Chaos has come to Orario (A Seven Deadly Sins X Danmachi SI story)

This is a tale of ancient times, a time before the human and non-human races were forever divided. An era of power and glory, the 'Days of the Dungeon'. A legend so old and mythical, it has been lost in the flow of time. During this age, greater beings descended upon the lower realms to find entertainment. They roamed the surface of the Mortal Realm, bestowing blessings upon whom they pleased, which gave those fortunate few the chance to transcend the limits of their flesh, and taste the experience of an existence beyond what they could conceive. These greater beings called themselves 'Gods', and their children whom they bestowed their blessings upon were called 'adventurers'. These brave mortals strove to become something greater than the rest of their kin, by facing the trials of the treacherous and ever perilous Dungeon. And in the centuries that followed, many found glory where others found only their demise. But there was 'one' adventurer, who sought something that even the so-called gods could not imagine. A mortal boy who fought for what he stood for to the end, and achieved something beyond anything that anyone of that world could dream of. A child that faced the greatest of tribulations, and came out above all who had preceded him. And he was known...as the King of Chaos. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Join my Patreon: Patreon/ Vulkizaro_Zoromi

Kratos

The boy raised his arms to the heavens as divine lightning descended from the sky into his palms, for his to bend, for him to command. The powers of a god flowing in the hands of a mortal as Lyze even in his mindless rage embraced his chosen divine name to the fullest extent. And Olympus opened its gates wide, fully accepting him in return as it bestowed its power on to him while at the same time informing every other Olympian god in Genkai of his name.

When Lyze found that he had charged up sufficiently, he looked down the mountain slope and into the eyes of Typhon who had picked itself up and was snarling in his direction as it also began charging up energy. With a growl, Lyze pointed his palm in the direction of the Desecration and a lightning bolt of Arcanum blasted forwards, almost searing reality itself apart as it raced towards the giant monster and slammed right into its chest.

Typhon was flung back into the ground and drilled into it as its body was propelled along by the continued force of the sustained lightning attack. As it was ragdolled, Typhon screamed in indignation while flailing its multiple limbs about. The attack stopped when Lyze ran out of charge and he stopped generating the lightning and simply stood on top of the bisected mountain, still steaming with rage as the icy peak around him began melting from the heat that his body was generating.

Typhon lay in the ground for bit, before it pulled itself up and smashed its fists into the ground. Having grown a thousand feet now, its physical might had been amplified by a great degree...so the tremors from the impact of its fists had houses collapsing all the way back in Orario. A boulder of ice dislodged from up the slope that Lyze was stood on and began rolling straight in his direction as Typhon's ground slam began an avalanche all around him.

The boulder rolled downwards, gaining momentum and struck a smaller rock, bouncing up and spinning in the air as it seemed like it was about to hit Lyze perfectly like a pre-planned shot. But contrary to people's belief, the moment it hit his body, it just smashed into smaller ice shards while he didn't even twitch. It was like he'd not even felt being hit by a giant ice block that weighed a dozen tons.

Typhon shrieked as it charged its blast attack and fired a beam of magic powered by Origin magic in Lyze's direction. The boy flew up in the air just in time as the beam attack blasted right through mountain top and through to the other side, disappearing into the horizon. Lyze levitated in the air as he called upon more Olympian lightning from the sky, this time using his whole body as charging point. His muscles bulged with veins as Arcanum was converted into physical augmentation.

Had Lyze done this in a normal state, he would have been instantly eviscerated the moment he'd accepted even a drop of the power he was accepting now. But at this moment, in his limit-off state, there was no threshold for him, no line where his powers couldn't grow beyond. For as Loki said, he had true infinite potential. His rage and his embrace of a divine name had temporarily given him a body that could channel such a power.

Power of such devastating degree, and yet not a moment wasted with it as Lyze immediately dive bombed the abomination in an instant as smashed his fist into its face. Typhon's body flipped as its head was smashed into the earth, creating a giant crater as a great dust storm was thrown up into the air and it felt like the entire tectonic plate shifted. The residents in Melen were the ones most affected by this supposition as the sea suddenly rushed in and flooded the village.

But the impact had created a sound like a thunderclap on land, and the planet felt like it had been struck like a bell as vibrations travelled throughout the continent. One the other side of the planet, volcanoes both on land and under water suddenly erupted as a wave of pressure smashed into them. For that was the power of simply a small pittance of Arcanum. Any wonder why the gods had forbidden it in their great game?

Lyze blitzed out of the way as a dragon head snapped at him and promptly vaporized it with divine lighting before slapping another head with so much force that it just turned into a bloody mist. But in the next moment, he had to put up his guard as Typhon's arm came around and smashed into his arms with dozens of times more force than before and sent him flying. The monster up-righted itself again and regenerated its lost parts instantly as it grinned. Its body glowed for a moment before it grew yet again in size about another couple hundred feet.

