Company

The current Chen Kaori sighed as she stared at the product logo she was working on the computer screen before her. It was for the new look of a local toothpaste brand. She thinks there is something amiss about her design, but she could not put her finger on it.

She managed to ignore He Zifeng's online updates and focused all her attention and energy on working.

Bei Yang's advertising compamy is just a small fry in the industry, but they managed to sign contracts with medium-sized businesses and delivered good outputs. Therefore, the company is not famous, but they manage to keep it afloat.

As she was zooming the design in and out, the office phone rang.

Bei Yang answered after putting down his coffee and introduced the company over the phone. "Yes, Sir. This is he. Uh, yes...we can make design drafts for you to choose from...uh, which company is this again, Sir?"

Chen Kaori blinked as Bei Yang paused there like a statue for several seconds. He was still holding the receiver over his ear, but he stopped talking, mouth gaping. She tilted her head for a second, was about to push herself up from her seat to check what happened.

Just before she did, Bei Yang seemed to come back to reality and was chuckling.

"Yes, yes, Sir...we will be glad to meet with the marketing team tomorrow. We look forward to work with you! Thank you! Thank you...for trusting us with this project! Alright, Sir. Good day! Bye!"

"Eh...good news?" Chen Kaori asked him with a smile.

"Kaoriii!" Bei Yang dashed towards her as she stood from her seat. Then he embraced her tightly as he laughed.

Chen Kaori chuckled as she was squeezed. "Ehrmm...tell me the good news..."

He Zifeng tapped on his phone to make a call.

"Sir, the Blink Company accepted the offer and agreed to meet us tomorrow."

"Alright. Dissolve our internal advertising team now." He Zifeng ordered in monotone.

"Sir?! But...we might have to compensate all the members with a hefty sum if you fire all of them without prior notice."

"So? Do we not have enough to do that? We will collaborate with an advertising company. Won't if be wasteful to keep those useless idiots in the advertising department?"

"But, Sir..."

"I gave them multiple opportunities to redeem themselves. They have rotten ideas. We have yet to shoot a new ad since Chen Kaori left. What good is it for the company to still keep them?"

There was a pause, then Assistant Jiang replied, "I will make the memo right now, Sir."

He Zifeng sighed after ending the call. His company was about to launch a new set of products, but all the proposals for its advertising looked garbage.

With his connections, it was easy to track down Chen Kaori's new job.

Finding out that she was still in advertising gave him the idea of signing a contract with this small company.

He Zifeng opened the box on his desk and held the shampoo bar to examine it.

He had the idea of turning his shampoo products into bars when he held the soap dish Chen Kaori gave him. He knew shampoo bars were beginning to be popular and recently sold by small businesses, claiming they are better for the environment as the move will reduce the use of plastic bottles.

He Zifeng met with the chemists in their factory and discussed how to alter the consistency of their best-selling formula so as to relaunch it in the form of shampoo bars.

Once the new product was done and tested, He Zifeng reduced the orders for the plastic bottles and placed orders on organic packaging.

The next step was to make an eye-catching design for the packaging. However, his advertising team gave him designs that looked like they were done by a primary school kid. The colors were off, even the fonts were disastrous.

He was previously set on not bothering Chen Kaori, but it was a crucial time, and he knew he needs her.
