MONSTROUS GHOST

Alexa screamed for her babies when she saw the placed emptied.

He had obliterated her children.

Alexa screamed and kept hitting Curtis and begging him to bring her triplets back.

He couldn't even hug her, he felt so terrible, especially since he had no idea what he had done to them.

A search was done around the city, all the people from the camp pitched in, but there was no use, the children were gone without a trace and everyone blamed Curtis.

"Why on earth will he let her baby be born in the Space between spaces?!"

"How irresponsible!"

"And he left the three children alone with those gunmen!"

"Then had his massive temper tantrum!"

These were just a few of the comments people made.

Alexa couldn't stand being near Curtis at the moment, so she left him and took Catherine, no matter how much he apologized, he couldn't bring her children back.

Alexa left the country and the camp in the hands of the most trusted teacher, she had to protect her daughter from Curtis's family and Curtis himself.

Anneliese went to answer the door and saw Alexa, looking miserable, her clothes were all worn out and she was dirty and badly bruised, like she had walk all the way from the airport and lived on the streets.

Anneliese asked what had happened and Alexa burst into tears then told her everything, but Anneliese didn't blame Curtis, she couldn't bring herself not to understand what he had done, but she promised Alexa we'd help her find the kids.

I then walked in, already knowing what had happened and sat besides Alexa then said,"Alexa, you can't just leave Curtis like that, he cares about you and he may fear something bad has happened to you."

"Something bad already happened to me the day he killed my children."She said.

I was silent then said,"At least, try and forgive him."

"Can we please stop talking about him? I just want to take care of Crystal."She said.

I nodded then we left her alone.

She changed the baby's name to Crystal because Curtis had wanted her to be called Catherine, but after all he'd done, she wasn't going to give him the pleasure of naming one of her babies.

She just gently brushed the infant's hair as she slept...

A child screamed and pointed at the sky then his mother groaned and said,"Those are just ghosts! They can't harm you!"

She dragged the child towards the direction where the ghost like monsters were migrating as they had something to do there but the child screamed, kicked and flailed to get as far away from them as possible.

Ghosts were usually translucent, black, gray or white, humanoid monsters which had extremely extended limbs, about three meters for the average adult, but their head was round, though about twice the volume of that of an adult human.

They were known for having very efficiently designed bodies which were usually given to them by accident, so efficient that the slightest breeze could make them go air borne and keep them in the air for miles.

Despite this, they somehow knew how to follow the correct air currents to go to the location they wanted to go to without brains.

They usually were found on the continent of Africa and lived in the Southern temperate zones, moving as far North as Egypt and Libya to find food, which was usually berries they found on desert trees like acacias, tamarisks and tamarinds.

The child cried until a handsome boy with dreadlocks and blue and silver eyes stood before the woman and greeted politely.

She smiled and greeted him back then he asked,"May I have the permission to talk to your daughter?"

"Take her with you if you want, this child is giving me a headache!"The woman complained.

Apollo giggled and the girl's fear all was replaced with an overwhelming love as he shook his head then said,"Don't worry, she'll stop bothering you soon."

He looked at the girl then smiled and said,"Hi, I'm Apollo, it's nice to meet you."

She smiled then looked away then he pulled back his hand and said,"Monsters and ghosts aren't as scary as you think, look."

The whole heard of ghosts the girl was frightened of started descending then turned in her direction and she looked at them in horror as Apollo's hand was outstretched.

She screamed then hid behind her mother who said,"This girl will never go anywhere near them."

The creatures landed and she saw their faces up close, they had wide mouths which ran across the sides of their heads, two long tentacle like projections on the front of their faces which made them look like cats and beautiful blue or green eyes.

Apollo started scratching the neck of one and it closed its eyes and lifted its head to get more, all while purring, the other six got jealous and occasionally bumped him with their flat noses to get a turn.

He laughed and looked at the girl then said,"Don't worry Celeste, it's okay."

One of the creatures saw her then floated into the air and swam by making waves on its limbs to get to her.

She started breathing heavily as it got closer then covered her face with her hands, till she felt something soft and warm touching her hand.

She opened one eye after the other and saw the ghost, nudging her to pet it.

She giggled then started scratching it then two of the others Apollo couldn't scratch got jealous and flew to her then started swirling around her, making beautiful, clear, black and white lines, circling her.

She laughed.as she touched their limbs then they started prompting her.

Apollo then said,"See? Ghosts aren't that bad, not all monsters are."

She smiled then Apollo abruptly turned then said,"Oh no."

The woman asked,"What?"

"You have to run, get out of here! Now!"He yelled spontaneously.

The ghosts took to the skies as they were frightened and the woman was confused, and even moreso as she vanished and appeared on a hill, far from the market with her daughter.

She then saw what Apollo was worried about, it was a heard of Phoenixes...

Phoenixes were just like the Greek mythological creatures, with long, colourful and showy feathers.

They looked like eagles and were only called Phoenixes if they had lights specified as full body flames which didn't harm them, they came in all colours of the flame that they possessed.

Which could be anywhere from gold, orange and brown to blue, violet and green.

The males usually had the hottest flames but this rule didn't apply everywhere, in fact, the Phoenix with the hottest flame was a known female.

They actually had the jaw dropping ability of reincarnation...ish.

What they did when in a life threatening situation was condense the ions in the fire around them to form a colourful and viscous Plasma Shield which could save them from almost any known threat and opened when it was safe.

Huge flames were needed in order to make this shield, that was why it was thought a Phoenix burned itself alive and left its egg in its ashes.

The problem with Phoenixes was that, they were birds of prey, which loved to feed on humans, just by being too close, they could burn a person alive and that was what bothered Apollo.

"These birds are endemic to Greece, what the heck are they doing here?!"Apollo yelled to himself.

The people screamed as fireballs were launched from the sky at them then a clear shield of ice I h formed and reformed to protect the people.

A Phoenix dived down to snatch and burn a child but Apollo blasted a powerful current of water at it which, not only quenched its flame but also blasted it away.

It fell then screeched and a really hot, violet one breathed fire down like a flame thrower.

Apollo swiped his arm and the fire curved, midair then dissipated.

He then stretched his arms and the fires on them started dying off as the oxygen around them was quickly depleting.

One of them screeched then dived down at Apollo and he was about to move but a tree slapped it several meters away.

Apollo turned to his side to see his sister, casually saluting him from between the branches.

He made a sigh of relief then said,"Thank goodness you're here, where's dad?"

"On a mission, besides, we can handle a couple of roast turkeys on our own, can't we?"

She asked.

He nodded then they both blasted a monstrous current of water which slapped the entire flock of about nine to the floor, severely injured, with their flames out, the birds were defenceless.

Apollo laughed then said,"That was all they'd got?! Ha! Too easy! No one can beat the duo of doom!"

Lilith called him then he asked what was wrong then dropped his jaw when he saw the entire city being attacked by enlightened monsters.

There was an explosion in the mansion and they hydroteleported back only to see Squeakers, Squeaker and the Squeakies causing havoc with their lights, what was going on?