...

"Did you see that goddess?" A young woman asked as she stared at the magical screen. "It's absorbing power from that boy. Every time he hits it, its just becomes stronger!"

The deity in question was Demeter, who herself was still lost in the shock of her homeland in the upper world suddenly calling out to her and identifying to her the new upcoming member of her kin. The boy was not properly ascended, but she knew just as well as every other Olympian out there that in the halls of Olympus, another throne had just been made, waiting for the day it would be occupied by the young boy fighting that worrying creature out there.

"It is...concerning, Persephone." The Olympian goddess of harvests muttered. "That must have been the kind of monsters the first descending gods fell prey to. It's able to absorb divine power..." She put a finger to her cheek as her brow furrowed in worry. "...Kratos...a powerful name...but a danger all the same. What is Zeus's verdict I wonder?"

...

Typhon spread its limbs out in all directions in some sort of pose which had even the numb godling currently facing it pausing for a moment as Lyze tried to anticipate what would happen next. Typhon smiled a sickly grin as suddenly its skin started to bubble in every place. It was like watching bubbles form in boiling oil as the skin created waves with whatever was prompting such an occurrence beneath the surface.

It continued until the bubbles became more like warts, whereupon those warts just exploded, releasing rivers of blood and pus which was just a horrible business to witness. But disgust was not the Desecration's intent. Because out of those warts fell legions upon legions of newly birthed monsters of all varieties from the Upper Floors to the Deep Floors.

Lyze was faced with hordes of dragons, wyverns, barbarians, minotaurs, garous, orcs, goblin, bloodsauruses, and many many other monsters picking themselves up from the ground as muck trailed down their pus soaked bodies. The stench of rotting corpses filled the land as the soil was made to drink in the filth that that had been released from Typhon in this freak show.

It was just like its namesake, the titan of mythology, able to father all monsters and control them in their swarms. Had Lyze a conscious mind at the moment and had he known its name, the irony would not have been lost on him. Typhon roared it gave the command to attack while it began regenerating the many holes in its body while also trying to regain the blood volume it had lost.

Lyze had no worries about the ground monsters. It was the ones that took to the air that he concerned himself with. Not batting an eye at the thousands upon thousands of monsters he now had to face alone, he blasted right off and headfirst into a wyvern, whose body he just pierced through completely with his own and left an explosion of blood and guts behind him, not even caring that he'd got the mess on him.

A swarm of bat monsters began to give chase as the liquid metal flowing from around his arms became sharp projections which he used to skewer them as he weaved in and out between their numbers like meat on barbecue spits. A faction of them broke off from the battle and gained some distance as they opened their mouths. At the right moment, they all released their supersonic shrieks, not caring as the sound blasts disorientated their own kin, only happy because it froze the boy for a moment and made him stop fighting to shake the ringing from his head.

That pause was all they needed for them to dogpile him in the air, one after another until there was just a giant ball of bats in the air. A silver glow began to emanate from within the cluster before a massive explosion exploded from within, a bast wave of silver fire both incinerating and flinging airborne monsters out in every direction as Lyze emerged, fire licking his from as electricity fizzed around his fingertips, spilling out of his eyes too.

Focusing on a dragon flying towards him, he fired his heat vision and sliced the beast right in half with the laser beam before making the beams travel and bisect many other monsters that had come to meet him in the air. He then began flying around the thousands of acres worth of the battle field as he directed the laser to the ground and into the hordes on foot, burning right through them and creating bomb like explosions as he incinerated wave after wave of monsters.

Typhon followed the boy with its eyes, timing its next move as it blasted a Howl at Lyze. The giant sonic rings captured the boy perfectly and blasted him into the other half of the split mountain. Lyze's body buried itself deep into the rock as the boy's head swam for a moment before Lyze snarled and summoned power from Olympus yet again.

This time it looked like the sky itself fell to the battlefield as a tornado of clouds and lighting formed, although this descended from the sky to the ground as the twister began sucking in different monsters and churned them into mush while spitting out forks of divine lightning. Lyze the held out a palm and clenched his fingers as he made another call into the world.

...

The Loki Familia cradled their wounded and their dead as they looked up at the giant hole that had been created in the ceiling of the 49th Floor. The walls of that hole was still dripping with molten rock as daylight came through from the outside world. It was a disappointment though that none of the fresh air had reached them as all they could smell was ash and soot.

Raul who was barely conscious from the events twitched as he saw a mound of rubble begin shaking as it looked like something was trying to force its way out of the same pile he was lying on. His eyes widened as Excalibur suddenly shoved its way out, gleaming with light and magical power as it began flying away, beheld in the sight of the adventurers as they knew exactly where and to whom it was going.

