Bright Academy

School for gifted students is an understatement. Bright Academy was a school on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Felix Oppong was one of the over thirty students in the forty square kilometer sized college, for good reason...

MAIDEN OF THE SEA

There were the loud yells of several men and slicing sounds then there were several successive bangs but the girl walked forward, her beautiful face covered in blood.

The last man kept shooting at her but all the bullets were crushed on contact with her seemingly delicate skin.

She then let out a loud shrill which exploded all the glasses and threw him backwards through a wooden door, blood gushing out of his ears.

He tried to crawl away then yelled in pain as a sharp stalagmite of ice pierced right through his belly.

The girl then came to him and asked,"And where do you think you're going?"

He then said,"Please, my family will never survive without me."

She took in a deep breath then said,"I love the fear and pain of humans, don't worry, I'll make it slow."

He then started yelling as his arm was slowly being pulled off, then there was a sharp snap then he fell on his face and she made his own blood flow onto his face and drown him.

Then she stood up and said,"You're up boys."

Then she walked out of the boat as a powerful wave dislodged it from the rocks then blood stained the water as sharks started feeding on the bodies...

There was a ring on the doorbell then Lilith went to open it to see a beautiful, dark skinned woman, he bent to her level then said,"Hi Lilith."

Lilith looked back and yelled,"Mom! Dad!"

My mom was walking into the living room when she saw someone and almost fainted.

The woman stood up besides Lilith then smiled and said,"Hi grandma."

My mom said in an inaudible voice,"Lilith?"

She smiled then my mom ran to hug her.

My mom asked,"But how?"

She smiled then said,"I have a lot to explain, but I'd prefer to do it when everyone is here."

There was a bang and a cuss and we all looked at Indigo, who had just crashed into a doorpost, because he was looking at Lilith.

When Alexa, Curtis and their children had arrived and digested what was happening, Lilith then burst into tears, the older one.

She then said,"I'm so sorry."

I felt a piercing pain in my heart, seeing her cry, as I asked,"Sorry for what? You've done nothing wrong."

"Actually I have, I killed you, all of you, Frankie made me do it and I'm sorry."

We were silent for a few seconds as she sobbed, then Anneliese hugged her, followed by me.

We brushed her hair and told her it wasn't her fault.

She thanked us for understanding then said,"I also brought some friends, you can come out now."

At that moment, my heart melted when I saw Jessica and Alek running to us, as fast as their three year old legs could carry them.

I hugged my daughter tightly and cried as well as Anneliese and she, I had just missed her so much.

The older Lilith then said,"Also, I came back to prevent Frankie from taking me away, the younger me."

Curtis stepped forward then said,"We'll never let him anywhere near you."

"With all due respect, Frankie is more capable than you realize, and with the older one going to be furious, he'd probably attack you, I have to stay here and protect all of you, with my life if needed."

Anneliese then said,"Don't say that Lilith, you aren't going to get hurt, none of us are."

She smiled then hugged her mother one more time.

We got the older Lilith a room to stay in and gave her some food to eat, her favourite, and tried to reconnect with she and our long missing children.

I wanted to make up for as much lost time with my daughter as possible, I had almost forgotten how she looked.

We started by going to the beach, a place with a deep connection with all of us.

Lilith and Jessica were swimming deep beneath the waves while Apollo was just taking a walk on his own when he saw something, someone, it was a girl about his age, with ruby red hair and dark chocolate skin.

She sat gracefully on a rock while the wind whipped through her shimmering hair.

He walked closer to her then smiled and said,"Hi."

She looked at him with an expression he couldn't interpret.

He just sat besides her and she looked him up and down as he asked,"What are you doing here, all alone?"

"I'm never alone."She said, in a voice like silk.

He then asked,"I don't see anyone, where's your family?"

"I left them a long time ago, all my friends are in the sea."

He looked into her crystal blue eyes and she into his, she had never met someone like him, with so much power radiating from him, she knew she had to make it quick.

Apollo then said,"Here, for your friends."

She looked at the pendant in his hand, confused and asked,"What am I supposed to do with that?"

"You keep it."He said.

"What do you wish to gain in return from me?"She asked.

"Nothing, I just want to be your friend."

She slowly picked it up, no one had ever given something to her before in the two centuries she had swam beneath the waves and walked above the land, unless they wanted something from her, even then, it was rare.

She then said,"I...I don't know what to say."

"How about, let's be friends?"He asked.

She looked at him and for the first time, he saw her beautiful smile.

She then said,"Thank y..."

She then started feeling high, like a predator on a hunt, no, not him, she couldn't hurt him, not after that gesture.

She then said,"You have to leave."

"Why?"He asked, confused.

She seemed to be struggling as she said,"You need to go, now."

"Why?"He asked,"Are you okay? Should I get help?"

"No! Go!"She yelled.

He nodded then got up to leave.

He was walking away when he had to ask, so he looked back then yelled,"When can I see you again?"

She looked at him, tears in her eyes, he still wanted to be close to her, what kind of tactic was this?

It was very new to her, but she had to find out what his next move was going to be, so she said,"Come tomorrow, at sunset, and if I'm not here, blow on a conch."

He nodded then turned.

He had to catch one more glimpse of her, but when he turned back, she was gone, how didn't he sense it?
