School Thoughts

At school, I immediately feel a rush of anger when I see Marinette.

I know y/n said they've moved past it, and I'm glad, but it still makes me mad that she said those things.

How would she even go about stopping us, anyway?

Stand guard at y/n's house to keep me away?

As if that would work.

Going to see y/n was, and still is the best part of my days.

I hope my visits won't have to cease anytime soon, but if being Guardian has to pause them, I'll wait.

It would be crushing, but I'll wait.

Because I know she would love taking care of the kwamis, and I'm sure she can handle the responsibility.

Master Fu had mentioned it to me before, and I said I thought it'd be a great match, although then I didn't realize we may have to put our relationship on hold.

Hopefully we won't have to, the kwamis and Master Fu could decide that it's safe.

I get that there was situations where it wasn't safe, but it should be fine now.

"Dude!" Nino suddenly says to me, braking my train of thought.

"Hm?" I mumble, looking to him.

"Are you coming? Class is over!"

"Oh! Right, yeah. Sorry, just lost in thought."

"I didn't realize you were so interested in Shakespeare."

"Yeah, uh, great stuff."

"Bro, I know you're not really that into it, we weren't even talking about Shakespeare."

"We wasn't?"

"Nope."

"Oh no. I thought I was paying some attention, but maybe not."

"I'll give you my notes, but what's on your mind? More lady troubles?"

"Uh, in a way?"

"What's up?"

"It's not like it sounds, y/n and I are great! But considering she's technically not girlfriend," I lower my voice, "I can't explain to my mom that pushing me at any girl my age isn't a good thing."

"Ahh. Can't you do the same thing you did with me? No names?"

"No way, she'd immediately want to meet, have dinner, all that good stuff."

"Right. Tough situation, dude."

"Yeah."

We have to sit down and be quiet now, so our conversation is halted.

Of course I can't say that what I was actually thinking about, since very few can actually know who the Guardian is.

Plus, it's not like he could really give me any advice about it, since it's more so up to what Master Fu and the kwamis decide, than what we want.

If that was the case, it wouldn't matter.

Maybe if we both talked to Master Fu we could convince him that it will be safe?

I know she's going to be there doing her training stuff today, I might drop by.

If I have time after fencing, and then Mom will be expecting me.

Maybe Master Fu stays up late enough for me to stop tonight?

I need to think about this later, before I get in trouble for not paying attention.

Luckily, if I get a bad grade Mom won't care nearly as much as Father would.

Have to keep up the perfect child appearance.

Not anymore.

Mom actually laughs if I mess up a little, or understands if I miss a question.

How I got one great parent and one monster I'll never understand.

Of course, Father wasn't so bad before Mom disappeared.

Maybe if he'd not been so weird about the situation he could've gotten some closure, but no, he had to go and terrorize Paris.

I can't help but wonder if Mom will be visiting him in prison.

If she does, he's probably going to try and tell her my secret.

Too bad for him, we made it to where he can't.

But I feel like she's eventually going to find out.

She may just see me and know.

Hopefully, if she does find out, nothing bad will happen, and she'll be fine with it.

"Adrien?" The teacher asks.

"Uh, yes?" Is what I say, but is what I think.

"What's the answer?"

"Could you repeat the question?"

Luckily it's not a math question so I don't miss it.

After that I pay attention, though I can't help but resume my thoughts at lunch.

"Hey, Adrien, do you wanna catch a movie with us tonight?" Alya asks.

"Tonight? I don't think I can, I'm kinda busy."

"Come on, dude, you never go out with us!" Nino insists.

"You know I stay busy. Not as much as before, but there's still lots to do. I have fencing later, and then Mom will expect me home."

"After fencing, and I bet your mom would understand! You said she's super chill."

"She is, but there's still other stuff..."

"Like what?" Mariette asks.

I almost glare at her, but then I realize that wouldn't be very nice and I had better not.

"Well I was planning to see an older uh, relative of mine."

Master Fu very well could be a wise grandfatherly figure.

"Are you just making up excuses?" Alya asks.

"No! I do want to hang out with you guys, I'm just busy." I look down at my lunch, not feeling so hungry anymore.

I feel bad for never really hanging out with them, but I think I'd feel a little like a third wheel outside of school.

Nino and Alya are together, and I don't know what Mariette has going on, she might even still like me!

And it's not like I can really mention the fact that I'm dating someone, because that would lead to an Alya interrogation.

Plus I was wanting to speak with Master Fu.

"How about we text your mom and see if she's cool with it?" Nino asks, gesturing to my phone beside me.

I usually don't take it out, but y/n had tried to send me a picture of a kwami she was meeting, but that didn't work out well.

"She might be busy, I don't wanna bother her."

"Too late!" Nino grabs my phone and turns it on.

"Nino! Give me that!"

"This is for your own good, trust me! You need to live it up for once!"

He holds it out of my reach and tries to type in the password, but I doubt he'll be able to figure it out.

"Ugh, what's the password? Dude, open it yourself or tell me!"

I can't help but notice the look Alya gives Mariette, and I wonder what that's about.

"Give it here."

"Are you gonna unlock it?"

"Maybe."

"I'm not dumb, bro!"

He tries again, but doesn't get it.

"Please give it back." I can feel my face getting red as I watch him type in y/n's name, he's getting close.

"OH I know!"

He hits the A.

The N.

The G.

I bite my lip in anticipation.

The E.

And finally, the L.

"SUCCESS!"

My face feels like exploding.

"Jeez, was it something super weird?! He looks like a tomato!" Alya laughs.

"Not weird, just cute. He's a total softie, you know."

"Yeah yeah, that's old news."

"I hate you guys." I mutter.

"No you don't!" Alya and Nino tease.

Nino gets the text sent to Mom, and she quickly replies that it's fine.

"Whoo! Movie night! And I'll even buy your snacks." Nino offers.

"You better!" I say as the lunch bell rings.

"You're so cheesy." Nino whispers as he gives me back my phone.

"I know." I admit.