The Holy Sword span as it flew up the hole and to the surface. As it broke through to the ground above, it immediately made a beeline for the Beol Mountain range. Lyze who had stood up in expectance of it, caught sight of the weapon as it began to travel up the mountain. It skewered a Flame Rock and dragged the stone monolith up the mountain slope to the boy who simply just punched the monster into rock fragments and grabbed ahold of his lost weapon.

Bracing himself as he looked down the slope at the monsters who were climbing up, he tensed his legs as the ground cracked beneath him before he shot off in a flash of lightning. Following that were monsters who suddenly exploded into blood and bones as the boy cut through them all like dolls. Monsters he'd been struggling against not half an hour earlier now barely worth his time. When Lyze reached the base of the mountain, he flew up in to the air, pointed Excalibur downwards before dropping back to the ground and driving the sword into the ground.

The earth split open in multiple places as caverns were revealed, swallowing up hordes all at once, sending them down to a miserable and grim end as Typhon struggled to stay upright. It roared again as it lifted an arm and from its side exploded out a Black Goliath in another shower of blood. The monster rex flicked the body fluids out of its hair before it went thundering towards the boy, the ground shaking beneath its feet as it also drove its fists into the ground while it ran, much like a gorilla's run.

Lyze stood still and fearless, unmoving as this giant strode up to him and lifted a foot to stomp down on him. The boy simply lifted an arm and stopped the foot mid-air like he were catching a ball. The ground did not even crack under the impact, meaning Lyze had negated the stomp with the power of his arm alone. With a firm shove, Lyze sent the Goliath flying back several dozen feet onto its back as it gaped in surprise at being thrown like a sack. It frantically tried to get up, but Excalibur lodged itself between its eyes, making it roar in pain as it reached for it face.

But then its body began to rise in the air as Lyze lifted the monster rex by holding onto the sword. Using this grip, Lyze began to fly while swinging the monster rex around until he was creating a small tornado with how fast he was swinging the giant monster. Eventually the pull from the swinging became too much and Lyze ripped out Excalibur at the right moment as he sent the monster flying back at Typhon. Two hundred plus tonnes of Black Goliath smashed right into the face of the Desecration, exploding in a mess of flesh, bones and blood as Typhon was sent sprawling.

Lyze rose in the air as he stuck Excalibur behind his back by shoving it into the seam on his pants. He raised his hands to the sky again as he summoned Olympus's power once more. The black storm clouds thickened as they gathered even closer together. Everything went silent for a moment before hundreds upon hundreds of lightning bolts came raining down from the sky. This time they did not charge up the boy but impacted the monsters directly and decimated the entire army of monsters instantaneously besides Typhon.

The Desecration found itself under a very different situation this time as a giant net made of Olympian lightning kept it pinned down and unable to get up. Each struggle it made to break out was met with severe electrocution until its nerves were burnt out.

The boy ascended into the sky, close to the mouth in the clouds where he'd first summoned the lightning from as he suddenly felt a calling from the heavens, like some sort of purpose or mission that Olympus had in store for him. Pretty much by an instinctual compulsion, he lifted his arms and the liquid metal took the form of chains with familiar blades attached at the end which he held to the sky.

...

In Babel Tower, Hephaestus's eye widened as she felt her own divine Sphere activate as Olympus called upon her authority as a divine blacksmith. Feeling compelled by her birthplace, and the fact that the boy she'd been rather interested in lately for his smithing talents had now turned out be one of her close kin in her Pantheon, she gave permission for Olympus to do with her power whatever it wanted. In return, she felt herself being given by Olympus some form of guardianship over...something.

A something that revealed itself in the very next sequence of events.

---

Outside of the mortal realm, in a dimension far more elevated than the flawed world and even further inaccessible to all creatures besides the celestial beings born in that place itself, there existed a great mountain. But no mountain could possibly compare to this, for it was no more of a mountain than it was by itself a planet of its own within Tenkai. Given its sheer size, it very well may have been described as much.

For whoever heard of a mountain with multiple different sides to it, different lands and geologies on a single peak, of ice and fire, of soil and green, of barren states and great cities of marble and gold?

As one slowly travelled more and more up the mountain, the greater and better the sights became as the degree of power of the beings living on the mountain became stronger. When one would reach the top, there they would find the place known as Olympus, home of the Olympian gods, with the Keep of Zeus as the highest and greatest construct on the very tip of its point. Below it were the residences of the other gods, those of stations lesser than the king of Olympus.

But even with the arrogant old man's house overlooking it all, there were still some places that found it difficult to fall short of the magnificence of the High Father's house. One such building was a great pillared temple built from the cleanest and purest marble that no mortal eyes had ever seen, adorned with great golden braziers housing roaring flames, significant of the particular deity living within. Surrounding this temple was a giant orchard of apple trees.

