Bright Academy

School for gifted students is an understatement. Bright Academy was a school on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Felix Oppong was one of the over thirty students in the forty square kilometer sized college, for good reason...

FLOWER POWER

At home, I dropped the unconscious... sleeping dark dude into a room and locked him in, then let out a sigh of relief, how many of us were left?

Whoever was next, wasn't my duty.

Corma was still on the floor, crying silently with her eyes open.

She kept murmuring, whispering what Alexa told her, let go of all desire.

The books on the floor started fluttering again, while the very letters on them floated in the air, saying the very sound they represented in an onomatopoeic manner.

Then her gem began glowing brightly, alongside her eyes...

I was sitting down and messing around with my different abilities, maybe I was causing a little mischief around the house and wiping the memory of everyone who caught me, no one will know.

I then wondered what would happen if I used my soul silk on inanimate objects.

The white ribbons wrapped around my left arm then shot at a chair and began to glow blue, I was confused, they only did that when there was a soul in the body.

I began to wonder what it was telling me.

My mother looked around then felt something on her shoulder then immediately thought of and feared for Alena, throwing the threat over her shoulder and onto the floor and placing a pair of safety scissors on her throat, ready to slice it open.

Lilith then smiled nervously and said,"Hi grandma."

"Lilith! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to..."

"It's alright, but why are you so tense?"

My mom sighed then said,"It's Alena."

"She doesn't seem sick."Lilith said.

"That's the thing, she's eating and acting normally but I feel something is targeting her for something."

"But she's perfectly safe and..."

"I'm her mother, I know."

"... alright then, I'll make sure to keep a watchful eye on her."

"Thank you."My mother said.

I pulled in the blue light and felt a surge of energy, but the chair looked the same.

It then began to change, the moment I touched it, it being hard as rock for some reason, it began to creak and crack, with the wood in it wearing away and the nails corroding.

It fell apart after I touched it the second time and I was confused,' How did that happen? '

' I don't know, maybe it actually has a soul. ' My gem said.

' Nah, I don't think even plants have souls, that's definitely not how it works. ' I thought again.

' But Skylar didn't have a soul, and yet he could speak, act and even live like you could, so maybe it does work that way. ' The gem responded.

I looked at the silk as it floated in the air and arched down in front of my face, then I shot it at something else and kept doing it and feeling the same rush of energy every time.

Then by the time I realized, my entire room was wearing away.

I figured I should put everything back in order so shot the silk to a plant first then something weird happened, no, weird is an understatement, something spectacularly weirdly strange happened.

The rubber plant grew by six inches and its leaves changed from green to a colourful arrangement of green, red and white, and they glowed.

With spirals of glowing green lines and leaf like patterns arising up the stem.

And each leaf that fell off disintegrated into the green spiral and two healthy leaves grew in its place.

The flowers on the other hand, were much more colourful and glow in the dark than usual, even resonating in a frequency unique to each monoecious corpulent part of the plant.

I walked closer to the plant which grew by an inch every second, eventually, its roots broke through the pot and it merged with the floorboards beneath my feet and buds of growth began appearing all-over the decaying room, with life being restored to every wooden item the roots touched.

I was confused as the plant obeyed my commands, I could still control it with my Green Thumb, but it looked nothing like a normal plant.

' Did I like, give it too much of a soul? ' I wondered.

' Or maybe you have it the wrong one. ' My gem said.

I then heard a scream when I realized the plant was going out of control and growing through every crack and crevice in the mansion.

I tried controlling it to stop and it did, the very sprout I was working on.

It was seriously difficult to control as it grew faster than bamboo and increased by ten times its size every second, with it absorbing the life of everything it touched that wasn't cellulose and lignin filled.

I wanted to remove the soul from it, but a vine wrapped around my neck and I immediately felt limp, it was removing the soul from me.

Alexa yelled my name as a mist of poison floated around her and darted towards the vines holding me and they wilted, then grew stronger as she picked me up, then the vines began bearing flowers which produced the same poison mist.

Yokkan dodged as several vines shot into the ground and rather spread.

He began absorbing the strength from them and they became brittle as frost flowers, but still kept growing.

He felt a rush of energy and began emitting a golden glow as he began destroying the vines, but then thicket like vines began to grow which began stabbing him all over and absorbing his soul.

Jonita was our only hope, but she had gone to find the next wielder, so we had to resort to her opposite, Vulcan the vulture.

It hadn't mastered its abilities since it wasn't very smart or grown, so only flew away and abandoned us...of course.

Alexa gently placed me on the floor, weak, black and blue, I wasn't moving, and a tear escaped her cheek as her gem began to glow and she whispered,"Take control."

She turned back to the spreading weed then webs spread from behind her and shot out, wrapping around and binding the plant in a inescapable web of spider silk...or spider web.

The plant began decaying on contact with the web as poison was being poured into it, but it adapted and merged with the webs, shooting poison filled, sap like webs at all of us, and it had reached a nearby community by now, but we couldn't stop it.

Then Jonita arrived...
