2. The wolf and the system

David stood in a clearing surrounded by a very dense forest packed with plentiful types of creatures, trees and vegetation marveling at the beauty of where he arrived at. After taking a couple minutes to appreciate where he was David remembered that most of these creatures could be deadly and it should be about time to get moving.

Looking to his left he sees what looks like a mountain in the distance, and decides to head that way hoping climbing it will give him a view of the land. With a destination in mind David's adventure finally begins, David reached close to the base of the mountain in about 4 hours.

Surprisingly along the way not one creature attacked him, actually he didn't see any come close to the path he was walking on. As he got to the tree line a resounding two roars can be heard, carefully exiting the cover of the trees David climbs to the top of a massive boulder right in front of the tree line.

Looking out from the top of this boulder the image of two animals facing each other in front of a cave can be seen. The one facing the cave is close to 2 meters tall resembling a saber tooth tiger with bronze and black striped fur. The one in front of the cave was a meter and a half tall midnight black wolf, it was clear even from this distance that was badly injured and protecting whatever is in the cave.

DING!!

Suddenly a transparent screen appears in front of him, the screen gave him a task with the reward of the thing he was looking forward to.

David quickly comes up with a plan gets to work, for the first part of his plan he takes a rag wipe his sweat with it and throws it in front of the boulder. He then takes a can of the scent hider and sprays himself with it, with part 1 done he strings an arrow on his bow and releases it after drawing it to the maximum.

Once the arrow is released David lays down and back out of view on top of the boulder, the arrow hits the tiger square in its back right above it's left hind leg.

Feeling the arrow pierce it the brutal tiger becomes agitated and quickly whips around to look for who shot it. The brutal tiger runs towards the boulder and follows the scent it smelled to the spot the rag is laying. Thinking it's now or never David pulls out his collapsible spear and leaps off of the boulder into the air above the tiger. Facing the head of the spear downward he slams it in and through the neck of the tiger.

Letting go of the shaft of the spear David jumps off the tiger and land a foot away, not taking any chances he quickly draws his katana. Luckily it was not needed as the spear pierced through the tiger's wind pipe and a major artery making it die quickly.

"COME HERE BRAVE TRAVELLER"

DING!!

David hears a voice in his head followed by the Apperance of another transparent screen.

Seeing the new set of information David becomes shocked that the voice he heard was the Wolf's. David quickly approaches the wolf and asks her if she was the one that called out to him, in his mind he hears a feminine voice reply yes and asks why he wasn't surprised that she could communicate.

David replies that he is but that he knows not to doubt it cause anything is possible. With that out the way the mother wolf proceeds to ask for a favor, but first she would like a look at his katana. David's katana has a blsde with a length of 70cm that is crafted with obsidian causing it to appear midnight black in color, the hilt was square with a wolf and moon carving with red and black wrapping on the handle.

She admires it and asks him of two things, the first is for him to take care of her last pup who is inside the cave and give him a name. The second thing is that he end her life with the katana he just showed her, and to feed her core to her pup.

Looking at the status interface that just appeared in front of him David notices 4 tabs next to it, three of which are greyed out. The tab not greyed out was labeled skill shop, the three grey one's were party, friend's list, chat.

After reading all of the information on the interface David tells the mother wolf that he'll do it and walks into the cave. Sitting in the back of this cave on the left side laid a little pup about 1 foot in length, if not for the flashlight he brung he would of missed him laying there.

Picking up the pup a screen appears asking for a name, deciding to keep it simple David names him shadow. The moment he says the name he receives notifications of completing the task and a status for shadow.

With shadow in his hand David heads back to the caves entrance. At the entrance David proceeds to ask shadow's mother if she's ready, she replies with not yet and says that she has one more thing to say.

She tells him that after her death he should get as far away as possible, that her aura is the only thing keeping the other monsters away from this area. She then asks if she could know the name he chose for her son, he tells her and she gives a giggle before giving him a final farewell.

" Shadow such a fitting name, may all who cross your path die swiftly under your paws carrying eternal darkness" " I am ready brave traveler"

With a nod of his head David places shadow on the ground as he draws his katana and cuts off the mother Wolf's head.
