A Trap

"She's been down there.. like a damsel in distress waiting for her prince charming", Alva dramatically placed the back of her hand on her forehead.

"Alpha, it could be a trap", Cory whispered over Scott's shoulder. Scott grunted at the presence of Alva. Sensing her from across the hallway, he wondered why all of a sudden Alva's out and open, who no longer hides her true nature.

Walking in the long hallway with the sounds of Alva's clacking heels, she grazed the balustrade with her palm. She then stopped by the stairs as she wave at the three wolves hiding in the shadows. Her eyes glistened in gladness at Scott whom she wanted to come over. "Coming? Diana's waiting", Alva said fiercly.

'Watch your backs', Scott mindtalked Lucas and Cory as he carefully followed Alva downstairs. He was first in line followed by Cory, then Lucas.

'I'm not feeling this', Lucas uttered through mindtalk as he looked behind.

Descending the stairs with a few steps from Alva, they could now sense the reeking scent of a nagua in her. Taking a quick glance at the front door upon reaching the ground floor, they saw Kate depart the Woodsworth residence as the butler closes the door.

Lucas scoffed at the butler as he lined the sill with a crystal white powder. 'Pearwood and Wolf Flower. I don't think she wants us out', Lucas mindtalked to Scott. Pearwood and wolf flower are used to ensnare the souls of supernatural bodies when they cross it.

'Like that works on us.. Alpha, Luna won't be here. Why would she go in the basement?', Cory said as he furrow his brows.

'She's not planning on trapping our mortal bodies. She plans to trap our souls.', Scott answered as he trail the footsteps of Alva.

'That's very comforting', Cory smiled nervously.

Reaching the basement, they followed Alva through an open heavy steel door leading to a large hall with three doors. The blue flames on the torches fired up even more when they entered.

Alva stopped in the middle of the hall, turned around and folded her arms. She placed her finger on her cheek. "I just realized, you have a great resemblance with your father. The physique is totally different, of course. He's like a broomstick.", Alva said with a smirk.

"You have a a lot of memory of my father.", Scott said.

"So with your mother", Alva's eyes glimmered with the reflection of the blue flames surrounding the hall.

"Where's Diana?", Scott shifted his gaze on each of the door behind Alva. The door with a moonstone caught his attention as he uttered, "Your charging station?", he asked as he locked his gaze at the myserious door.

"My favorite room in this house.", Alva smiled eerily.

"I hope you are not in a hurry, you and your friends are most welcome to come in", she said.

"Not in this lifetime. Or any other lifetimes", Cory replied as he crinkle his nose.

"Shall we play a game?", Alva asked. "My lovely daughter is in one of these rooms. I'll let you choose one door. If you get it right, you can walk away with my daughter along with my blessing", she offered.

"And if we get it wrong?", Lucas asked.

"Your souls are mine", Alva replied.

"We don't play games, Nagua. Where is she??", Scott asked as he fill the room with his rage aura.

"Thanks for the offer but my soul stays with me!", Cory said as he stepped forward with his fists clenched along with Lucas who's about to transform.

"You're boring! A little entertainment would be fun", Alva spread her hands as she creates a dark shadow on the floor. Then, she placed her hand forward as the shadows on the floor travelled towards the Scott and his pack. "Are you sure you don't want to play? I have a different kind of game that we can play", she said.

Scott clenched his fists and darkened his eyes at Alva. "Watch out for that", he points on the floor with a pout. "If it gets to you, it will capture you", he warned his friends on the ultimate danger that could pin them down.

"You wolves are so blinded by the imprint. You're willing to give up your own life for a woman who just caught your eye. You travel far and wide, not thinking clearly..", Alva said. "That selfless love will kill you one day.. just like what happened to your father", Alva pushed the shadows forward as she turn to her tonal wolf form.

"My father was murdered", Scott said as he gritted his teeth.

"Why so bitter? Oh right.. because no one would dare look at you.", Cory cringe at Alva's strange look.

Standing on her feet, her body was suddenly covered with dark brown fur all over revealing only her six-pack abs. Her yellow diamond eyes gleamed like marbles, and her plump cheeks emphasized her chiseled set of teeth.

Alva pushed the shadows towards Cory, as he dodged them effortlessly by leaping out.

"Who would be bewitched with a cat with abs?", Lucas added while he steered clear from the shadows directed towards him.

"Cat? More like a tonal rat", Cory replied jumping near one of the doors. He opened it, checked for Diana and said, "Clear!".

Lucas on the other hand leaped on the other door, opened it and checked the room. "No Luna here", he said.

"Your father wasn't murdered, Scott. He killed himself for his undying love for your mother under that banyan tree", Alva said. "So brave, he burned himself alive", she hissed at the old memory.

Scott remained where he's standing, unbothered with the shadows circling him. His aura managed to protect him as the shadows break at the exposure of his aura. He draw near Alva, stepping on the shadows. "How could I believe a liar such as yourself?", Scott asked.

"Impressive", Alva said. "Let's see if you can fight this.", Alva fired up her hands with blue flames that startled Scott. Alva threw a couple of balls of fire at Scott as he dodge them breathlessly.

"Watch out!", Lucas said as he attack on Alva from behind. Alva was able to avoid Lucas but was punched on her abdomen by Scott as she fly in one of the rooms. Lucas immediately shut the door close, locking Alva in.

Cory tried to open the moonstone door, but it burned his hands when he touched it.

"She's not here", Scott said. "Let's go before things get more uncontrollable", he added.

The three wolves sprinted up as they make way to the front door. "We can't go through there", Cory said as he opened the door.

Lucas checked the windows and as expected, they are lined with Pearwood and Wolf flowers too.

As they were about to lose other options, Kate surprisingly appeared at the door and said, "Need help?". The three wolves sighed in relief.

"Erase the powder with your hands. Remove your jacket and put it on the of the sill.", Lucas ordered as to where Kate hurriedly obliged.

They safely passed through the door and hurriedly ran out of the house while Scott looked back seeing Alva standing by the door with a fierce look. He carefully studied the house before he left the premises. "She's not here…. Where is she?", he grunted in frustration.

"What happened back there? Where's Diana?", Kate asked worriedly.

"I am never going back in there", Cory said as he gasp for air.

"Sorry man..", Lucas tapped Scott's shoulder. "We'll find her soon", he added.

"Thanks brothers", Scott replied with forlorn eyes. He then ride his car and waited for Lucas with Cory and Kate to leave.

As he drive out, he saw Roman and his biker pack waiting at the exit post of the Villa Estates.

Seeing the car without the presence of the Luna, Roman smirked in happiness knowing Scott didn'f find her.

Scott stepped on the gas as he speed up on his way home. The city lights and lamp posts shine brightly in the moonless sky. He cursed at the thought that he's like the sky without the presence of the moon - not wanting any other light, just the moon.

As he parked his car in the basement parking of where he lives, he went up the elevator with a miserable feeling of longing. As soon as the elevator

door opens up to his home, his heart dropped from an unexpected and pleasant surprise.

"I didn't know where to go. I didn't want to go here but.. this is where my hearts leads me", Diana said with teary eyes.
