A Contact

In a grand room with white decor and expensive interior, an exquisite beauty slowly opened her eyes.

"You are awake.", a voice called out. A voice that was heavy, dripping with honey and thick sugar syrup and yet warm and dangerous like hellfire.

"You obviously know what happened.", Xiao Wei shrugged her shoulder.

This man knew where she was and pulled her out of there when she didn't know how to get out. Of course he'd know. She knew that shw didn't face any external difficulty because of him.

"Did you consider my proposal?" Wallace asked as he walked towards the bed and sat of the corner to take Xiao Wei's temperature.

"I'll marry you.", Xiao Wei then continued, "But I have my conditions too. They're very simple. We'll not get intimate. You won't hurt me. Mentally or Physically. You can't see or get involved with any other woman while our time together. Once our contract ends, you may do whatever you want."

It was easy for Wallace to agree to all the conditions Xiao Wei put on the table, but the last sentence was like a needle in his heart.

A contract. Of course. A contract is all it was to her.

I need this man's help to uncover my identity. My past. Are my parents really how they portray themselves? Only I know how uncomfortable and empty it feels to remember nothing. And if all I remember are things arranged according to someone else's plans, I must get my memories back.

Wallace naturally knew what she was thinking.

"Let's go. To the marriage bureau."

"Alright."

On their way back from the marriage bureau, Xiao Wei sat in the car quietly as she pondered upon the fact that she's a married woman now. She deliberately didn't inform the Zhe family because of her impending suspicions.

At that moment, Wallace suddenly reached out for Xiao Wei's chin with one hand.

He looked deeply into her eyes. If Xiao Wei was considered the Goddess of the whole city, Wallace could be said the Devil. And when the light and dark stood together they looked like the epitome of higher beings.

For a moment, Xiao Wei was captivated. She couldn't move. Mostly because she was surprised by the sudden approach that interrupted her thoughts. But just as she was about to push him back, he closed his eyes and planted a deep kiss on Xiao Wei's lips. Xiao Wei couldn't move.

From the time she got her memories back, this can be considered her first kiss.

As Wallace kissed her, he slowly slid a ring on Xiao Wei's finger.

"I'll be your contracted protector from now on." Wallace whispered and then got back in his place like nothing happened.

Xiao Wei was completely flustered and cursed the shamelessness of cheesy guy.

Not only Xiao Wei, even the driver momentarily lost control of the car when he saw what happened.

A completely different side of his boss! He knew this man will become a complete wife protecting maniac in the future. Or has he already?
