'MY Maid'

Adinah had moved on perfectly with her siblings, with no disturbance, she had even gotten herself a job, with the help of her neighbor Mrs Flora.

She now worked in a coffee shop, which payed $20 per day, the pay was really helping, their small room had gotten a chair, a better rug, a mini table fridge and a bed, that was a good progress, and her brother Cyrus had started schooling again with their neighbor's children.

Even though the school he attended now wasn't as big to the one he attended before, Cyrus took a good liking to it, while Drusillia got herself on an online class.

Today, she had promised her siblings to help them bring the shop coffee home, which they liked a lot, when it was 6:30, their normal time of closing, some set of workers where asked to stay back, and funny and crazy enough, Adinah was part

" We would be having a VIP reservation from a well known person here, and I trust you guys to be able to serve this particular person well, I don't know if he had other business partners, but he had booked here for 7pm, so please, get this place ready " the CEO of the coffee shop, Mrs Serah a middle aged woman said

They all bowed, and proceeded to their coffee counters, Adinah could only sigh, and wore back her apron.

She quickly picked her phone from her purse, and texted to Drusillia, that she would be coming home late

"Okay" Drusillia replied the text.

Men in business suits, walked into the coffee shop, when it was exactly 7:00pm.

Out of the faces, a face rang a warning alarm to her brain ' what was he doing here' Adinah questioned herself, as she watched the man, whose elegance outshines that of the other business men, his cold demeanour gave her goosebumps

'Lucius Brown' the name rang warning bells in her ear

Her phone beeped "These are the guest, the man with the brunette hair, was the one who requested the VIP" she knew the message was from her boss, searching for the brunette hair, she traced it to Lucius, he was the only brunette their

Another message popped in, not only her's but the other six workers assigned with her

Adinah's eyes went wiled 'was her lady boss serious' she checked the name again 'Mr Lucius' God damned sheet, what crazy play is nature trying to play with her

'What should she do ' her phone beeped again 'ADINAH, what the hell are you doing, your colleagues have gone' her boss typed, and she could know she was more than angry

She quickly started making the coffee in an hurry, and placed the mug in a coffee tray

Before going to serve the coffee, she tied her red hair in a scarf, and wore a nose mask as a quick disguise

She moved towards the table where Lucius sat and placed the coffee with an unsteady hand on the table, almost getting a splash from the coffee, if Lucius didn't hold it in place from splashing on his expensive suit

Lucius raised his head, and her eyes met with the man's cold sapphire ones, instant goosebumps, found itself on her skin ' this was bad ' she said

"I don't know one of the best coffee shop would employ such clumsy worker, so great" Lucius said it out loud to everyone's hearing sarcastically

" I am sorry sir" Adinah whispered, and she saw how a frown grazed Lucius face, after hearing her voice 'Did he perhaps remember her voice, or was it the sorry' she couldn't pinpoint what made him angry

Mrs Williams, her boss, was already present beside the table, wanting to coax the man, which she knew, he could change her current life to nothing in just a giffy.

"I want her fired" He said this words calmly, directly looking into Adinah's eyes, as she stared back at him in a shocked face

"Ahhhh, Mr Brown, I am very sorry for my employees mistake, please fo...."

" I won't repeat myself again, get her fired, or get your good looking coffee shop down" Lucius said, as he played with the coffee cup, which almost splashed on him

Mrs Williams could only sigh, as she faced the shocked Adinah, who looked at her in teary eyes "Am sorry Adinah" Mrs Williams whispered, and Adinah nodded softly

Adinah understanding the consequences if she didn't go, the poor woman shop would be down, it was her mistake, not the shop.

Lucius stood up, leaving the other business men he came with as he immediately walked out of the shop.

Adinah rushed to her would be former counter, and immediately packed up her things, everyone's gazes followed the girl and wondered what she would do next.

Adinah removed the nose mask , which was getting suffocating

As soon as she was done packing up, she ran out of the shop, in search of Lucius, she found lots of cars in front of the coffee shop, in real confusion of which one was his, her eyes searched carefully, till one of the cars head light turned on, and made a reverse to the back

Her eyes ran wide, as she made a quick run to where the car was "WAIT" she shouted like a mad dog, the car stopped making her happy, but the happiness didn't last for a second till it zoomed off.

Adinah closed her already tear filled eyes, as she bit on her trembling lips, her delicate body dropped to the ground like a lifeless doll

'Why is their no good in my life, why is it that in a moment of happiness, the word 'bad luck' would just come and make her life miserable' Adinah's body started trembling badly, and she collapsed on the floor their, outside of the coffee shop.

The next time Adinah opened her eyes, she found herself in an unknown room, which reeked of medicine, she raised her right hand, which felt really weak, and she saw the cannula without the drip still interested into her veins

"Hey, you are awake" a masculine voice jolted her, which was sure came from her beside

She slowly turned to her left side, and was surprised to see Gid, her lady boss son sitting close to where she slept, with a gentle smile on his lips "uhh" that was what her mouth could form.

She really felt uncomfortable around Gid, after he proposed his feelings for her two days ago, she had told him she would think about it, but she wasn't sure she could give him a chance when she doesn't have any feelings for him

" You uhmm fainted yesterday, so I had to bring you here" he said as he playfully scratched on his purple tinge hair.

