Prologue

"Now Kizzy, you be good for Lori now okay, we will be back before eleven-thirty," said Kizzy's father.

"Okay daddy," Kizzy said. "I'll be good and listen to Lori."

"Goodbye sweetheart just remember that mommy and daddy love you very much," said her mother with a big smile across her face.

Kizzy gave both of her parents a hug and then they left. After they left Kizzy and Lori went into the living room to play princess dress-up. Kizzy always dresses up in the pink dress and Lori wears the blue dress. But it doesn't fit her so she just has her arms through the arm holes.

"Lori would you like the pink tiara or the purple sparkly one?" Kizzy asked as she held up the two tiaras in her tiny hands.

"I would like the purple sparkly one please your majesty," Lori said with a giggle as she bowed down her head.

"Okay, let me put it on for you," Kizzy said. She placed the tiara on Lori's head and clapped her hands in excitement. "You look so pretty Lori."

Ring, ring, ring

"I wonder who that could be?" wondered Lori as she got up.

"Maybe it's the pizza man," Kizzy said sounding all excited.

"Hmm maybe," Lori said. She walked into the kitchen and answered the phone. "Hello who is this?" Lori asked in a concerned voice. "Yes this is their house why are you... oh my god."

The phone drops from her hand and falls on the floor. Lori covers her face with her hands as she starts to cry.

"What's wrong Lori why are you crying?" Kizzy asked with a concerned look in her light brown eyes.

Lori looked down at her with sadness in her eyes. She brushed the tears from her eyes and forced a smile at Kizzy.

"Kizzy I need you to do me a favor okay. I need you to go upstairs to your room and pack up some clothes in your suitcase. We're gonna go on a little field trip okay sweetie," Lori said.

"Okay, but what about mommy and daddy?" Kizzy asked.

"They'll meet us there don't you worry," Lori said trying not to cry, even though she knew she was lying to her.

Kizzy ran upstairs to her room to pack up some clothes. As she was upstairs Lori cleaned up the living room and took off her dress and tiara trying her hardest not to break down in tears again.

"Okay I'm ready," Kizzy said as she was coming down the stairs with her suitcase by her side.

Lori gave her a smile "Okay, let's go."

It was an hour and a half drive to their destination to where the "field trip" was. It was dark outside so it made the place look very creepy. It was a big building with many windows and bright lights shining in it. They pulled into the parking lot and Lori helped Kizzy out of the car with her suitcase. They walked up the short staircase to the front door and walked in and walked to the lady sitting at the front desk.

"Kizzy why don't you go sit over there on the chairs okay while I talk to the lady," Lori told Kizzy. Lori waited till she was sitting in the chairs before she spoke to the lady. "My name is Lori you may not know me but her parents told me to bring her here if anything happened to them," Lori said to her.

The woman looked down at her computer screen and typed in something and gave a small smile.

"Ahh yes Kizzy Sharp, we do have a room for her, don't worry miss we will take good care of her," the lady said looking up at Lori with a smile.

"Kizzy come here." Kizzy jumped down from the chair dragging her suitcase behind her. "This lady is going to take you to your room and get you settled in, then your parents will come and get you okay," Lori said as a tear came down her face. Kizzy gave Lori a hug and walked with the lady to her room. They went through two double doors and then they were gone. Lori turned and left the building not looking back.

"Stay safe Kizzy I hope you forgive me for putting you here," Lori whispered to herself as she walked away from the building. "This orphanage is the right place for you and where you will be like everyone else."
