He had long golden hair that covered his face and, porcelain white skin that showed the many scares on his body.

"Dear dragon slayer, it is much too soon for thou to enter the embrace of death, oh successor of mine" he said as he looked at the body of Julian that had fallen onto the ground once the gates had fully opened.

Looking up at the ceiling of the cave he spoke once more, "by mine name %$$#%^#$ I bid thou father time to fulfill the warrant we had made centuries prior"

A white light appeared at the words of the golden haired man, and from it came a voice, "%$$#%^#$ are thou knowest of this decision, as the repercussions of this is something beyond e'en mine abilities"

The chained man spoke once more as he looked at the light with his hair covering is eyes, "Worry not great father, for I shall be the one to guide him, such that he shall bring no qualms to the realm of the gods"

"Well son if thou so summon , then consider mine promise to thee fulfilled" the light responded as it flickered away in the darkness.

The golden haired man spoke as he looked at where the light was a moment ago, "thou hast mine thanks"

The light that had been coming from the crucified man slowly started to disappear, as his hair transitioned from a bright gold to a dark silver, his skin began to shrivel up, and his head became unresponsive.

In a room inside a castle with a tree by its window, laid a young Julian who started to wake up to the sounds of the birds, and his alarm that had begun to ring.
