Charming Beauties

A happy future awaits every child who has been born into the world. However, that could not be said for Rodrick Leinart, a man who was less fortunate enough to live the early years of his childhood with a happy and complete family...only for it to end up in a tragedy: behold, his ruined family. Dealing throughout life after the outcome of his father's infidelity, he vowed to become a man who his mother could be proud of. ...but when he chooses to play the most popular game of his time, a VRPG harem-based game with the potential to help him financially, he is torn between two choices: play the game and earn money, or honor the promise he made to his mother. So? What does he do? He plays the game in the opposite way as advertised! "Harem? What harem? I only choose to have one wife!" ▪︎ ・・・ ▪︎ TRIGGERS ▪︎ ・・・ ▪︎ 1.) First-Person Writing (I know, but it is what it is...I promise it will be enjoyable though. The story will start first and foremost with plentiful observations though, so if that's a red flag, don't read it hahaha.) 2.) Slow Burn Romance (Just because it's nice to see romance bloom slowly...from nothing. And also because it's underrated.) ▪︎ ・・・ ▪︎ AUTHOR'S NOTE ▪︎ ・・・ ▪︎ But seriously, who knows? You might enjoy the story despite these triggers. Just give it a shot, maybe the first 30 chapters? :

Soft and Succulent Lips

I woke up to the sight of the bright sun hitting my face on the left side of my body. I grimaced, forcing myself to continue staying in bed...but it was pointless since I couldn't even deal with my whole body scorched under the rays of the hot sun.

I don't want to be cooked like a chiken, so I might as well wake up.

I yawn, waking up from my rest, still feeling a bit sleepy, but I figured a quick stop on the internet forums of Charming Beauties would wake me up.

...there was one post in particular that stood out among the rest, perhaps it's because it's the current top and hottest post in the forum. I'm not sure why, when its title is basically "This is Madness!"

This is Madness! [Posted 5 hours ago]

Kibopagr1: This is Madness! You mean to tell me that someone managed to fit that stoic woman's crazy standards?! It's madness! I refuse to believe it!

Kibopagr1: Like, look! She even wrote an announcement to refuse players access to that mountain!!! All except for that new husband of hers!!!

Kibopagr1: Now, how can I look at those beauties who were practicing on that mountain?! F*ck! 😠

Comments:

Alzatar300: WHAT?! Now I can't be her number one simp! My goddess will no longer accept my gifts!

Kiqiei23: Tell me that's a joke...I already sold all the women in my harem to get money to pursue her...

[☑️] FalseFealty: F*ck. I spent most of my resources on a b*tch I didn't even get. I need my 100,000 back.

ABlender: Wait, False?! You're here! I'm your number-one fan!

Pientro56: Damn! The player who got her must be a real pro! I wonder who got her?

My heart pounds, a sense of dread filling my body as I look at my monitor with my utmost focus...she chose a husband?

But who?

She rejected everyone who came there yesterday...

But maybe she changed her mind about one of them? Maybe...I was chosen?

...immediately, I enter the game and walk to the path of where the mountain is located. It looked less imposing now...especially when some celebratory red balloons and banners surrounded the mountain.

I walked to the entrance and saw the same girl who was holding a spear. She blocks the pathway for a second, looking at me with squinted eyes. I try to say something, but she immediately withdraws her weapon.

"Welcome to Mount Lianthan, master," She smiles, which might seem real at first glance, but I've noticed that it seems rather...forced. I don't make any comment on it, since it's not my place to ask.

Wait, she called me master?! I partly-own this mountain now?!

"Madam Rosyvliana is in her pagoda, waiting for you," She says, as she gives me a ruby tablet.

"If you want to teleport to her pagoda, please press this tablet once," She says, pointing at the center of the ruby tablet. I take a look at the tablet again, this time, to admire the phoenix engraving on it.

I then nod, and she nods back at me. It's a civil conversation between gestures, and I appreciate her for keeping her formalities. Along with the feigned smile on her lips. "If sir has anything to ask of me, I am always at your service," She says happily...another feigned tone.

"I'll be sure to ask when I do," I respond, and let her continue guarding her post. She looked rather imposing and even statue-like. She kept her eyes on the road, ensuring that no one crossed without her permission.

Meanwhile, I tap the ruby tablet.

It starts to glow, causing a sense of warm and invigorating feelings throughout my body.

It also makes me disappear like light, as my body temporarily floats into the air like particles, immediately sending me to the stone gate of the pagoda.

I was surprised to see the gate in front of me, and so, I stood outside for a couple of seconds like an idiot.

However, I immediately woke up from my trance and went inside her pagoda, being greeted by the guards that were outside her pagoda.

After a few minutes of walking, I see her in the living room, looking at me with an imposing gaze. She wore different clothes today.

For comparison, if before, she was wearing those taoist clothes that resembled the Demonic Cult in Murim, then, today...she was wearing a pure white wedding dress.

This wedding dress wasn't bouncy or voluminous, and instead, it flowed to the ground rather elegantly-- focusing not on visuals, but on the shape of her body.

"You must be confused about why you're here. I never made a public announcement on who my betrothed was." She says, sitting down on the chair with her legs crossed and her eyes intent on me.

To respond, I look at her with relief and nod. "Yes...I thought that I disappointed you yesterday,"

She only looks at me calmly, and not with the usual irritation or expression that shows that she's irked by me. "Make no mistake. Your performance was close to disappointing, but your soul speaks for itself." She says, handing me a document...or no, it wouldn't even be a document.

It's a contract...of our marriage!

My cheeks immediately flush red when the implication of all this would mean that I have a new responsibility aside from being a good son!

I must also be a good husband, or, errr...virtual husband!

"Then, you're my wife now?" I ask again, wanting to be sure this isn't all a dream. I wanted to ensure this wasn't.

This might have been a great responsibility to bear, but...something inside me feels that it's worth it.

Something inside also makes me feel like a giddy child who just had his first crush.

She nods, her face still devoid of any sense of romantic expression...which is odd, given that she was looking for a husband. I still wonder what's up about that.

She then stands up, coming close to me to give me a box with two rings inside. They were...beautiful golden rings with an intricate flower-shaped diamond gem in the middle.

"I haven't prepared a wedding ceremony, but if you want to hold one, then you are free to do as you wish," She says, as she waits for me to say something...but I'm still stuck in the clouds when I put the rings on our finger.

When I snap out of it, I shake my head and bashfully answer. "Ah- no, that's not necessary!" I appease her, and she only nods, unaffected. I say nothing else and awkwardly stand in front of her.

She's too beautiful.

Too lifelike...too real.

Her eyes gaze up, looking at me with a sense of contemplation. "Right, even without a banquet, you men were always waiting for this," She clicks her tongue, showing her irritation...but that's not important.

What's important was that she was referring to something...but what?

She then comes closer, tiptoeing as she caresses my face, making sure that I'm firmly put in place. Her hands tease my cheeks, as she warmly rubs them...I'm sure that by now, I'm already as red as a tomato.

But it only gets redder the more the moment passes.

She starts to kiss me softly, placing her soft and succulent lips on my own. I look at her with widened eyes, never expecting this situation to happen in a million years!

I stay in place, not doing anything except to lean back and enjoy the kiss. She seems to notice this and continues to press forward, not backing down or slowing her pace.

With the combination of her skillful touch on my cheeks and the slow yet passionate kiss from her lips, I've been sent to a blissful heaven.

I think...I think this game may not be too bad after all.

Favorite scenes to write? Definitely the romance or wholesome ones...but we may not see much more of that early on~
