I'm a mega pangoro, the chief of a wandering tribe of fighting type Pokémon.

However, we were not homeless from the beginning.

We too had our home where we used to live happily. That was a time where unlike now our children could grow under the blessing of the land.

Those were the glorious days of our tribe where we used to produce fine warriors in batches.

However, now our tribe is nothing but the shell of our past glorious self.

Many of our warriors died protecting our home.

Children lost their parents, many lost their mates.

They sacrificed their lives and left the responsibility to protect our home to me, their chief.

However, I failed them.

Our land was snatched from us while we could only lower our heads and scurry away.

I don't hold a grudge against the tribe that snatched our home. I don't have the right to either.

Because I was not strong enough to defend my home.

I lost to the opponent's chief, Mienshao.

It is the divine law and the pokemons way of living,

The act of Mienshao sparring me alive is already kind of his part. Yet it's humiliating for me.

It's humiliating but I don't have the confidence to beat the Mienshao if we battle again, we could only scurry away and become a wandering tribe.

Without the land's blessing, the recently birthed children have lower average talents than before.

Without the blessed land's resources, we cannot nurture our talents like in the past.

We only have warriors from my generation that still held the tribe strong.

However, what would happen to our tribe after our generation passes away?

I can't let the tribe pass on to me by my ancestor's decline in my rule!

In the central area of the fighting poketown,

Aeron's house backyard,

Aeron was sitting cross-legged as he was lost in his thoughts about the war.

Gallade has already given him the details he needed to know for the upcoming territory war.

Since the highest tier of Pokémon from both sides is tier 3 the battle will be 3vs3 where the opponent needs to win 2 battles to win the territory war.

There will be three different war zones where opponents of the same tier from different sides will fight the war.

Furthermore, the part which peeved Aeron the most is the war rule according to which you have to finish off the downed pokemon

Unlike humans, pokemons have evolved by adapting to the energy in them.

The energy within a Pokemon is a part of them and protects them until exhausted.

So it creates a situation similar to Pokemon games from my past life where I have to deplete a pokemon's HP and faint them. Only then can a pokemon be killed. However, there is a much easier way to kill a Pokemon and that is by being overwhelmingly strong.

Although the energy in pokemon can defend against a stronger enemy. It still has its limits.

Usually, a pokemon 1 tier higher can kill a pokemon of the lower tier in one shot.

The survival mechanism of pokemon is one of their greatest trump cards as within the same tier they can't be killed easily. So normally pokemon fights last long. Furthermore, even if the difference between two pokemon is as wide as one side is a level 1 pokemon and another side is a level 100, although the stronger one can defeat the weaker ones in one move it still can't kill them directly.

Their ability is so broken that a max level tier 1 pokemon can't even be killed by low-rank tier 2 in one hit.

As miraculous as their ability is, there is a catch.

If the energy within them is used to defend them, where will they get the energy to use other abilities?

The answer is nowhere.

Yes, that's right! Pokemon actually use their pp in their survival mechanism.

Using pp to defend however will leave them vulnerable after some time so it is more like a passive trigger-type ability that defends from a fatal attack.

So Pokemon can be injured. Unlike the media in my past life where they don't get hurt after battling. It's just their natural ability that protects them from fatal injuries.

"Ralts?" ( are you okay?)

Ralts interruption brought Aeron back from his idle thoughts.

Looking at Ralts, Aeron realized his mistake.

They are bonded at a level where they can feel each other's surface emotions.

"Sorry for worrying you Ralts. I'm fine."

Taking Ralts in his lap Aeron took a deep breath to clear his mind.

He realized he was merely deluding himself with idle thoughts.

Although I don't have the morals and upbringing of my past life But I have the knowledge and thus an outlook that would rather fit in my past life.

The thought of killing pokemon muddled my mind.

After all, pokemons are living beings too that have emotions and connections. The consequences of killing made me hesitate.

They are not my enemy nor can I conveniently title them 'evil' to ease my consciousness. They have reason to fight and family to go back.

However, does that mean I will let them hurt me and my Pokemon?

'Never! The world can burn for all I care if it endangers me and my pokemon."

I too have a reason to fight and to kill.

While Stroking Ralts head Aeron fixed his mentality to face what is to come.

Reading the reward part made Aeron excited as the Dark-type material was the only thing stopping Ralts from evolving. After all, the chances of finding a dark-type treasure in fighting-type poketown are close to none.

However, reading the failure consequences made Aeron stunned.

Throwing the grim thoughts in the back of his mind Aeron focused on his pokemon and began preparing them for the war.
