18 : Haru’s health

Pam was sitting across from Haru. On the couch, the Omega was shaking and dared not look her straight in the eyes. He was squeezing Akihito's arm, almost hiding behind the Alpha's broad shoulders.

Pam was surprised when she discovered the little creature that her only big brother kept at home.

Akihito was 28 and Pam was 26. According to Haru's medical records, the Omega was 22, but in front of her stood a young-faced Omega who she would have given 16 if his birth certificate didn't say the opposite.

Akihito hadn't told Haru that Pam was his one and only sister. He didn't want to scare him any further. He didn't want to disclose Haru's existence until the boy wanted to.

But Haru's refusal to go to the hospital had led him to contact the only doctor he trusted. At first, he really intended to contact the Ogata's titled doctor, but the thought that another man could see Haru's body repelled him. Pam was already bonded with another Omega, so she wouldn't be attracted to Haru. And Akihito knew his sister wouldn't say anything to their parents.

"- My name is Pam. I'm a consultant and specialist surgeon for Omegas," Pam began. "I don't mean any harm to you. I just want to check on you and ... Aki will stay here the whole process. If you don't want me to touch you, Aki will take care of it for me. I just want to give you the right care. And to do so you'll have to be honest with me, okay? " She explained then with as much tenderness as possible.

Akihito put a reassuring hand on Haru's small hands. The Omega snuggled closer to him. His gaze was still watching Pam with apprehension and fear, despite everything, he nodded.

"- May I come closer?" Pam asked.

Haru hesitated for a brief moment. Akihito's serene smile gave him a little confidence. So he accepted. Pam moved closer. She took a seat on one of the small leather stools of the coffee table and removed her stethoscope from her bag. She invited Haru to stand up straight and started to examine him.

" - You know," Pam started, noticing that the Omega was tense. " My wife is also an Omega. We have known each other since elementary school. We became best friends shortly after we first met. "

Haru was listening, but his heart kept jumping hastily. Pam exchanged a quick glance with her brother who nodded his head, asking her to continue with her story.

Pam gave Haru a blood test and she said :

Haru gently shook his head.

" - I married her. I waited for her to not be afraid of me anymore, then I marked her. Now she is happy and we have a baby boy. " Pam said with a huge and bright smile.

Haru's heart rate was normal now. Akihito was holding his hand, stroking the back of his tiny hand with his thumb.

" - But before I got there, she had to face her fears and I had to get even stronger. There were days when she cursed me for being an Alpha and other days when I was her only shelter. " Pam told.

She took a few seconds to study Haru's face. Akihito could see the uncertainty in the Omega's eyes. In a way, Haru had just learned that Omegas cause was not too lost.

"- What I'm trying to tell you is that, I am not here to judge you let alone to remind you that I am an Alpha and you an Omega. I am here as a doctor who came to treat a patient. I also want you to know that I understand your pain and that I'll do my best to help you. "She glanced at her brother and then clarified," We will do our best. The three of us. "

Akihito gave a little squeeze to the Omega's hand to grab his attention. When Haru looked at him, he pecked the back of his hand and said :

Haru's ears were red. He shifted his gaze to their joined hands and nodded timidly.

" - Well for now, take off your clothes," Pam said.

Haru froze and panicked again. Akihito wrapped his arm protectively around him and said to Pam :

"- Can't we just skip this part? "

" - I have to examine him to know what treatment he needs, " Pam sighed. " Give us a minute," she said to her older brother.

She fixed a calm gaze on Haru and said :

"- I know you need Aki's presence, but two Alphas in the same room with you is a lot. Aki doesn't know anything about medicine. He ..."

Haru stopped her by suddenly taking her hand. Pam was disturbed for a moment, but Haru traced invisible words in her palm : "Need. Ogata. He's staying. Please."

" - Are you sure ?"

Haru nodded. Pam sighed and asked him a second time to strip from his clothes. Haru complied.

He reluctantly let go of Akihito's hand and started by removing his long sweater.

Akihito's heart sank when he saw Haru's back. There were the bruises Sissy had inflicted on him. Haru's arm and shoulder were still locked in a plaster. Haru managed to fend for himself whether it was to shower or change. He hated showing off his body and so he refused any help from the Alpha. It was not the first time that Akihito had seen him naked. After all, for three days he had been in charge of Haru's toilet. He still remembered the immense pain he had felt upon discovering that little bruised body. Despite this, Haru refused to let him see his body. Now that he was conscious, he hated the fact that Akihito had seen his ugly body. He might feel a little safe with Akihito but he was still not ready to trust him completely.

