Wolf with a White Spot

As the lights flicker, Diana's footsteps echoed in the corridor leaving the hospital. She closed a few buttons of her white coat then secured her crossbody purse across her body before heading out.

The back side of the hospital is a bit darker compared to the other parking areas, for it has more bigger trees and fewer lamp posts.

Diana climbed down the stairs and headed on the far right side of the parking lot. Most resident doctors and interns park here because it's nearer to the doctor's lounge and special medical units. At this time, there are no people can be seen around, except for the security circling the area.

Diana took her time walking to Calvin's car. With her hands in her pocket, she hummed the song she heard from Scott before. 'Where did I hear this song?', she thought. She smiled remembering the times she shared with him. Then sullenly frowned thinking he never cared for her at all.

Calvin's reserved parking slot is not a bit far from the last lamp post on the right side of the parking area.

She shivered and crossed her arms as the cool breeze touched her cheeks. She rubbed her cold hands together and clasped it against her chest.

The leaves rustled softly as the wind blew. It almost looked like the trees are dancing in the cold cloudy night. She stopped for a while and closed her eyes as she feel the gush of the wind blew through her hair.

Not too long, she spotted Calvin's car parked from afar just across the yellow lamp post near the wall. As soon as Diana walked past it, she stopped humming when she noticed a black hooded figure leaning on the car.

Diana stopped and looked back to check for the security. 'He's not too far', she thought. She looked ahead again and the hooded figure is still unmoved.

She walked carefully towards the car, then looked for her phone in her purse to call Calvin. However, there is no good reception from where she's standing. She thought of going back to the hospital but when she looked back at the tall, thin hooded figure, he's gone.

Diana looked around to search for the hooded man. She could hear her rapid shallow breaths as her lip started to tremble.

When she turned around, she gasped to see the hooded man a few inches away from her.

"Wha.. what do you want?", Diana said as she clenched her fist.

The man removed his hood, stared blankly at Diana and smiled eerily. "Your blood", as he step forward toward Diana.

Diana widened her eyes in shock and in tremendous fear at the bloodshot eyes and sharp fingernails of the man in front of him. She stepped back trembling, not removing her gaze at him.

Then he swiftly moved in front of Diana with his hand on her face and the other on her shoulder. He opened his mouth revealing his sharp fangs trying to bite her.

Regardless of his speed, Diana was able to hold his neck, strangled it and pushed him away with all her might.

"You're pretty fast and strong for a human. What are you?", the vampire grabbed her again and sniffed her hard.

Diana secured her left arm on his chest and placed her right hand on his neck to push him more. Before he lunged in, they heard a soft growl.

The vampire stopped, slowly let go of Diana then turned around.

Diana hurriedly backed away as she carelessly fell down on the ground. To her much surprise, she saw an incoming wolf ready to attack towards them.

This purely black wolf with a white spot on its forehead is much bigger like a horse and more viscious compared to the one Diana saw last time.

Diana couldn't believe her eyes. She's frozen like a rock as she keep catching her breath. She crawled backwards until her back reached Calvin's car.

Before the vampire made a move, the wolf quickly pounced on him biting his head off. In just a few seconds, the vampire turned to ashes.

Diana closed her eyes tightly and clasped her shirt in fear that she's next to be ravaged by the wolf. The wolf walked towards Diana slowly, then laid down in front of her.

When she opened her eyes, she saw the wolf staring at her. Its eyes are gray as the moon, and its white spot remind her of Apollo. She flinched when it started to walk.

"Please don't hurt me", she pleaded as she folded her legs to the side. The wolf bowed a little, seemingly offering itself to Diana.

Diana was too afraid to touch the wolf but if it wants to hurt her, she should've been its meal already.

She lifted her trembling hand and with her palm up. The wolf slowly placed its face on her palm. Diana scratched its chin then caressed its neck.

The wolf then come closer to her and licked her hand, then her arm, going to her neck and face. Diana gave out a very long sigh of relief, as she rolled her eyes.

"How come wolves like me", she chuckled as the wolf didn't stopped licking her face. "I didn't know wolves can be this big! Thanks for saving me….. that's a vampire right? I can't believe they're real..", Diana rubbed the wolf's neck and embraced it. Her heart fluttered as she get closer to the wolf.

"Where are you from? Don't just show yourself to others. You look so scary, they might hurt you", Diana held the wolf's face as she stared into its eyes. She suddenly furrowed her eyes as she recognize a scent coming from the wolf.

"You smell nice", she said, then she heard Calvin calling her name. The wolf turned its head back and growled softly. Then it licked Diana's face one more time then swiftly ran away.

Diana wiped her face with her coat then shouted for Calvin.

"Calvin! I'm here!", she stood up and fixed her clothes and her hair. She stared at the ashes on the ground as it is being blown by the wind.

"Who would believe me?", she uttered.
