Chapter 24

Cassidy knew exactly who it was and she told him that it sounded like her ex Nick and she played him the voicemail that Nick had left her in about the threatening phone calls right after their wedding. The cop wrote down all the information and told them he would contact them when he found out more and handed Max's card and walked out. For the past hour Cassidy I've been trying to figure out what was going through Max's head. How are you feeling sweetheart Max ask? I feel a little worried and tired and hurt. What if I am pregnant Max is a baby okay?

Cassidy I'm also worried but right now you are my main concern is you and that you were okay. Maxed it up and walked over and laid on the bed with Cassidy and held her until the doctor walked in with a smile on his face. I have good news for you two I'd say you are about three and a half weeks pregnant. The blood work looks good but I need to send you down for an ultrasound so they should be here shortly to get you. Thank you doctor was all Max could manage to say. He could see the look of worry on Cassidy's face so he just held her until ultrasound came and got them.

Cassidy laid on the bed and the nurse put some cold jelly on her stomach. Max spoke up. That isn't going to hurt my wife or baby is it. No sir the jelly will help us get a good look at your little peanuts in our said. As she ran the scanner over Cassidy's belly and a picture came up on the screen and then they heard the faint sound of a tiny heartbeat. O Max and Cassidy could do was stare at the monitor then all of a sudden the nurse kept going over the same area and then said something that took Max and caste both by surprise!

I have exciting news for you too. Do you see those two things that look like peanuts? They both said yes in unison. Well you're having twins. Congratulations and everything is measuring right so I'd say you were due and 36 and 1/2 weeks. I say your due date is October 28th Max and caste both looked at one another and couldn't believe they were having twins.

Once they were back in the emergency room the doctor came in and said everything looked good in that Cassidy could leave but she needed to follow up with her OB. As they were waiting on her discharge papers Cassidy asked max if he wanted boys or girls. Cassidy I don't care either way as long as you and the babies are okay and healthy.

The nurse came in with the discharge papers caste sign them and all the hospital they went. As Max helped cassidy into the taxi and God and himself he directed the driver to the airport. Sweetheart I know her honeymoon isn't over until tomorrow I want to get you and the babies home safe but I think we will fly to Sylvia's tonight and stay there until I have the house check and security put into place.
