Chapter 49: You Need to Watch

The alpha rolled his massive shoulders back, as though he was ready to fight at any second. “For the first time in a while, we actually agree on something. I’ll give you one chance to resign peacefully. You’re still a member of this pack, and I want you to have the opportunity to come back from this.”

The pair started circling each other, eyes locked. Sebastian replied, “Not a chance. You’re done for, old man. I was willing to wait for you to die organically before I took over your position, but if you’d rather fight it out, that works just fine for me.”

The alpha nodded without taking his eyes off the other man. “So you’re officially challenging me for the position of alpha of this pack?”

Sebastian growled back at the man, “I’m tired of your pedantic, traditionalist bullshit.” With that, he takes a swing with a heavy fist.

The alpha dipped back to avoid the blow and spoke clearly, “Words matter. I want the council to know you had a choice.”
