CHAPTER 3

No no no no no, this can't be happening, this is bad this is really bad, so this is why people were staring at me in the cafe. That's me alright, the video has a caption below it written in bold 'The track team maniac' no way, and the video already has one thousand views?!.

If i were to shoot a documentary of my life and post it on youtube i wouldn't get one thousand views for days but i am caught on camera in an embarrassing situation and within the span of an hour i'm a celeribrity, damn! Life's a bitch. I'm still lost in thought when i hear megan's voice

"babes you okay?" it takes me a few seconds to even comprehend what she's saying

"no megs i'm not close to even being okay, and it's not because i saw that backstabbing b*tch and it's not even because i was caught on camera while confronting her, it's because of what this means for the company"

"i don't get it" says lili "James Chadwick, remember him?" by the expression on her face she doesn't really get what i'm trying to say

"what does he have....?" i can see the realization dawn on her of the ramifications of this video,

"yes lili, there's a chance that the biggest client in our company's history has seen the video and would not want to work with us anymore" suddenly feeling exhausted i keep everything i'm holding on the table and sit down.

"He probably hasn't even seen it" megan says

"megs he's 32 not a war veteran"

"i know he's 32 but not everybody's into all the techy and internet stuff"

"his mum owns the biggest technology company in America, sooo..... i kinda think he's into all that techy and internet stuff" i let out a big sigh. I'm almost crying now, i'm feeling so frustrated. Lili who hasn't said anything for a while sits beside me and hugs me, megan sits on my other side and hugs me as well, it's one huge hugfest. We stay hugging like that in silence for a minuite.

"If you need to talk, we will always be willing to listen" lili finally says breaking the silence

"yeah i know"

"and if you need anybody's head cut off we'll be willing too" i can't help the laugh that bursts out

"megs!" lili shouts

"what? it's not like you're both not thinking it" she says with a grumble. "No, no i was not thinking that" i tell her "sure you keep telling yourself that, whatever helps you sleep at night" "really megs i wasn't thinking it, you know i'm not the violent type, it's just that...seeing her.....after so long, i could feel all the hurt of that day coming back, i'm over jeff that's for sure but....she was my friend and a woman just like me and i.....i really don't get it" "lili, tee, i know exactly what we need, we need to forget about all the bad stuff and there's one thing that makes me forget bad stuff" "what?" i ask her "what else if not clubbing?, i mean think about it, you'll meet hot guys, get drunk" and with a wink she adds "and most likely get laid" "i'm not against it, i mean the clubbing part not the getting drunk or getting laid part" "what?!, you should be all for the getting laid part, you're in dire need of some sexual healing, plus i wouldn't mind nabbing a hottie or two" "megs!, you know i can't today, i have to meet James chadwick tomorrow that's if he still wants to work with us after the whole video fiasco, i need to be in tip top shape, not drunk or high on sexual healing" "yeah tee's right" pipes in lili "fine! but promise me we'll go next saturday" "i promise megs" looking satisfied she gets up and heads towards the table where i kept the things i bought, oh no you don't!.

Faster than the flash himself i'm up and by the table, i quickly take the bag containing the confectionaries and hold it close to my chest. Megan who didn't get to the bag fast enough gives me a mischievious look, and it begins, she's chasing me round the couch but i will never let her get her hands on my babies, never!!.

Twenty minuites later megan and i are on the floor laughing, she eventually got her hands on the confectionaries, but out of benevolence and the goodness of my heart i decided to share. Lili refused to have any, she's being very quiet lately, i mean she's not the talkative type  but she's being too quiet even for her plus she keeps checking her phone.

I get up from beside megan on the floor and sit next to lili on the couch "you alright lili?" "Yeah sure, why do you ask?" "You just seem too quiet today and that just got me a little worried" "i'm absolutely fine tee, it's just that....i've been thinking about james chadwick and the video and well just....everything" "it's gonna be alright lili, like i said there's a fifty percent chance he hasn't seen the video so lets just concentrate on that" megan speaks up from her place on the floor "no no it's not that...freddy told me that the chadwicks might have a link to the mafia" Fredrick who we all call freddy is lili's older brother and a police officer, i like him alot but i don't like the fact that he's haughty and thinks he's God's gift to women but i must admit he is one sexy adonis. "Lili i don't think you or freddy should pay attention to such rumours because that's what they are, just rumours, i mean you know how people can be haters especially when you're rich and successfull but they're not" "yeah tee, i guess you're right" she seems to be at ease now but i can still sense some worry. I suddenly get an idea, i get my phone and i put on mabel's song boyfriend, i see megan already shaking her head and humming, lili is staring at her phone so i start singing the song out loud

'I've been looking for somebody, tryna kick it with somebody, i need a rude boy to tell me something sweet, same time got his hands up on my body i wanna get high when he take it low low, make me feel strong when I'm taking control...... all my girls round the world, i know you know what I mean

I head over to lili and snatch her phone and throw it on the couch, before she can protest i've grabbed her hands and lifted her off the couch i start shaking her around like a ragdoll, at first she doesn't seem to like it but she eventually loosens up and starts dancing on her own, we all start singing together

'I want a boyfriend, so put it on me

I'm looking for a man who can take that heat

Then suddenly megan starts shouting "from your mouth to God's ears Mabel! from your mouth to God's ears!!, Amen!". Well.....no comment.

I wake up but everywhere is dark, the only dim light is coming from my bedside clock which reads 5:00 am, i'm on the left side of the bed with lili in the middle and megan on the right. I feel a sharp kick and before i can process what happened, i land on the floor with a thud, on my way down i knock over the bedside lamp making a lot of noise, yep that's lili, she's not a sleep talker nor is she a sleep walker but she is very much a sleep puncher and kicker.

