"Huh, did what go well? Oh wait yeah. Um yes ma'am, it was pretty interesting. I can see myself improving if I continue with them." Quickly understanding what she was asking of him, he replied.
"Is that so? Hmm, what do you think of attending my high school?" Twirling the glass in her hand, she seemed majestic.
"Your high school? Did you build one grandma?"
"Oh no, no who do you think I am? I was a major sponsor for the school's infrastructure and maintenance and the real owner gave me a lot of authority in that regard, so I am unofficially one of the school's owners."
'Was that the only reason? I feel like there's a deeper motive behind that move. Either way it doesn't affect me or my family so it's all good.'
"Then why do you want me to go there? If nothing goes wrong, I would be attending Aoba Johsai High. There has to be a reason, one that you think would be highly beneficial to my growth present in your school."
"As expected of my grandson, however you're somewhat right in that sense but I will keep what you're right on hidden unless you choose to go there."
"Grandma, it's not that deep, it's just a school."
'A tool for me to further enhance my abilities, find and accept worthy subjects into my creed.'
NEXT DAY*
YAWN*
Walking past the school gates, the slight chilly wind picks up causing faint rustlings among the leaves of the blooming trees.
The cheerful and bubbly atmosphere of youth filled the surroundings, everyone sharing the same emotion, welcoming the start of a new school year.
Well except for one guy..
'Damn although man can never be hot, man doesn't want to be cold.'
Tugging on his jacket, he made his way to the bulletin board right at the entrance of the school's front office. Hmm, Volleyball, volleyball, oh there it is.
'Arellano Leslie',
'Dwayne Johnson',
blah blah blah.
Ooh Kageyama Tobio, keh, why am I not surprised, after all he's a genius.
Hmm end of the list, intriguing. . . .
Oi oi oi yamete kudasai, am I not on the list? No wait, let's do some quick maths. Toru Oikawa's name didn't show up on the list, nor did Iwaizumi's. But what does that mean to the current me?
Huh, so I guess I'm a first year starter. This is going to be so much fun.
The day seemed to go by slowly as the teachers dragged on lessons. English teachers lecturing us on why Shakespeare is the goat?
"How long will this torture continue to go on for?" Unknowingly, Daniel had accidentally voiced out his inner thoughts and the teacher got an earful.
Luckily for Daniel, he managed to escape by a hair's breadth as the bell dismissed the class just as she was about to reprimand her rebellious student.
Dashing out the doors, I made my way to the soon to be intimate gymnasium and walked to the changing rooms.
5 minutes later*
After packing up, I put my changed clothes into my locker and made my way back into the gym and met the rest of the team, my team.
The coach blew his whistle to gather the attention of all players to himself and began his announcements.
"Congratulations to every player present at this time, I hope you are aware that you all being here means you are currently a team member of Kitagawa DaiichI Junior High Volleyball team."
"WHOOP WHOOP" The newbies cheered in response.
"HEY! Settle down now, although this means you made it, it also means you're now representatives of our school. You have responsibilities and you are to uphold them as failure to abide by it has repercussions, the worst of it being cut from the team. So henceforth make your decisions wisely. That is all, let's get practice going."
"Take 5 minutes to get to know your future teammates, introduce yourselves as you lot will be playing together for the rest of the year and some of you for the next 2 to 3 years. Build relationships and bonds, communicate for they shall be your brother's keeper."
Later, the group comes together once more in front of the coach awaiting his words.
"Now that that's all figured out, we need to figure out positions. Who are our setters?
3?2? 2 Fair enough. How about middle blockers, power, right side? Blah blah blah… And our defensive specialist? 1? 2? Huh I guess you changed your mind." Realizing a change occurred in the numbers he had imagined, quickly figured out the workings behind it.
"I'll also go ahead and take the role of the team's service specialist unless there's someone better at it." Daniel spoke out.
"Of course there is, I am here." Oikawa announced
"Ho ho, Oikawa seems like you've got some competition, you better start working hard." The coach began to stroke his chin in contemplation.
[AN: A defensive specialist does not mean he can not score. It's basically being a defense first person. In football/soccer, there is a position called DM (defensive midfielder). That's similar to defensive specialist]
"We can decide the owner by a mini accuracy game." Daniel suggested with a thoughtful expression
"Sure, just don't come crying to me." Oikawa replied with a smirk, arms folded across his chest.
"Keh keh keh, is that so huh, Crappy-kawa?"
Sparks were igniting the instinct to the better of the two. Who had the bigger dawg in them?
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
