Status Board

(A/N: This is an info dump chapter. I apologize to those who hate info dumps, but it is necessary. Also, this chapter is slightly longer because I wanted to compact this information into one chapter, rather than separate chapters.)

Taking Jasmine's advice, Aurel went back to lie down on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

For a few minutes, Aurel's been thinking about his life. His past, and his present. Suffering from misery to meeting Emilia, Aurora, and her daughters. Then he met and spoke with Jasmine, who's a little eccentric.

'Is this some kind of fate? "There's light at the end of the tunnel", something like that? My life is already getting better, but I hope it stays like that. I've had enough of getting walked over...Huh?' Aurel thought.

Aurel remembers back to those questions Aurora asked him, they're already getting to him.

When Aurel thought about Aurora, he remembered something about being a disciple.

Aurel then starts to think about what he's going to do from now on.

'Should I get revenge? Yes, I will. However, I'm really weak right now and inexperienced' Aurel thought

A sudden desire of wanting strength came over Aurel.

'I want strength to protect Emilia, Aurora, and her daughters, and being a disciple of the 'Vampire Queen' will help. Also, this system will probably help as well, I should ask Jasmine about it' Aurel assumed.

"Jasmine" Aurel called out.

["Yes, Master?"] Jasmine replied.

"This system, can you tell me a bit about it and what it can do?" Aurel asked her with a curious tone.

["Ara? Certainly, Master. Firstly, the system is a tool for the host, you. It'll show your stats, skills, and quests. There are more functions however the system's level is too low and is locked. To increase your system level, you simply have to get stronger"] Jasmine explained.

"Okay, so where do I see this information?" Aurel asked.

["You can either think or say "Status", but I recommend you don't say it around people, it can confuse them and cause unwanted attention"]

'Okay so...' Aurel started to think, but then continued 'Status'

"Woah" Aurel said while being stunned.

A huge blue screen with buttons appeared in front of Aurel's face, covering a portion of his vision while staring at the ceiling.

Aurel pointed at the screen and asked Jasmine, "Jasmine, Can anyone else see this?"

That thought came to Aurel when he first saw the blue screen when naming Jasmine.

["Fufu, no, Master. However, You can give them access to see this if you wish. However, I don't recommend you show this to anyone until you fully, 100% trust them. If you do end up showing someone, I recommend hiding some information. You can do that just by wishing it, does that make sense, Master?"] Jasmine responded.

"Yes...Does anyone else have this system?" Aurel suddenly asked.

["No, you're pretty much the only person who can use the status board. Others can use certain magical devices to see their stats but it's not like the status board. I'm sure you come to know about this later"]

Aurel furrowed his brows and asked "Why am I the only one who can use and see this? I've reincarnated and I've obtained the system, aren't there people out there who've also reincarnated and have the system just like me?"

["Fufu~ Master, you're more...unique, I should say. You shouldn't underestimate space. There are practically infinite amounts of planets where people can reincarnate to. It's very, very rarely that 2 people reincarnate into the same planet, especially with the same ability"] Jasmine explained.

"Is that so...I guess that's good then. I'd rather not have a freak show to deal with" Aurel sighed.

["Hehe, I know what you mean"] Jasmine chuckled.

Aurel frowned but then a second later my face went back to normal.

"Anyways, can you explain to me these buttons?" Aurel asked Jasmine while pointing at the status board.

["Yes, Master. Firstly, you have your [Stats] which include your name, bloodline, physique, level, attributes, attribute points (AP), Health Points (HP)/Stamina Points (SP)/Mana Points (MP), and finally titles. Any questions so far?"] Jasmine asked.

"I do, but you can keep going" Aurel told Jasmine.

["Okay. Secondly, you have your [Skills] which contains all of your skills and resistances that you've acquired. You can keep track of their proficiencies as well. When you obtain a skill or resistance, it will start out at the "Beginner" stage. You can level it up by either repeated actions or having a deeper understanding to make it stronger. As the skills and resistances level up, it will reach a level cap and evolve into a stronger skill until it maxes out"] Jasmine explained. As she keeps explaining things, she cute when she sounds proud, Aurel thought.

