Hello Stranger (Pt. 2)

Chan smiled at himself, poking the tiger that hung from his mirror. He cleared his throat, hoping not to look childish as he got out. He walked from the parking garage, pressing the elevator button. The elevator took its time picking him up before taking him and three others to the 6th floor. He walked out onto the floor, walked through the office hallways, and greeted the other employees as they walked by. He tried standing proud and acknowledging them while trying to hurry off to his desk. As he made it to his secretary's desk, he looked around in hopes that someone wouldn't see him. He walked by, quickly reaching out to grab the doorknob before being stopped.

"Are you ready for your meeting this morning?" He turned to see his staring eagerly at him. He gave her a quick nod, opening the door. "Oh, sir. You have your father on line one." She stated as he walked through the door and hurriedly closed it behind him. Chan took a big sigh, undoing his tie as he sat the briefcase and coffee cup on the desk.

"Dad! Good morning." He answered, standing and staring at the door.

"Why are you constantly running off to work early?" His father asked on the other line, making Chan roll his eyes.

"I have work to do." He answered quickly, pulling on the phone line. "I have a marketing meeting this morning."

"Okay, okay. Your mother says come for breakfast some mornings." Chan agreed, nodding to himself. "Next time, answer your phone." He scolded him before hanging up.

Chan breathed a sigh of relief, placing the phone down. He reached into the briefcase, noticing the missed calls from both his mother and father. Ever since he left home, it was hard on them, but it wasn't like his father couldn't see him in a few hours. Chan moved his things, taking a seat at his desk. Chan looked around the office he earned, smiling at the thought that he could at least make them happy with this.

Chan was proud of getting his degree in business, having both a bachelor's and master's. He was able to take over a managerial position in just 2 years. He leaned back in the chair and tried waiting. His secretary would usually knock and call for him, but for the moment, he was preparing himself. He sighed, sitting up and reaching for the documents in front of him. He looked over the small pile that had been prepared for the meeting. He had already gone over each page, but he always felt the need to be prepared.

It wouldn't be long before the secretary was knocking on his door. She opened up, announcing that the legal and marketing teams were ready. Chan stood up confidently, thanking her as he fixed his tie. He walked to the mirror to straighten his suit before grabbing the stack of papers on his desk. He walked quickly, his secretary moving with haste as she tried to keep up with him. He listened as she began to remind him of his appointments throughout the day, stating she would meet him after the meeting. Chan thanked her as he walked towards the meeting room, and someone opened the door for him.

"This is our Director of Marketing, Bang Chan," They announced as he walked in. Chan promptly bowed to the room, lifting his head to notice them bowing.

He stared intently at each other as they bowed respectfully, but there was something about one that caught his eye. His eyes locked on the blonde hair that was pulled back into a ponytail, watching the face rise. He watched her eyes move around the room, glancing over him as she sat down with the rest of the room. His eyes wouldn't move off of her, though, and he was ready to cancel everything. Chan tried to keep his composure, clearing his throat as he bowed once more.

He watched and waited while they introduced the marketing team one by one before the legal team was introduced. He listened carefully, wanting to make sure there was no mistake being made. He knew who he was looking at, but it had been so long. He watched as two men and one other woman were introduced before her. The old man in charge of the team made her rise as he announced her.

"This is Jeon Soyeon, and she's actually our youngest partner. She's been working with our sister firm, and we finally took her." He laughed cunningly as she smiled shyly but stood proud of herself.

It was amusing and relieving to hear that she was doing well. He couldn't help but admire how far she pushed herself, and he couldn't have been happier. Chan kept his proud smile as he sat back; his focus was on the meeting, but she was so close. He couldn't help but look her way as she sat three seats from him. He watched her push her hair back, something he often knew she did when she was anxious. His eyes moved to her fingers that continued to write notes, something she was always good at.

He noticed how, even though so much time passed, she still seemed like the same girl he knew in high school. He wanted to know everything. Chan had a hard time when she left, and now she was here. What were the chances? His heart danced to the thought of fate, and it was looking better than ever. He smiled at the thought of life being better, thinking about how this morning he thought things felt different. The stars were working in his favor today, and he could see that they had reunited.

"Director?"
