PEGGY AND BRIAN

UPDATED THE CHARACTER ROOSTER

MC's aunt and his receptionist Anna

----

As I stood outside Peggy's door, my heart was pounding with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Today was the day of our date, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building within me.

When the door opened, revealing Peggy in a stunning black dress, my breath caught in my throat. She looked absolutely breathtaking, and I couldn't help but feel a rush of admiration for her. Her smile was warm and welcoming, easing some of the tension I had been feeling.

Hey," I said, offering a slightly nervous smile of my own.

"Hey, Brian," Peggy replied, her voice carrying a hint of excitement. "You look good."

"Thanks," I said, feeling a surge of confidence. "You look amazing."

She laughed softly, her eyes sparkling. "Well, thank you. Shall we?"

I nodded, offering her my arm. She looped her arm through mine, and we started walking toward my car.

As we got in, I couldn't help but be drawn to the way the dress clung to her figure. The thin straps gave me a glimpse of the pale skin of her shoulders and arms, and the way the skirt fluttered around her thighs made my heart skip a beat.

"Do you know where you're taking me?" she asked as I started the car.

"Well, today I want to spend some quality time with you, just you, away from everyone else."

I glanced over at her and was struck by the look of pure happiness on her face.

"Really? You're not going to take me to that fancy restaurant or anything?" she asked with a curious expression.

"You want to eat outside when your man is a world-class chef? Come on," I shook my head. "This is your day. Let me do something nice for you."

She blushed and smiled. "Okay, fair enough. So, what are we going to do?"

"Well, you'll see. Just relax. Trust me, it's going to be a good time."

She grinned, and we chatted for the rest of the drive. When we arrived at the location, Peggy looked at me with a surprised expression.

"Wait! Don't tell me you bought this resort just so we can have some private gateway time!"

"Yup. I am the owner of this MoonHill Resort," I said with a proud smile. "I thought you might like it. And this place could be our gateway to a whole new world."

Peggy's jaw dropped, and she turned to face me. "Are you serious? You own a whole resort? Why didn't you tell me?"

Well, I didn't even know it was mine. I was actually planning on booking a spa resort, but today morning I received a call from my mother, yelling in my ears, scolding me for not taking care of things and not calling her often. It was a minor problem with tax papers. The letter went directly to my old home. It turns out she has been taking care of the tax with the money I have been sending to her account every month. Since the business is blooming more than ever, the amount of money I sent also increased...

Anyway, the whole thing is a bit of a mess, but I cleared up the pending tax and sent the money over.

But, five years... Damn! Mom did send me some files, but I was so busy exploring this new world that I forgot to even open the parcel. After examining the properties papers, it turns out that Brian bought this resort, a couple of stocks, a beachfront home, and some other properties the same day the gas explosion occurred. He spent a shit ton of money that day...

Things looked shady from my point of view. I mean why would he buy them just after the breakup? Was he trying to win her back? Or, it was something else that I am not aware of? Or, that explosion... Was it really an accident?

Things are getting complicated lately. Anyway, time to focus on Peggy.

"Then it wouldn't be much of a surprise, would it?" I replied with a smile, pulling her closer to me by her waist.

She gasped, and then let out a soft giggle as I pulled her even closer to me. She gave me a warm look and leaned in to kiss me. My heart skipped a beat, and I felt my pulse quicken.

After a few moments, I broke the kiss.

"Come on," I said, giving her a bright smile. "Let's get going."

"Oh, alright," Peggy replied, returning my smile.

I was excited for the day.

We walked in. The entire resort was empty, except for some caretakers and cleaners. The place was beautiful.

The resort was built around a large lake. There was a large garden, with various trees and flowers, all arranged around a beautiful gazebo. A white-painted path led from the parking lot, through the garden, and out onto a wooden bridge that crossed the lake. On the opposite side of the lake, the land rose slightly, forming a large hill, covered with tall pines and a carpet of green moss.

At the top of the hill stood a small cabin, nestled in the trees. It was white and looked cozy. A light breeze blew through the trees, causing the leaves to rustle softly.

