Movies

After school I'm quickly followed by Nino.

"So we're gonna try and figure out what movie to watch while you fence, then we'll run the suggestions past you, cool?"

"I guess. I won't be too long, also, nothing over two hours please?"

"You got it, bro."

"Thanks."

I head to fencing, and go get ready, and let Plagg get settled in my locker.

"You gotta let me sit somewhere so I can see too! What if it's a cool movie with explosions?!"

"We'll figure something out." I laugh and close the door.

When I go out, I find Kagami and Felix have already arrived and are waiting for class to start.

I don't know what's going on with them, but they sure seem to hang out often.

Felix must be being respectful though, because I know if he wasn't Kagami would have used a less safe saber with him.

I possibly would have joined in.

I go over and greet them, but we can't get into a conversation before Mr. D'Argencourt comes in and tells us to start.

Felix and I get paired, which is a bit unfair to him because when this happens I always remember what all he's done and it gives me an urge to win.

So I win our match, and he congratulates me, for some reason.

He might be up to something.

Hopefully he won't be, for his own sake.

If y/n does become the Guardian and gets to keep Kaalki, I would give her the suggestion of sending him to a jungle somewhere.

Class ends on time, as usual, so I get Plagg and my things and go out to meet my friends.

On the way out though, I bump into someone, coming out of a different door.

"Oh, sorry." I quickly say, but almost take it back when I see who it is.

"It's fine." Jean says.

"Wait a second, you're Adrien Agreste, right?" He asks.

"Yeah."

"So that thing we did a while back, the homeschool exchange program?"

I swear, if this is going where I think it is I'm gonna sign this guy up for fencing too.

"Yes. What about it?"

"That girl that came here, y/n? You were her guide, right?"

"Uh-huh." I try not to glare at him.

"Did you by any chance get her number?"

"Why do you want to know?"

"I was hoping you could hook a dude up!"

"First of all, I'm not going to give out people's numbers to random people, second, wasn't there a whole lot going on around the fact that she has a boyfriend?"

"Well, yeah, but hey, people break up all the time!"

"I think they're still together, I've seen them around before."

"So I've got some competition. No big."

"Listen, I'm not going to give you her number, but I will tell you that I know she could give you the beating of your life if you don't leave her alone."

"Jeez, thanks for nothing." He rolls his eyes and walks off.

"You are so welcome." I mutter.

"I can't figure it out. Are you jealous or just protective or what?!" Plagg pipes up.

"I just want these people to leave her alone."

"Sure, kid."

Hopefully I don't look too mad as I find the trio and join them.

"Dang, bro, how many people were you fencing at once?!" Nino asks.

Apparently I'm just red.

"Oh ya know, just ten." I joke.

"Looks like!"

We go over the movie suggestions and finally decide on one.

As we walk to the theater we get on the topic of Lila helping Hawkmoth, brought up by Alya.

"I heard she's in the juvenile prison place, pretty much in solitary confinement!" She says.

"See, I told you she was bad news." Marinette reminds her.

"I suppose you were right." Alya laughs.

I zone out of the conversation and mostly just look around.

When I realize where we are passing, I can't help but glance at the windows, even though I know I won't be able to see anything.

Before I realize she's even stopped talking to Alya, Marinette is beside me.

"Y/n is in there isn't she? She's training to be the new Guardian, right?"

"Uh, yeah. She has been for a few days now."

"What does Master Fu think?"

"He says she'd be good for the job, if she'll take it."

"Why wouldn't she?"

"Well, you know how Master has to wait to be with Marianne? He doesn't know if y/n and I will have to do that too, yet."

"Oh." She looks surprised, and even a bit sympathetic.

Yet I feel like there may be a hopeful glint in her eyes.

"Of course, we'll just wait like Master Fu and Marianne have." I say.

"Right."

We've reached the theater now, and wait in line to get our tickets and snacks.

"OK dude, since I promised to get your snacks, what do you want?" Nino asks.

"Hmm, a little of everything, I think." I tease.

"Then you're buying it yourself!"

We laugh and eventually agree to get popcorn and some candies.

I can't help but grin when I see that y/n's favorites are placed right next to my favorites.

We find the right room, and go into the darkness.

As we look for a good place to sit, I assume the arrangement will go Marinette, Alya, Nino, Me, so the couple can sit together, but also have their friends next to them.

But instead, Marinette takes the chair beside mine.

"You don't want to sit with Alya?" I ask.

"Nah, her and Nino always argue during movies and somehow I get the end spoiled because of it."

"Huh. I guess I'll have to tune them out."

I try and situate my bag where Plagg can see, but nothing works.

"What are you doing?!" Marinette hisses as the trailers start.

"Plagg wants to watch too!" I explain.

"I figured this out ages ago, give him here."

Plagg flies over as hidden as he can, and then gets himself settled  with Tikki in the back of the open seat next to Marinette, and somehow they can see but also be hidden, by phasing through.

"Neat idea."

"Thanks. Tikki loves coming with me here."

"Plagg usually prefers to stay home and watch any movies with destruction."

"That tracks."

We quiet down and enjoy the film, lucky for Plagg there's some explosives.

Maybe getting out wasn't so bad after all, I've had fun.

Contrary to what Marinette said, Alya and Nino's arguments over what would happen was very humorous.

When the credits roll we start trying to make our way out, and for those of us with them, get our kwamis safely hidden.

"OK, I admit it, this was fun. Thanks, guys." I say as we leave.

"Sure thing, dude. I know you've always got something going on, but sometimes you just gotta step back and chill a while!" Nino responds, with some sound advice.

We split up and go our separate ways, with me heading back towards Master Fu's.

Once I turn down the more hidden street for his back door, I see y/n coming out.

I start to call out to her, but the greeting dies before it passes my lips when I see that she's crying.

I pick up the pace and run to her, but when she hears my footsteps she looks up and for a second there's fear, she must've thought I  was one of the creeps that hang around.

But the fear quickly melts into tears when she sees it's me.

She holds her arms out as I get close, so I immediately pull her into a hug.

"Angel, what's going on? Are you OK?"

She doesn't say anything, just shakes her head 'no' against my chest.

"What's wrong?"

"He-he said we ha-ve to, we can't be t-together." She chokes out, clutching onto me tighter.