Aurel pushed that thought in the back of my mind for now, "Okay, what are the next stages?" He asked.

["I'll explain that later, let's talk about the final thing, which is [Quests]"] Jasmine said with a slightly amused tone.

"Okay" Aurel agreed. Seems like she's excited to talk about this last one.

["Okay, so the last one, as we just talked about, [Quests]. This was obtained when you leveled up your system to level 2, along with me. For right now, there are 3 different kinds of quest you can choose from. [Jasmine's Quests] are quests that I give out to you for you to complete. They don't have time limits like the other ones because these are my personal quest that I give out to you"] Jasmine said with that same proud tone.

["The next one is [Daily] quests for which you have to complete for the day. It can range from training, mundane tasks, it could be anything really. The last one is [Weekly] quests that are similar to [Daily] quests but take longer and are harder. You have 2 more different kinds of quests which are [Monthly] and [Yearly] quests but for right now, they are locked because your level is low and you wouldn't be able to complete them right now.

Each different kind of quest is a different difficulty, from [Daily] being the easiest and [Yearly] being the hardest. As the difficulties increase, so do the rewards, but that also includes penalties for failure that can result in locking skills, or even worse, death"] Jasmine's voice became low but serious.

"Wow..." Aurel paused for a moment, but then continued "...This is a lot to take in"

["I'm sorry, Master. Strength does come at a price, but as long as you get stronger and complete them, you have nothing to worry about"] Jasmine tried to cheer Aurel up.

"It's fine, Jasmine...Sigh, this is a lot better than being a slave, so I shouldn't complain. It should give me something to do anyway" Aurel said while looking on the bright side.

["Fufu~ That's the spirit, Master. You should always look at the brighter side of things. However, don't let that blind you when things should be taken seriously"] Jasmine advised.

"I know...Thank you again, Jasmine" Aurel said

["Ara? You don't have to thank me, Master. I'll help you anytime, anywhere. No matter what it is~"] Jasmine said with a playful tone.

Aurel rolled his eyes and looked back at the screen with the buttons. Aurel then clicked on the [Stats] button.

"So these are my stats" Aurel carefully glanced at his stats, firstly looking at the bloodline.

"Jasmine, why does it say "Royal Vampire Bloodline" and it's incomplete?" Aurel asked

["That's because when Aurora turned you into a Vampire, she injected her blood into your bloodstream, transforming your blood into the Royal Vampire Bloodline. However, your body can't handle 100% of the bloodline, so as you get stronger, it'll integrate with your body. It'll transform you into a Progenitor Vampire when you reach 100%, just like Aurora. Just know that if you didn't have the system to help you filter it, there's a chance that you would've died"] Jasmine explained.

"I would've died...?" Aurel gulped then asked "Why would she do that? Does that mean she was testing me and if I died that's all I would amount to?" Aurel frowned because he thought that he finally found someone that he could lean on, and now was trying to hurt him.

["I don't think that's it, Master. While I do think she was testing you, I think she had complete faith that you would've overcome it. That woman has been alive for a long time, so she knows a great deal. From the memories I've seen, while she probably has some motive to approach you, I don't think it's anything negative. If it ends up being something, we'll deal with it when the time comes"] Jasmine said.

"Okay..." Aurel sighed in relief then nodded and continued "Okay so there's also Physique, what does the '???' mean?" I asked.

["The '???' either means your level isn't high enough or you don't have a high enough authority to see it, which most likely, you'll need to be at least a Demi-God class being"] Jasmine explained.

"Okay, what about-" Aurel was going to ask about something else until he was interrupted by Jasmine

["Fufu~ I don't mind explaining these things to you, Master, but remember you have to meet Aurora back in the throne hall"] Jasmine chuckled.

Aurel's face went ugly, while sweating a little. Aurel immediately got up off the bed.

"You're right! Hopefully she doesn't kill me! I was just a little excited about this and was curious that I completely forgot" Aurel panicked.

["Hahaha! So forgetful, Master~ We can look and talk about it while we head to the throne room. You should find someone to lead you there"] Jasmine suggested.
