Bright Academy

School for gifted students is an understatement. Bright Academy was a school on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Felix Oppong was one of the over thirty students in the forty square kilometer sized college, for good reason...

DREAMS AND ILLUSIONS

"...and that's how I met your mother."I said.

"Wow, I can't believe you said that mom."Jessica said.

Anneliese giggled then said,"He's so easy to mess with."

"Well, we've gotta go."I said.

"Aww, not now daddy."Jessica begged.

"Don't worry Jessie, we'll be back tomorrow, as usual and with a present, as usual."

She smiled as I kissed her forehead, then she woke up and looked around, it was just another dream.

She sighed and looked up as droplets of multicoloured and glowing water formed above her head and showed the memories she had with her family, her entire family.

I had been barely gone half a week, but she missed me like crazy.

She sighed then turned to her alarm clock, it instantly started beeping then she stretched her arm to put it out, but it rolled out of the way on its robotic wheels, then was melted when a powerful Hydron Laser blasted it.

Jessica lay back on her bed and covered herself with her sheets again, she didn't want to see the sun, she didn't want to wake up, she wanted to see me again.

She tried closing her eyes but for like ever, sleep didn't envelope her, so she cheated, filling her own body with melatonin with her two lights, she eventually fell asleep.

In the dream, she appeared and saw me holding her hand, she smiled and hugged me and I kissed her then asked,"You're back so soon, why?"

"I couldn't wait to meet you guys again wait, where's mom?"

"She's hiding, for the big surprise, wanna see?"I asked.

She nodded several times then I placed my finger to my lips then walked through an endless meadow of dried grass, then picked up a rock and threw it as far as I could.

It landed in the middle of the grass then sudden bursts of colour erupted from the site, swirling around like colourful ribbons, the colours arose before a giant and majestic, giraffe like creature with neon coloured spots, stood up and walked towards us, waking more up.

Jessica got a little scared since she didn't have her lights at the moment, then I laughed as it got closer, then slowly brought its head down, and I placed my hand on it, then my head, then asked,"Wanna get on?"

She slowly nodded, then I picked her up, onto it.

It began walking, towering over the landscape and the seemingly endless grass fields seemed to end after a few long strides, showing a desolate, bare and rock filled place Jessica had never seen before.

We got down then Jessica asked where we were, then I said,"I can't tell you, it's a surprise."

She held her breath, hoping it will be breathtaking when all of it ended as someone was breathing on her face.

She woke up with a frown to see Alek, her eight year old uncle who had the stature and build of a twelve year old, but the intellect of a three year old.

He asked,"When are you going to get up and play with me?"

"The moment you get off and get an imaginary friend, and get a life!"

She pushed him to the floor then lay back down, she started feeling sleepy again when he jumped on her again, he wasn't giving up that easily.

She looked at him and asked,"Should we play hide and seek?"

"I know you just want to get rid of me."

"Oh no, no, no, I just want to...sense that? Breakfast is ready, you'd better go get yours."

"I don't wanna go without you."

"But you found it easy sleeping without me."

"Ew! Sleeping with girls is gross!"

"So as walking with girls, so, bye."

She snatched her fingers and he vanished and appeared on his chair, with vines holding him down like a seat belt, then Jessica's room door locked shut when she waved her arm.

She lay back down and exhaled, then reappeared with me.

She hugged me again then I asked,"Why don't we give it one more try?"

We walked across the desolate land and reached a dark cave.

She felt intimidated and asked,"Mom is down there?"

"Not only mom, everyone is."

She mustered all the courage she had as I asked if she was ready to go in, then she walked in with me.

She heard the slow, subtle and systematic dripping of water in the back drop and saw little in the poorly lit cave.

She got to a place then was awestruck when she saw it, the place was lit with colourful glowing crystals and we were all there, waiting for her.

She ran to hug us all, at once...which obviously didn't work, but Anneliese said,"We have one more surprise for you, you see that door, go and open it."

She ran to it and saw there was no keyhole, but there was a pal print about the size of her hand, it was slightly bigger though, but she could manage.

She placed her hand to it then it ended.

She was about to yell at Alek when she saw it was Anneliese.

"Oh, mom, what are you doing here?"

"It's past nine o'clock, honey, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I just had this awesome dream."

"Oh really? And what was this dream about, may I ask?"

"Well it was... it's a surprise, can I tell you later?"

"Of course, but you still have to take your breakfast okay?"

She nodded then Anneliese hugged her before leaving.

After Jessica prepared herself and got to the dining table, her spirit dropped when she saw Alek smiling widely and sitting right next to where she usually sat.

She rolled her eyes, and wanted to just get it over with, with her light combination, food wasn't even a necessity, she could just get all the nutrients she needed from the atmosphere, or minerally transport them into her body.

Mineral transport was basically Hydroportation, but for Stone Breakers.

She sat down and ate in silence as Alek noisily ate for the whole world to hear, that boy was such a pain in her life, she wondered how she spent like a year kidnapped with he alone.

After she was done eating, she wanted to go back to bed, but Anneliese wouldn't hear of it, so, she went to occupy herself, by reading...as far as possible from Alek.

Jessica was never a social person and was easily annoyed by overexcersive people, like Alek, Nicky was okay, but that meant the two barely talked to each other.

Alek always found her due to his senses from his light combination and it pissed Jessica off as to how she could throw off his water vision, but not his Aerospace navigation (air sixth sense).

She was just so relieved when it was night again, and she could go back to bed, and she went as early as possible, for two main reasons, to get back to me and to get away from Alek...not in that order.
