CHAPTER 3 ARC 1: The Male Lead is Confusing

Something small and hard hit Xuezhi's head which resulted in him sitting up straight instead of being hunched over his desk with his arms crossed over.

"Kira, you better not be sleeping in my class! Don't embarrass me in front of your new classmate!"

"Ahem, Please introduce yourself!"

The boy standing in front of classroom had wild black hair and white skin with slightly gray eyes that made eye contact with Xuezhi's. He suddenly did a little roll of his eyes and humphed; not noticeable to everyone but Xuezhi.

"I'm Wayne Troy, I'm 17 and my favorite food is Sushi."

"So, Kiwi, is this the famous protagonist? What's with the attitude?"

"Attention host, protagonist relationship level is at -50%!"

"…Is your gauge broken?"

"Kiwi is up to date with my updates master!"

Wayne sat in front of Xuezhi who was staring at the back of Wayne's head. Xuezhi noticed that Wayne's ears were fully red and seemed to be steaming.

Xuezhi was leaning on his arm as the teacher was preaching about some math formula. He yawned and asked Kiwi, "Is there some action plan to this problem or?"

"Nope! It is totally up to you; I'm just here for the technicalities. Such as getting good grades, etc. Since Kira was a scholarship student, I'm here to maintain that part of your image, and other then that I'll lay dormant to maintain energy."

"Oh so you'll be sleeping most of the time? More thinking time for me I guess-"

"Master you should be sad that I won't be with you 24/7! You could just call me between 5-7 pm and I'll be available to you!"

Xuezhi mentally noted that in his mind and the feeling of sleepiness took over him.

The bell rang and everyone started to chat each other up. The teacher packed his things and threw one last chalk at Xuezhi who woke up from it. Xuezhi noticed that it was midday, and that Wayne was gone. Everyone ignored Xuezhi as if he wasn't worth of their time.

He couldn't wait to read the book that Kiwi left him to brush up on the finer details of plot, but for now, he would have to act cautiously. Since it was some sort of break time, he decided to find his dorm.

Arriving was better then he thought because it seemed like muscle memory. The room barely seemed livable as it was really cramped. The bed was right next to the door and the desk was right next to the bed too, so there was barely any leg movement. There was also a small window right above the desk facing a courtyard. On the desk was a thick book with a fancy purple cover labeled, 'Falling Superstar: The Epic Romance'. It smelled like a new book. He left it on the desk and closed his door, locked it, and settled himself on the chair to his desk. Xuezhi took out a piece of paper and opened the book. He's going to be taking notes.

After a while, Xuezhi gathered a few points.

1) The romance starts till the middle of the novel

2)The father doesn't approve of all Wayne's partners

3)They basically act like rabbits once they get past the meeting stage.

But one interesting thing is that 'Kira Wake', (got his last name from the student attendance), is never mentioned in the novel. It's not even 5 pm yet so he can't ask Kiwi. If it wasn't for the clothing under the bed; Xuezhi would've thought that no one lived here. Xuezhi took out everything in his pockets which consisted of: a wallet, phone, and some candies. He didn't even have any money to buy lunch or dinner, so he might need to get a job.

Anyways, Xuezhi needs to find a way to get close to Wayne to guide him to the girls. He first thought that maybe having a real close friend to vent to would help with family life. Basically, a wingman and a counselor.

Xuezhi layed down and dozed off.

When he woke to, someone was knocking on his door. Xuezhi yawned and stretched; if he ignored them maybe they'll go away. But they persisted in knocking. So Xuezhi got up and unlocked the door and opened it a little just to peek through.

Surprisingly it was Wayne, and he wasn't happy looking.

"Ding! Master Wayne's relationship level is at -60%"

"…."

"Wayne, was it? What's up?"

"Why didn't you go to class?"

?????

Coughing, Xuezhi said, "I was feeling a little sick so I thought—"

"Look I found out that you are a scholarship student; your poorness shouldn't be affecting your attendance!"

???????

Weren't you 'poor' once too?

Wayne stuttering, "I didn't want this but they chose you as my guide!!"

…..Well off to a good start he supposes.

Okay, okay, well its 4pm right now, would you like to do it—"

Wayne coughed with his eyes dodging Xuezhi's eyes, "Yes, today is pretty good to show me around the school."

….

I was going to say tomorrow but okay I guess.

"Sure, just give me a moment"

Xuezhi slammed the door in Wayne's face and sighed. What a little ray of sunshine? He put on a sweater and opened it again with a smile on his face. Wayne was staring at Xuezhi's lips and was slightly going red from the face.

Xuezhi cleared his throat and softly touched Wayne's back, "Let's go this way."

Wayne flinched and bowed his head to look down at Kira.

How cute….. those rosy lips…..

Wayne suddenly robotically stopped and told Xuezhi, "Why are you so ugly! I don't think anyone but me would talk to you!"
