PRIMORDIAL ATTITUDE

Of course the peace didn't last long, Phyllis and Ama were fighting again.

It was true that Ama wanted Alex to sleep in her room but it was because she almost rolled off the bed and he even slept on the floor, he didn't understand what Phyllis' problem was.

"What is my problem?! Are you seriously asking me this question?!"Phyllis yelled.

"Phyllis calm down..."He said.

She slapped him across the face then yelled,"I won't! You brought this wanton prostitute into your house for what?! Because she bore your bastard child?!"

Alex didn't know why but he slapped her across the face, throwing her to the floor.

She looked shocked as he yelled,"Do whatever you want with me or to Ama, but if I ever find you badmouthing my child or trying to hurt him in anyway, you would wish that you'd never met me."

He then left her to go to Ama, whom he gently led to the bed and Phyllis' eyes started watering, not because he hit her, but because she was losing him.

He was always so tender when with Ama and did everything for her, Phyllis wondered if he still loved her, but her question was answered soon after that...

Alex went on to see Phyllis acting nicer to Ama than usual and he began to get suspicious after she bathed her, gave her breakfast in bed and even read her stories just for her comfort, but something happened a little later.

Ama started screaming on her bed and Alex's anxiety started climbing...it was time.

He lifted her between his arms, with Phyllis following not far behind, looking anxious but excited as well.

He took her to the couch, where Jessica attended to her with her heart racing.

Ama held Alex's hand for support and he placed his other on it as she smiled gently then Jessica said she should push, but the problem was, she had a strange expression on her face.

Ama only had to do a quarter of the work as Jessica used her lights to make life a lot more bearable but when the baby came out, it didn't even make a sound, then Jessica looked at Alex and said,"I'm sorry..."

Alex's heart started racing as he saw Ama mourning her newly dead child.

A tear fell down his cheek then he stormed off and Phyllis followed him.

Nicky was watching the scarlet sunset, still confused, why was Dzifa's father being sick a problem?

Alexa came and asked what was wrong then Nicky asked,"What do you think is going on in Azuma's head?"

"I don't know, why did you ask?"

"My light is acting weirdly now and I can't look into the future or the distant present but it will probably go away, but the thing is...did I do something wrong?"

"You mean by..."Alexa began.

"...defending Azuma?"Nicky continued.

"By defending Azuma, definitely not, but by doing something against his will...I think I'll let you find out on your own."

Alexa left then Nicky walked away to Azuma but he wasn't around, he had gone hunting with his father, cousins and uncles.

Nicky was uncomfortable and having a severe dilemma which gave her a headache, she just walked away.

Dzifa was crying alone on the ground of a thick forest as a maid came to her and asked what was wrong then she said,"That girl was right, I'm a terrible person, look at how I treat everyone."

The maid then said,"Your highness I must say she was right."

Dzifa didn't know whether to be thankful for her honesty or angry at her audacity as she continued,"You don't deserve the throne, the people do, but I think I know how to fix your problem."

Dzifa gasped as the maid began to morph into a strange being...into a were hyena.

She screamed for help and ran but the beast used its mighty claws to scratch her back deeply and she fell, immobilized by the pain.

She cried on the floor, knowing she deserved this fate as the beast roared, then fell down, asleep.

Dzifa strained to look at it as her pain reduced, then vanished and she gained total control of her body.

She looked at her saviour to see it was the girl.

Nicky said,"We better hurry, if there was one, there might be more."

Nicky dragged Dzifa out of there but Dzifa pulled back her hand and asked,"Why did you save me?"

"Is now the time to be asking? We need to get out of here, stat."Nicky said.

"I'm not leaving until you tell me."

"Good luck."Nicky said before leaving.

There was a squeal right before Dzifa caught up with her and said,"I can't believe you left me."

"What, you expect the royal treatment?"Nicky asked with an eyebrow raised.

Dzifa looked down then said,"I'm sorry for how I acted, you were the only person that had ever stood up to me and you were right, I am just a spoiled tyrant."

"I didn't call you a tyrant."

"My mistake, but still, what gave you the courage to stand up to me? Was it your magic?"

"First, it's genetics, not magic, and second no, I had to stand up for what was right."

"You really love Azuma, don't you?"

"With all my heart, but I'm also sorry, I shouldn't have treated you like that but, why were you betrothed anyway?"

"I thought you knew."

"I just wanted to hear it from you."Nicky said.

"...my father is sick, terribly sick, he has been that way for years but the doctors think he doesn't have much time left, before he was that way, my kingdom and Azuma's were at war, the East and West, my people had a modern life and riches, but his had a traditional life and knowledge of nature, we believe they are the only ones who could help my father, they also had problems though, scarcity of water, danger from wild animals and monsters and lack of food in adverse conditions, all of which we had long before solved, so the elders thought we could make a treaty and unite, they and us and that way our problems might just... disappear."

"That's a really big maybe."Nicky said.

"It's worth the try, that's why they wanted to unite us in marriage, the heir to the throne of the East and the wisest son of the most powerful family of the West a bond in marriage would be thicker than that of a treaty and paper."

"But I have one more question..."Nicky said.

"What?"

"Do you love him?"

"Yes! No...I don't know."

Nicky then looked at the moon then smiled, she knew exactly what to do...

Alex had been sitting on the floor for the few minutes Phyllis had been watching him with his eyes mildly glowing.

When she took a step closer, the glow intensified till he asked,"What do you want?"

She was confused by his tone as she said,"Alex, I'm sorry..."

She placed her hand on his shoulder then he grabbed it and turned then she saw the glow.

He slowly stood up, towering over her then asked,"What did you do?"

"What? Nothing, I didn't..."

He grabbed her other wrist then roared,"What did you do to my son?!"

Ice I h started creeping on her right wrist while hot vapour started evaporating from the left.

She then said,"Alex, you're hurting me."

"I don't think you heard the question, I asked what did you do to my son?"

"I'm sorry..."

He just slapped her with the back of his hand, throwing her over a table and knocking her unconscious.

He yelled in fury as thunder and lightning filled the sky, then he fell on his knees and a massive blood red Aurora filled the tropical sky.

I walked in through the door and saw Phyllis lying on the floor, barely breathing and Alex on his knees, with lava filling the room.

I hydroteleported to him then asked,"Alex, what happened?"

"She killed my baby."He said.

"What?"I asked.

"She killed my son!!"He yelled.

He tried to attack her but she vanished into my arms then Alex said,"Bring her to me."

"Alex, you aren't in your right mind."I said.

"I said bring her!"He yelled.

A massive shockwave blasted me through a wall and pulled Phyllis to him simultaneously.

I crashed on the ground but slowly stood up as Alex held her by the neck, with ice creeping up her body, I couldn't let him kill her.

A massive current of water was shot in Alex's direction but it all froze in thin air with the rest I was blasting forming a laminar bubble which froze as well.

Alex glared at me as I said,"Leave her alone."

He then crushed her neck and threw her body away then I widened my eyes and started breathing heavily as he said,"You're next..."
