I hired a cab from the little town and headed back to Tochigo. I knew that Kyeiko's life was hanging by a thread. But because of the wind and snow that picked up on the road we traveled at a snail pace. I did not want to draw any attention and hence opted to stay low as I donned a mask around my mouth and sunglasses.
We arrived at Tochigo an hour later and I heard from the hotel that Elder Zaya was staying. The security at the hotel was so tight and it made me realize that it was guarded by the Yakuza. Once the door opened, Haida stood on the other end and she moved forward and slapped me. I was so surprised that my jaw hung open and then she pulled me close and embraced me.
"I will not be forgiving next time. " She whispered as my hands went round her back and rubbed it slowly to comfort her.
" The slap was unnecessary " I whispered back but a small smile played on my lips as to how much fire she had.