'So she had fainted, why can't she just die and never come back to this traumatized world again' her heart ached badly, forcing her to close her eyes and absorb the pain

"Mom told me what had transferred, Lucius Brown is such a prick" Gid cursed, with his face holding immerse hatred

' Lucius wasn't, she was ' she taught as tears trailed down her cheeks, Gid was surprised seeing the energetic Ady in tears

"Shh, it okay" he whispered, coaxing her as he soothed her hair "You don't have to cry Addie, I promise to help, during hard time like this"

" Thank you" Adinah finally voiced out, after she had calm down " Did you perhaps know when I am getting discharged"

"Today" Gid replied

" Ohh, I think am okay now, please I need to get home, my siblings would have being worried" Adinah couldn't help but be worried about Cyrus the most

"Don't worry, I gave Drusillia a call that you where with me, and she seemed not to be bothered" Gid said, with lace of happiness in his voice

Adinah felt somewhat sad, she won't like giving this guy false hopes, and later leaving him on the edge

"Thanks, but I still think I need to be discharged now" what was the use of staying in the hospital, when she could spend her time on something more useful

"Okay, since you really want to go home, I would go meet with the doctor now" Gid said as he stood up with Adinah giving a slight nod

After Adinah was discharged, she didn't go home straight but somewhere else

She arrived in front of a quiet mansion with a fenced gate design, making the beautiful interior of the mansion viewable, she rang the alarm bell beside the smaller gate, present in front of the mansion

A young man in a uniform which she suspected to be the gate keeper walked out from the main mansion to the fenced gate, looking at her thoroughly, before coming out of the fenced gate to meet her

"How can I help you ma'am" the gate keeper asked politely

"I have an appointment with your boss Lucius Brown" she lied

" Boss didn't say he would have an appointment today, and he is not around, it too early for you to come here looking for him" the gate keeper said

" Oops, I wasn't aware of the time" she smiled sheepishly, checking the time on her phone, which was still after 2 "But perhaps, are you anyhow aware of what time your boss is going to be back" she asked sweetly

" Latest Eight, so I would ask you to come back tomorrow" The gate keeper adviced

" Don't worry, I would just wait" she said, getting a surprised look from the man

" Uh o..kay" he stuttered

"Can I borrow a wall in the mansion, till Lu..ahh your boss comes back" she asked

" N.." " I promise no harm, and your boss, wouldn't be happy seeing is guest outside either" she said

" Okay" the gate keeper later gave in to the red haired woman.

The gate keeper allowed her in, giving her a place to sit and wait for his boss, while the gate keeper also took a bit far away from her, with his hawk like eyes watching her intently, as she continued smiling sheepishly at him.

After the non-stop staring competition, she decided to chat with her sister.

A Tesla drove into the same mansion Adinah was in, late in the evening, 7:45 precisely

An icy air filled the mansion, which gave Adinah instant goosebumps, she immediately knew the ice king was back, she stood up from where she sat, after she saw the figure she had being waiting for, walked out of the luxurious car

Immediately the figure sighted her from where she stood, it was as if a gasoline was poured on the ice king, turning him to the prince of hell, she could feel the instant heat of his anger from where she stood

"WHO LET HER IN" He roared, the poor gatekeeper bowed in front of the man who was blazing with anger " You did hun" a smirk tinted his lips, he dragged the poor body guard by his shirt, and started raining him with heavy punches

Adinah felt her legs going numb, she covered her mouth in shock "STOP IT" she screamed, as tears rolled down her eyes as she ran and yanked the already bloodied gate keeper away from his devilish boss "why are you so numb, don't you feel" Adinah screamed as she started punching Lucius on his chest " why are you so cold hearted, why are you so cold, why do you enjoy seeing people cry and suffer, why why, why" she barked at the statued man " tell me, does human feelings mean nothing to yo.."

" Yes, it doesn't mean anything to me" he said as he gripped on both her hands and pushed her to him "human feelings would only make you feel weak, worthless, useless, just like you are" he pronounced, gripping her hands tighter which had Adinah to wince in pain

"Call me worthless, call me weak, am better than a lifeless doll like you" she cried out, and a throaty laughter left his lips

" You told me never to show up in front of you, after you helped me at VISCARIA the other day, but yesterday, you where the one who showed up in front of me, and took my work away from me, now am like the worthless and useless you named me earlier, my work at the coffee shop was my hold and my li.."

" You seem pathetic" he smirked, cutting her off

" You don't know anything, you are just a lifeless doll like I said, the $20 per day I earned at the coffee shop, fed a family of 3, which you had just ruined, it unfair, you showed up in front of me, you came to my workplace, it was your mistake not mine" she sobbed as she tried wriggling out her hands from the man's hold

She found both her and Lucius moving back, till she was pinned on the wall by the him, with him towering over her

"I never said who sees who first, I said anytime I have a whiff of your face, I'd make your life miserable, and you said $20 per day, then guess how much I pay my workers, especially the maids of the house" he said as he lowered his face towards hers, as she moved here away

Adinah didn't reply "$400 per fvcking weeks" he said as he released her "leave before I turn you into a dog's food" he said calmly walking away from her

" Then make me one" Adinah said making Lucius stop on his tracks

"The dog's dinner" he said, turning back to face the red haired lady

"Your maid" she said, and Lucius froze for awhile before he burst out laughing and suddenly stopped with his sapphire eyes eyeing her as he smirked again

"Hey red, you just tried fighting with me for beating a worker, and called me a lifeless doll, now you want to be MY MAID" he stretched on the last part " have never taught of having a personal maid before, till you brought this up red" he said as he pinned her against the wall again, playing with the long strides of her red hair, with Adinah's mouth forming a small 'o'

"I only had maids for the house not 'My maid ' , since you proposed that, then I would love to have one, but sorry in time, I can't promise to be that good boss" he said

Even when Adinah didn't know what he took the ' my maid ' for, she was sure enough she wasn't giving up either

" And I won't relent either" she said as she tipped her chin much higher than it was before, and a mischievous smile crossed his lips