"It's beautiful," Peggy said softly, gazing up at the sky.

"I'm glad you like it. Come on, I'll cook something tasty for you, then we can explore it together."

The resort was big and luxurious. Maybe one of the biggest out there in NY. Everything was very classy with modern touches. The floor was made of beautiful wood, polished so smooth that it reflected the image of the room. The walls were made of smooth stone, but the most beautiful part was the ceiling.

It was an exact replica of a sky, complete with clouds, birds, and even a blue spot where the sun was shining. It was simply magnificent.

"Wow, this is amazing!" Peggy gasped. "How did you manage to get your hands on it?"

"Well, I have no memories of that. You know the amnesia..." I shrugged. "So, what would you like to eat?"

"Hmmm," she said, putting her hands to her chin. "You know what I like, or did you forget that too?" She smirked.

The day we had a threesome with Gwen, I cooked for them the next day. So, I kinda know what she likes to eat in case she missed breakfast.

"Scrambled eggs, bacon strips, and sausages," I replied. "And orange juice."

"Sounds perfect." She smiled.

I turned away from her and went to the kitchen to prepare our food. As I cooked, she went out into the garden and leaned over the railing to look at the lake. After a while, I heard her footsteps behind me as she walked into the kitchen.

"What are you doing?" I asked, watching her curiously.

"Just thinking..." She replied with a smile.

I put the plates down on the table, and we sat on the wooden deck. I was amazed at how the whole resort looked so natural.

"Thinking... What about?" I asked.

"About retiring from the Illuminati."

I stared at her in disbelief.

"You mean... You're serious?" I asked. I am shocked. The girl who puts her duty before everything is talking about retirement.

"I am. It's time to hang up my shield or maybe pass it to someone worthy," She replied with a smile.

"Peggy, are you sure you want to do this?" I asked.

"Yes. I am. I'm done, Brian. I think it's time to move on and get out of my past shadows," She replied.

"Is it because of me?" I asked. "I don't want you to leave just because of me."

She shook her head. "No, no, Brian. It's not that. I want to do this for me. I think I have served my purpose for a long time."

"Your purpose?" I asked. "What purpose is that?"

"The purpose of protecting the innocent, of course," She laughed.

"That's not all, is it? You said your past shadows..." I trailed off.

"You're right. My main goal was to put a permanent end to Hydra and avenge my..." Her voice wavered.

I can understand how she feels. Peggy has suffered a lot in her life. I know more or less everything about her and everything thanks to my prior knowledge of Marvel World. In this reality, she became Captain Carter, which means Steve Rogers never became Captain America, worst, he may have died at the hands of Hydra and that must be the reason why she always puts her duty above everything else.

All these years she has been chasing after her past. I would have done the same thing... Can't blame her.

But I have to wonder if the cause was something else, if something drove her to seek revenge, a feeling that has always been there and that she is still trying to escape. Steve Rogers was her first love, after all.

We talked for a few hours. She told me about how Steve Rogers. They were romantically close. But he died when the super soldier experiment was sabotaged by the Hydra agents. That's when she decided to take his place. She lived through the process. And then she started hunting the Hydra agents. But during her final confrontation with the Red Skull, their plane crashed and she was frozen in ice for nearly a century. She also told me about the struggles she faced adjusting to this new world.

"I'm sorry, Brian." She shook her head and sighed.

"For what?" I smiled as I put my hand on her shoulder.

"For ruining the moment," She replied.

"It's okay. You know, sometimes it's better to let everything out of your chest." I took her hand.

"I know. It's just so hard to open up sometimes, you know?"

"Yeah, I know," I replied, thinking about my own struggles and the secrets I am hiding in my heart. "But you know I will always be there for you, no matter what. So trust me when I say you can tell me anything."

Peggy nodded and leaned in to kiss me. Our lips met and I could feel her passion and emotion, her love for me. It was a strong feeling, something that I could feel in every fiber of my being. I had no doubts about my feelings for her, no fears. This was real.

"I love you," she whispered into my ear.
