"Dr. Qiao, the patient in bed 20 suddenly had a myocardial infarction, please go and check on him immediately."

"Alright."

Lu Moqing was gazing at Qiao Xu, lost in thought, when a sudden frantic voice pulled his thoughts back.

Qiao Xu had already put away the medical record folder in front of her and ran quickly towards the front ward with the intern.

He stood there, not moving, and, ten minutes later, saw Qiao Xu coming out of the ward, exhaling a long breath with some sweat on her forehead.

Just looking at her like that, he felt a sense of unwarranted heartache.

Qiao Xu took the medical record folder out of the ward, looked at her watch, and saw that it was almost off-duty time.

Out of habit, she would make one last round to her patients' rooms before leaving work every day.

With her head bowed, she walked while flipping through the medical records in her hand, oblivious to the fact that there was another person right in front of her, and her head hit him squarely.
