Hanging Emotions

This was the day Mercy had been waiting for. She was finally going to spend a day with her a crush on a school trip. Mercy's crush's name was Brighton, a senior in high school who happened to be a perfect as well.

Unknown to her that her class was going share the bus with the other senior class. Mercy's realisation of the program left her frustrated and annoyed. She thereby laid her head against the window of the bus.

She restricted herself from having fun and excitement but instead drowned herself in music. A few hours later after her battery died,Mercy noticed a certain guy in the crowd. His name was Wayne,a jovial intellectual, well cultured and modest who happened to be the schools deputy headboy.

" He is well collected" she said to herself, shortly afterwards she found herself gazing at him.

It was only a few days after this incident that the two made an encounter in the school Scripture Union club, where the two got to know each other. Mercy had always had feelings for Wayne but was unable to express them, on the other hand Wayne expressed interest in her but she suppressed them.

Wayne continued to chase after Mercy but to no avail. Finally Mercy gave in and the two started communicating. It was not long after Mercy noticed that the relationship was consuming her time to study.

Mercy was stuck between making a name for herself like he did or sacrificing her education and following her heart. She knew she couldn't let her parents down but she too wasn't ready to let go of the guy she fell in love with. Torn between two important things in her life Mercy knew she had to make a decision fast!

She finally made a decision to let go of the high school throb and focus more on her education just like he did too. The relationship between her and Wayne was slowly dying out. From talking all day to talking once a fortnight.

She still had hoped they would get back together once she finished her education and would finally express her feelings for him. But the surrounding and the people made this impossible for her. Rumour mongering about him dating another girl and every sign pointing to it just shattered the hope of their love story.

Acting like nothing bothered her every time they met,was slowly killing her. She tried Wondering what she did wrong but to no avail,"I gave all I thought was necessary" she continued telling herself.

And every night she went to bed she remembered how insecure his friends made her feel and just how easy he was willing to move on.

Whether he did move on for sure or he just got tired of her failure to express feelings to him is unknown .

The future is not certain, but an encounter between the two to clear the misunderstandings would be the perfect start for a brand new beginning.