"Oww lili!" i nurse my aching butt while waiting for an apology but none comes, i manage to get myself into a kneeling position, i see that lili and megan are still very sound asleep, megan's even snoring a little, hmmm...i feel so much pity for them, i've heard stories of robbers getting chloroform into vents to make people sleep so that they can steal whatever they want, at this rate lili and megan can make a robber's job easier.

I eventually get on my feet, i pick up the lamp that's lying beside me on the floor and return it to it's rightful place beside my bed.

I love these girls like sisters but sometimes they can be a real pain in the butt, today that's literal.

Yesterday was fun, just us girls jamming to some music and megan acting all crazy like she usually does, you know, in a group of more than two friends there's always that friend who cracks jokes all the time cause they always want to see you smile plus they're probably batshit crazy, well that's megan for me.

We fell asleep after a lengthy and sober discussion about life, note the sarcasm when i say sober, there was nothing sober about megan, she found my hidden bottle of wine, the one i've been saving for a very special occasion, she finished the whole bottle and as the saying goes, the rest was history. Sundays are my days of relaxation, a day where i can just be in my own world, but i really appreciated the company.

I leave the room and i'm heading to the kitchen to get a glass of water, when i hear a phone ringing, who could be calling this early, i quickly head back to the room, i'm almost at the door when i hear lili talking, i guess it was her phone that was ringing since i can't hear it anymore, i'm about to turn and head to the kitchen again when i hear lili whispering ".....yes yes i understand, please don't, i need more time, just.....hello..hello".

I wonder what's wrong, it sounds like she might be in trouble, i hope that's not the case though. I want to go in and ask her what's wrong but i don't want to pry, she might be my best friend but that doesn't mean i don't respect her privacy, i'll know when she wants me to know.

I head to the kitchen to get that glass of water, the house is dark and the only source of illumination is the moonlight coming through the windows. I get a mug and fetch some water from the tap, i hurriedly drink the water and put the mug down, i always drink water from a ceramic mug, i don't know how or if it's just the way i percieve things but drinking water from a ceramic container tastes better.

I turn around and come face to face with lili, i nearly jump up on the kitchen island because of how startled i am, "lili!" "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you" "it's all good, what's wrong?" "megs just woke up and she has a splitting headache so i gave her an advil

and came to look for you" "oh.....okay" "we'll be leaving soon, you know with the big meeting and all" "okay then, lets go check on megs, what was she expecting? after drinking a whole bottle of wine" lili and i are laughing as we head to my room.

It's 7:00 am, lili and megan left by 6 to go get ready at their apartments, i'll soon be heading out to the office, but i'm presently in the shower and as usual i'm singing

'Flipping through all of these magazines, telling me who i'm supposed to be, way too good at camouflage, can't see what i am, i just see what i'm not

I'm, guilty 'bout everything that I eat, feeling myself is a felony

jedi level sabotage, voices in my head make up my entourage

Cause I'm a black belt when I'm beating up on myself, but I'm an expert at giving love to somebody else, aaayy...hhhh..aaayy..hhhh..aaayy..hhhh..aaayy'

I've finished taking the shower and i'm trying to decide what i'm going to wear, that's when i see it, the apricot blazer dress suit hidden behind all the clothes in my wardrobe, i pick it up and look it over, i realize that i never wore it so i quickly put it on and look myself over in the mirror, woooww! I must admit i look stunning, a mixture of professional and sexy.

I apply my favourite red lipstick and give my eyes a slightly smoky look. I let my hair down, i have shoulder length jet black hair that looks better down.

I'm set and ready to go by 8:00 am, the meeting was set for 9:00 am but the drive from my house to the office takes approximately 40 minuites, that is with no traffic.

I pick up my car keys and head out with my bag in hand.

I get to the office by 8:43 am, as i enter my office i see lili and megan sitting there, my office looks to be in perfect condition with everything in it's rightful place, the cleaners always do a wonderful job.

"Hey tee" "hey guys, you're here early" i give them both a hug, "yeah we had to make sure your office is in tip top condition for the meeting" "well guys as far as i can see everything is in order" megan is looking at me funny "what megan?!" She's waggling her eyebrows "where did you get this sexy ensemble from? Are you hoping to catch the eye of a certain important someone?" "Wha...no megs! Geez you sure do have a dirty mind. I just found it in my wardrobe and decided to wear it" "so it magically appears in your wardrobe today of all days...mmmhhmm" lili pipes in "not you too lili.....you know what get out of my office i'm sure you've got a lot of work to do" i chase them out of my office and they leave giggling on their way out.

Megan is a lawyer so she's responsible for telling us what can or cannot be done in the course of an investigation, lili works in accounting cause she's damn good with numbers. I'm the C.E.O but i studied arts and photography, i'm not really good at anything company related and that's why i have megs and lili with me.

I sit in my chair behind my desk and keep my bag on the floor under the desk. I call in my secretary cindy and instruct her to send Mr. Chadwick into my office when he arrives. I'm really hoping he will come.

It's 8:59 am, so Mr chadwick should be arriving at any moment, i heard he's a very punctual person.

I'm searching for a pen when i accidentally push the folder that's on my desk onto the floor. Damn it! I'm so clumsy sometimes, i get down on all fours gathering up the papers and mumbling about how shitty my life is when i hear a throat being cleared, i quickly lift my head, and that's when i see who it is, and here i was thinking my life was shitty, when this is the shittiest situation ever, as i said before life can be a total b*tch
