Chapter 18: The Truth Is Finally Out

Chloe cried along side with her mum as she told her the story. "Mum,I'm so sorry that you have to pass through all this alone"."I know it was very difficult to take care of me alone since I was a baby and till now...I'm very grateful"Chloe said.

"It's alright love... it's destiny"Lisa said. "I can't still believe my dad did all this...there must be a reason for this since he loved you a lot and I'm sure he still loves you"Chloe said."I hope so..."

Lisa said.

Chloe wiped her mother's tears and gave her a tight hug. "Mum,go and freshen up while I prepare lunch for you"Chloe said. Chloe prepared lunch while her mum freshened up.

Chloe decided to invite Phoebe for lunch so she can tell her everything her mum told her."Hello baby girl"Phoebe said as she picked Chloe's phone call.

"I'm not okay... please can you come over???"Chloe asked. "Sure... anything for you"Phoebe said.

Lisa got downstairs after having a quick bath. "Mum,I invited Phoebe over to have lunch with us"Chloe said."That's nice...you need someone to talk to"Lisa said."Thanks mum"Chloe said.

"Ding dong" the doorbell rang."I'm coming"Chloe said."Hey girl"Phoebe said."How are you...please come in"Chloe said.

They both got in and had lunch together. Chloe and Phoebe went to Chloe's room while Lisa went to her room to have a nap.

"I can't believe that my dad did that to my mum...there must be a good reason behind this"Chloe said."Uhm...I'm lost here"Phoebe said. "Well my mum told me everything I need to know about my father"Chloe said."Wow... that's good right???"Phoebe asked."Nope... unfortunately it's not"Chloe said.

"My mum told me that my dad left her in the altar on their wedding day...and she was pregnant also"Chloe said."Are u for real!!!...there must be a good reason why he did that...I'm sure he loved her a lot". Phoebe said."Yes...I'm very sure he loved her so much...I must find out why he did that on that faithful day.

"We need some fresh air...why don't we go out with the boys???"Phoebe asked."Right now I don't want to see Edward's face"Chloe said."Please...for my sake"Phoebe said with a puppy dog eye."You know those eyes don't work for me but I'm only going because you insisted that I should go.

"Well go and freshen up while I'll call Roy to tell him about our plans. "Hey babe"Phoebe said."Darling,how are you doing"Roy lovingly asked.

"I'm fine my love...what about you"Phoebe asked."I'm okay"Roy answered. "Well... babe I actually called you to tell you that Chloe and I will love for the four of us to go on an outing"."Chloe is passing through a lot right now and she needs some fresh air".Phoebe said."I hope she's alright and there nothing serious to worry about"Roy asked."No... it's nothing serious...so can we???"Phoebe asked.

"Of course we can but doesn't Chloe have any problem with Edward"Roy asked."Nope,I've already handled that"Phoebe said. "Alright bye".

After her call, she went to meet Chloe who had already gotten ready. "So I called Roy and he'll be coming the normal time"Phoebe said.

Few minutes later,Roy and Edward arrived. Chloe quickly ran to tell her mum that she's going out. They all left the house to watch a movie. They all got to the cinema and bought their tickets. Like the rest days,Chloe and Edward will always fight but it looked like neither of them were interested for a fight

Roy and Phoebe intentionally ordered two couples popcorn and soda.

Neither Chloe nor Edward complained. All they did was to just watch the movie and eat their popcorn.

They finished the movie and went to an ice cream shop to get some ice creams. They had their ice cream amd headed home as it was already getting dark.

Chloe and Phoebe got to Chloe's house in a tired state. Phoebe called her father and told him she will be sleeping over at Chloe's."I could see that you were not in the mood to have fun and it was not only you ...Edward must have some things going through his mind also.

Chloe was not listening to Phoebe as she was thinking on how to get more information about her father."Yess"Chloe screamed as an idea popped up in her head."Why don't we go to the Library...maybe we can get informations about the land my Dad belongs to" Chloe said hopefully.