Within this temple on a raised couch of embroidered pillows napped a short little goddess with black hair and a very well endowed chest. A little snot bubble inflated and deflated with each breath she took as she snored her eternity away.

Some metres away from her was a great hearth that housed a Fire not all too different from the ones in the braziers in terms of appearance. But only a fool would believe it to be anything close to the truth. For if one were to draw close to this particular flame, they would feel the heavy concentration of Arcanum and divine power in this orange-red flame.

This was the Flame of Olympus, the symbolic heart of the mountain's power...and the sleeping goddess was none other than its guardian and protector, the virgin goddess, Hestia.

The laziest known Olympian of all.

...

What roused the great Hestia from her sleep was a sudden intensifying of heat from the fire, and two bright blue eyes opened up to stare right at the hearth containing a divine fire which was now suddenly billowing up and climbing up in the air.

"HUH!" She yelled as she quickly sat up and clutched the edge of her seat and watched as the Flame began to frolic about wildly, as if trying to escape the confines of its hearth where it had been staying for so long.

Just then, her mind was hit with a wave of information that she'd been too busy sleeping to notice before. Few Olympian gods were powerful enough to just casually ignore a psychic message from the mountain itself in important times. Hestia was one such powerful exception though many and most did underestimate her.

Images of a young black-haired boy, a mortal no less from the mortal world she so much wanted to travel to one day, bombarded her mind as Mount Olympus itself sent salutations and goodwill upon this boy, like welcoming a family member home. Not much else came to her in revelation besides the boy's new name, a name that resonated both with her and with the rest of the mountain.

"Kratos." She whispered in shock and awe, that a mortal hidden in the lower world was now being acknowledged by the mountain as an upcoming Olympian, and no minor one at that...no, he was powerful.

Or at the very least, his future power as an Olympian promised itself to be greater than anything anyone had ever seen. Even from all the way up here in the realm of the gods, she could sense the deep primordial fire that lived in the boy's soul, a wellspring of energy from the spark of creation. It was no wonder that this boy was chosen by fate to join their ranks. Hestia then flinched as she probed a little deeper.

"...so angry." She shivered. "Don't tell me it's another god of war...Ares is bad enough."

She was then distracted as suddenly the Flame in her hearth suddenly shot out a plume of fire right through her roof, melting a hole right through it as what looked like a solar flare soared into the sky of her realm.

"MY ROOF!" She shouted in indignation as she clenched her fists in cute anger. She then studied the trajectory of that flare from the Flame using her senses as its guardian and protector, and suddenly realized where this portion of the Flame's power was going.

"The mortal realm." She gasped in wonder.

Hestia was not the sharpest tool in the box, but it didn't take her long to figure out where this dangerous power was headed...but it was still her fire no less! She was responsible for guarding ALL of it, no matter if the Flame had suddenly just decided to split itself into two parts. Wherever the second piece was going, she had to follow it and safeguard it, especially if it was going down to live amongst the mortals.

She'd been planning to go down to the mortal realm in a few years to start a Familia just like Hephaestus had done...it looked she would just have to advance it now.

---

The entire continent seemed to illuminate itself with light as what looked like a solar flare descended from the mouth in the sky upon the boy who was holding his blades up to greet it. As soon as the piece of the Flame of Olympus came near to him, it suddenly began to assimilate and absorb itself into his blades.

And that was what snapped the boy out of his mad rage.

Because as the blades absorbed the divine fire, the chains that were wrapped around his arms began to glow red hot as well and sear their image into his flesh. Only it was not just his flesh being seared, but also his soul being imprinted as well with the burden of a formidable source of power that rivalled the intensity of the Origin Flame within him.

Lyze began to scream in agony as the smell of cooked meat filled his nostrils and he looked up to see that almost all of the flare had been absorbed by the blades. And no matter how hard he tried, he could not pull away. It felt like he'd made some sort of pact, or agreement which he couldn't pull away from. And the price of the power he was being given was the severe pain he was feeling. A mindless beast wouldn't be able to feel this pain and this pact, which was why Lyze resurfaced as he became aware of his surroundings again.

Finally the last of the flare was absorbed into the blades, the weapons which were now glowing with the light of said fire inside them as he gasped in relief as the pain disappeared. He heaved a few laboured breaths before looking down at his new weapons, his eyes bulging as he felt the pulsating power within them, more potent than anything he'd ever felt before with the exception of Chaos. And yet what a fitting time to reference the entity, for he had unwittingly created something onto himself which shared the same name.

A set of iconic weapons that came along with the new name he chosen, a name now carved right onto his soul as it now became more than just a skill...it was the basis of his being, of his living, his new identity which had now shackled him to this reality just as Nekros had warned him.

And now he held up in his hands the instruments of destruction that would uphold both the magnificence and the malevolence of his new name.

"The Blades of Chaos..."