There were old scars on Haru's back and what looked like cigarette burns. His small buttocks were intact from any injuries. Haru's stomach was covered with small cuts in addition to the scar from his abortion.

His wrists and arms gathered old wounds, probably from his suicide attempts. He had more recent ones on his thighs.

But what troubled Pam and Akihito was the swollen sore on his genital area.

It was not completely healed, probably because Haru hadn't been taken care of.

Pam put on surgical gloves and asked the embarrassed little Omega :

"- Doesn't that hurt ?"

She lifted the small penis. Haru wanted to walk away but Akihito squeezed his hand and whispered in his ear that everything was going to be okay. He hadn't even noticed the Alpha's presence behind him.

Pam looked up at the Omega, waiting for a response. Haru shook his head.

"- Peeing ? Does it hurt when you do it ? " Pam asked, observing the wound more closely with a magnifying glass.

Haru nodded slowly. He opened his mouth to say something but closed it. Akihito then pulled his phone out of his pocket and put the note for Haru. The Omega took his time to type what he wanted to say. He had used a computer before but he wasn't great with phone. In the Club - except the mothers - Omegas without parents title weren't allow to possess a phone. It was to protect them from their customers or the sponsors. When they were outside, their bodyguard would do all the contact with Gisele and take some pictures of the trip to show that they're safe.

" I'm used to it. " He wrote.

" - The… scar is recent ?" Pam asked.

Haru shook his head. " I had it for seven months now." he wrote then.

" - May I ask who did that to you ? " Pam asked while she search for some ointment in her bag.

Haru was typing his answer carefully. He leaned onto Akihito chest when he felt weak about the memories. The Alpha let out his pheromones trying to comfort the Omega while he was containing his anger after reading the Omega's text.

" The last day, before I was thrown, they gave me a heat inducer but it didn't work. So they punished me saying if I can't get it up and I can't be in heat, I don't need to use it. " Pam read.

Akihito put a fluffy kiss on the Omega shoulder when he noticed Haru was on the verge of crying. He then put his arms around him and whispered in his ears :

" - You're not there anymore. You're with me right now. "

He placed another fluffy kiss on Haru's shoulder making the Omega shudder slightly. Haru felt that Akihito really affectionate with him these few days but he didn't mind. Actually, it was comforting to know that the Alpha wasn't repulsed by his behavior or his lack of communication.

" - I see… " Pam said after a while. " I will give you some medications for the scar and antidepressants. I will also prescribe you antibiotics and painkillers. You can wear back your clothes now. Aki I need to talk to you. "

Akihito covered Haru's shoulders with a blanket and asked him to go changed in the bathroom. Haru nodded and complied like a good boy.

" - What is it ? Akihito asked when he was alone with his sister. "

Pam let out a big sigh.

" - His case is complicated," she said.

" - I know. "

" - He's traumatized that's why he doesn't have his heat and that might be why he doesn't talk. I think he's afraid of something. And the scars on his body seems closed but the internal injuries could be still here. You need to bring him to my hospital for a futher examination. For now he needs all your attention and… we…"

" - I know. I already started the investigation on his fated pair. " Aki said, burying his hands on his head. "His name is Silas Kanzaki. He's the heir of Kanzaki foods industry."

" - Oh… Dad invested on their company years ago, " Pam remembered.

" - Yeah. I found out this Silas was really infatuated with Haru but his grandfather didn't want him to marry an Omega. "

" - I guess that's what lead him to mistreat Haru, Pam said sadly."

" - I don't know and I don't care. He hurt Haru so he needs to pay. "

" - Do you think Haru still loves him ? Pam asked worried. "

" - The guy is his fated pair so I guess in a sens Haru has some attachment to him. And if one day he wants to go back to this man, I will not stop him. Haru will never be truly free until he bonds with someone else. And if he doesn't want I can't just force him..."

" - You really care for him…" Pam said warmly.

" - I'm indebted to Haru and… I want to protect him. He's actually just a kid. People judge him and hurt him because he's an Omega but they forgot that he never wanted to be one. I want to free Haru from the people who still haunt him in his dreams and help him to love life again."

Pam smiled at him and then said :

" - Well I'm rooting for you big bro. You're both cute together so I hope Haru will find his happiness and his freedom with you by his side."

Akihito shook his head with a sorry smile. Haru became important to him but the Omega was just going along with him without much thoughts. Haru wasn't thinking about the future he was just living in the present. What will he do next is still a mystery for Akihito…
