Wolf howling for the Moon

SCOTT POV

"How in the world..", I stood up slowly facing the lythari elf who dared to welcome himself in my house. "What are you doing here?!", I radiated my fury aura even more as the lythari elf wince in pain.

I was about to reach for it when Diana all of a sudden held my arm. "He's with me, Scott", she tightened her grip and beamed a heartwarming smile. How do I say no to this beautiful face?

"With you? Diana, do you know who this elf is?", I grabbed her hand and knelt down. "This menace is the reason why Alva took you away from me in the Valley of the Falls", I worriedly told my Luna who seemed to have trusted the tiny beast.

"I know.. he told me everything.", Diana said as she caress my hands with her thumb. "I saved him from the fire in the woods, and then, he guided me out of the house to come here", Diana said. No wonder how she was able to enter my house.

"Excuse me, Lycan King! I'm no elf. I am a lythari elf", the lythari said at a close distance. "My name is Ofir", he introduced himself as he sat down on the stairs.

"You're safe for now, elf", I said as I slumped back on the couch pulling Diana beside me. "Luna, they are not to be trusted", I whispered in her ear while I rested my chin on her shoulder.

"I can hear you, Lycan King! Of course I can be trusted, unlike my fallen brother who lost his way.", Ofir said with his lips curved downwards.

"He doesn't have a home now, and he promised to help me", Diana scooched away keeping a distance from me. I moved towards her until we reached the edge of the arm rest. Is she aloof at my presence?

"Why would you need help from that elf when you have me?", I held her hand as I brush my lips on it. "And you, don't call me Lycan King", I glared at Ofir who just rolled his eyes.

Diana smiled and blinked several times as she tap my hand. Something is totally off. "What's wrong, Luna?", I tilted my head to see her face.

"I'll give you some space", Ofir blurted as he instantly stood on his feet. "I'm watching you, Lycan King. Do no harm at Diana, or else I'll fry your insides while sit there", he warned.

I clenched my fist as I sat at the edge of my seat. Why would I hurt Diana? I radiated my rage aura in a blink of an eye. The lythari elf wailed from torturous pain as he glow in white concealing his body from my power.

"Scott! Please.. Stop", Diana exclaimed as she place her hands on my chest. I then stopped attacking the tiny beast.

"Okay, okay.", I obeyed like a tame wolf at Diana's command as I held her palm on my chest.

Ofir snorted and grunted as he recover. "I'll be in the open deck upstairs.", he breathlessly said as he glared at me on his way out.

Diana removed her hands from my chest. She walked to the fireplace, and crouched down hugging her knees. I could tell by the sound of her heartbeat that something is still bothering my Luna. I sat behind Diana and pulled her close to me between my legs. Wrapping my arms around her from behind, I smelled the back of her head deeply. Was it about Christina?

"Diana, about Christina..", I started. "What happened in the woods between us, it was nothing. You know that.", I said.

"It doesn't matter", she whispered. I could feel her tensed body refusing to accept my physical advances. I think she's mad. Given that Diana is a suppressed wolf who imprinted on me minimally, she could have so many things running in her mind as if I cheated on her, when in fact she fills and owns my mind, body and soul.

"No, It does.. I don't want any misunderstanding that would make you doubt on my love for you. I want to be clear that I only have eyes for you", I filled the spaces of her fingers with mine.

"Love?", she asked.

"I love you, Diana. I always have.", I held her chin and moved her face to the side. "Do you love me too?", I stared at her as I see the answer through her eyes.

"Love is a such a strong word.", she gazed at my lips with the saddest eyes I've seen on her. "Do you remember anything the night of the full moon, Scott?", she suddenly asked.

I rested my chin on her shoulder and thought hard. "I remember your face under the moonlight.", I closed my eyes and took a long sigh. "You were glistening with the brightest stars before all the lights went out", I said. "Next thing I know, I'm laying on the riverbed wounded from your silver dagger", I opened my eyes as I smell the dried blood on her skin. Sticking my tongue out, I started to lick it on her cool skin. She's so irresistible.

Diana gasped and tried to catch her breath. "Think hard, Scott. And try to remember", she flinched and moaned as she held my head gently. "Think", she whispered.

I sighed sharply as I leaned back with my hands. Clearly, Diana wants a serious conversation about that night, in which if I won't distance myself at this moment, I'll end up showering her with kisses from head to toe. "Honestly, that night was a blur. Though from then, I've been having hunches, and signs of what really happened. Everytime I dig deeper, I become more afraid", I answered.

Diana turned her body as she rested her head with her arm on my bended knee. "Of what?", she asked.

"That I may have turned to.. a real monster. The cursed Alpha wolf in Dolphus' prophecy. The slave of the moon who will kill anyone on his way to get to his Luna. And If I am, Roman might really be the better Alpha, and mate for you", I chose to show my Luna my insecurities with Roman Brooke. An Alpha who's competitive enough to take my Luna. The possibility of me becoming a lycan pains me, a threat and an envoy that forbids me to be with my Luna. "That's totally fucked up", I said.

"But Diana, I don't want to go back to where I can only see you at a distance, like the wolf howling for the moon. I want to be with you.", I twirled a lock of her hair and smiled. "I want to be there when you cry, cheer you on your great wins, and hug you on your defeat.. It would be so nice If we grow old together. Comb each other's grey hair, or smile silly at our toothless mouths", for the first time today, I saw Diana's heartfelt smile as she chuckled softly.

"So if I'm the cursed wolf.. I'll do what I'll have to do to remove the damn curse, so I can be with you", I placed my palm on her cheek as I grazed her lips with my thumb. "As long as I have you by my side. I'm okay", I said.

"Do you have an idea why you're possibly cursed? And who would've cursed you?", Diana asked.

"No.. not even a slightest idea.", I answered.

"Okay.. ", she wet her lips and cleared her throat. "Tamara is up to something. I'm not sure what. She wants me to bring you to her, so she could lift the curse.. But I don't trust her.", Diana said. "I think, she's the one who casted the curse on the Lockwoods", she added.

"Then we'll think of other ways. What else did she tell you?", for whatever reason, I believed Diana that it is Tamara who cursed us. But, why would she curse the Lockwoods?

She sat upright and stared directly at me. "Scott, there's a reason why I'm here", she said in a more serious tone that gave me an uneasy feeling.
