Bright Academy

School for gifted students is an understatement. Bright Academy was a school on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Felix Oppong was one of the over thirty students in the forty square kilometer sized college, for good reason...

THROUGH THE DOORWAY

Jessica raised her hands as a field of thornless roses grew at the backyard of one of the displaced families in the European side of the continent.

The moment her hands went up, a slight burst of flurry dripped over and watered the flowers.

The family thanked her and the moment they turned back, they saw me, frowning.

I told Jessica to leave us then walked closer to them with a threatening gaze then asked,"Haven't we already settled the fact of you people using my family to do your dirty work? We have given you our protection and now you want us to be your gardeners as well, didn't we give you your own lights?"

"Daddy."

I turned to Jessica and my gaze immediately softened as she said,"Please don't scare them, I actually wanted to do it."

"So as your brother and sister, but that didn't make it any less wrong, please from now on if anyone asks you for favours, ask mom or me first, okay?"I asked.

She nodded then we vanished, leaving the family a little angry at our greed.

Titus walked to his parents, looking sullen and they asked him what was wrong, then he said,"I don't think I'm the last Alpha anymore."

"Oh no..."They both said.

I was sunbathing by the pool when sensed a portal open and a thing fall in.

I used a wave to wash it to the bank and saw it was a child... like thing I hadn't seen before, it was a Chondara.

Chondaras were unmutated creatures which fully inhabited a part of the earth in another number of universes, where they lived in communities almost as civilized as those of humans.

They were more closely related to jackals than humans so the two couldn't interbreed, but this didn't stop them from cooperating and mingling with each other, or at least, that was what I saw when switching dimensions when Long died.

They looked like foxes with the colouration of jackals, the strength and speed of a wolf and the endurance of an African hunting dog.

But the downside of their abilities was that they were scared of large bodies of water, for good reason as they literally couldn't swim.

Their virtually indestructible bones were so dense, they sank like gargoyles in deep water, unable to resurface...ever.

It lay on the floor and the moment I touched it, it screamed and started yelling jibber ish and I forgot to say on their earth, the main spoken language was Latin which it was speaking.

It seemed frightened yet still hugged my legs and begged for help and mercy, I understood by reading its mind.

The needed words for the response came into my mind as I said in its language,"Don't worry, we'll help your people..."

It turned out, they had been living peacefully in their world till some five monsters arrived and wreaked havoc all over, one could practice expert necromancy, one controlled the living, one controlled spirits and she couldn't identify the abilities of the other two, but I could easily tell they were wizards.

I wanted to tell it that I'd help, but it immediately lost consciousness, it was injured all over and had an extremely low blood sugar level, it seemed not to have slept in a long time as its brain was exhausted, so I carried it in.

"Still no."Jessica said.

She had healed it physically and mentally and even added more body mass and energy reserves, but it still didn't wake up...three days after I met it.

Even Lilith wasn't able to do much, it was only due to Apollo's efforts that it woke up.

It was frightened by the crowd around it so they left me with it and that was when it spoke.

"My name is Arakka, I was a Chondara living peacefully in a town which included us and humans alike, till the portals opened. Five terrible beasts came out and the first caused all the living to go into a war without reason or control, the second took the dead of the war and even from before and made them mine useless but exceptionally rare rocks from all around, everything is destroyed. I was born with an ability that enabled me to manipulate space but I wasn't very strong with it, so after I survived the war and came back to my senses, I fled the place. Several undead creatures pursued me and hurt me badly, till I lost control of my emotions and destroyed all of them, but they were unbeatable as they started crawling back together. I collapsed and knew I was going to die, but with my last breath, I wished to find help, then vanished and appeared over your cistern, please tell me you can, and you will."

"I can, and I will...we all will, Arakka, show me where your world is."

"I...I don't know where it is, I just vanished and appeared here."

I stood up then some food appeared in a plate right besides her and she looked confused till I asked,"Haven't you had curry rice before?"

She shook her head then I asked,"What foods do you have where you come from?"

She smiled as the good memories flooded back of the times she'd hunt down baboons and mandrills with her pack and devour them there and then, or catch guinea fowls and doves from the forest, but the best of all was when her mother brought the raw offal of cattle and eyeballs of fish, just for her.

I looked at her, horrified, but cleared my throat and snapped my fingers then a guinea fowl appeared, making a scared shrill as she chased it around the room.

I already knew exactly where she came from, by tracking the journey of the water molecules in her body, basically by using an Illusion.

I went to the family who looked as horrified as I previously was but I then said,"You gotta love your mother's cooking."

Curtis opened a portal which led to a burned forest with nothing but grey ash and black wood left and the only life was in the severely diseased trees around.

Jessica then said,"Let's go save the w..."

"Woah, where do you think you're going, hotshot?"Curtis asked.

"To that earth to basically stop those warmonks and save the world."She replied.

"Jessie, you're staying here, with the others."He said.

"What?!"All of them yelled, especially Alek.

"Guys, it's too dangerous, besides, what if something wrong happens here?"I asked.

"Nothing wrong will happen dad, we all know they're after you and this is most definitely a trap."She said with her arms folded.

I smiled and cupped her cheek then kissed her forehead and walked away.

Lilith was entering when I took her hand and said,"You and your brother are staying, to take care of everyone."

Lilith frowned at me but shrugged and walked away, leaving Apollo moved.

"What?! Why not just one of us?!"He yelled.

"Apollo, don't yell at your dad."Indigo said.

"Why? He yells at you all the time."

"Apollo, you are staying, I don't need to explain anything but if I find out that you left, even for one second..."

I walked through the portal, with my frown still on his mind, he had never seen me like that before, not even when people hurt those I loved, it was scary.

We then walked through the portal, all us enlightened other than the children, Apollo and Lilith...
