"I... I don't know what to do…I can't believe I've been living a lie... I'm already married"Elizabeth said with sobs as she dramatically stuffed ice cream in her mouth while Tammy and Tessa her two friends who had visited her the first thing in the morning since they heard about the news of their friend getting married. Tessa was seated to the left side of Elizabeth while Tammy took the right as the three ladies were surrounded by used up tissues which Elizabeth was using to wipe her tears and a bucket of ice cream they brought just for Elizabeth
"Aunt shouldn't have done this...how can they choose a man you don't know as your husband"Tammy said with so much irritation, it was nice when Elizabeth was about to introduce Tyler to the family but to find d out she was already married to another man she did not know was heartbreaking
"But...you can refuse right?" Tessa asked as she rubbed her hand on Elizabeth who looked as if she had been just spat out by and angry lion. Of course the news of the marriage was deafening, however, Elizabeth had a choice to say no to it if she wasn't happy
"I... I tried but mom...mom said its unavoidable...she said that to my face that... I had no choice than to marry the man...sobs...hiccups... I love someone else guys"Elizabeth cried even more. She thought it was all a prank, but the lady called Helena had told her that she was engaged to her son and was to be married to him in a day. She cried and begged hoping it as just a lie but hearing her parents say is she knew they made decisions for her without her knowledge
"Wow...this is just like Kelly in my book guys...she wanted to marry her love, but her parents already chose a man... I mean it's weirdly the same story hahaha he-he"Tessa said with a nervous laugh s she lifted her head from her novel only to look up and received death glares from Elizabeth who wanted to skin her alive and Tammy who looked like a wonderful animal ready to pounce on her for the kill
"Really Tessa?here we are trying to solve her problem, and you are busy making a joke out of it"it was unbelievable, Tammy was angry at Tessa because she always took serious matters as a joke and now Elizabeth was in a tight pickle jar and Tessa was busy throwing jokes
"I know but who exactly is the man... I mean just elope with Tyler it's the only way...if you prefer not to marry the man, then run away"Tessa said without a care and Tammy's eyes widened in perfect delight as she clapped twice and looked towards Elizabeth nodding at Tessa's great idea however Elizabeth slowly shook her head and lowered to the nightstand and retrieved a black file and gave it to her
"I can't run away...that lady Helena made it clear that if I run...my parents will pay for my mistakes...she literally threatened me and I had no choice but to hide it from mom"when she locked herself in her bedroom it was Helena who managed to convince her to open up and when she did, Helena said a few words to her privately and outlined the consequences of her actions if ever she refused
"What?" Tammy exclaimed in pure shock and Tessa quickly snatched the file from her friend to check what it was only for Tammy to frown and shift her gaze towards Elizabeth
"I don't get it"she simply said and Elizabeth rolled her eyes
"This is my marriage, I won't get my lavishing wedding I always dream of or walk down the aisle with dad giving me away to Tyler"it was too much to bear not only was she marrying a stranger, but she wasn't going to marry like a normal person
"I still don't get it"
"Me either"even Tessa shook her head not understanding their friend's dramatic turns
"Well I won't...get my dream wedding...this is how I'll marry...the lady seems like some rich woman and her son is some famous man who doesn't have time for a normal wedding...sobs... I just have to sign this and boom I'm married"her life was not how she dreamed it would be she felt like it was all a dream, and soon she'll wake up because if the so-called man had no time have an actual wedding how would he love her because she wanted someone who put her first in everything
"This is ridiculous...how can aunt and uncle agree to this...clearly this man is an idiot"Tammy was furious as she said and go off the bed and walked around the room to show her anger
"And what is the name of the man, so we could pay him a tiny friendly visit"Tessa asked with a smirk that Elizabeth knew too well and that was it was about time we taught the man a lesson
"I don't know...some Rivera guy...Daniel Rivera or was it Damian or I don't know guys...and I seriously don't care because I won't marry him"she was heartbroken and if only Tyler was answering his phone, but the man had switched off his phone from last night, and hence she couldn't tell him that she was about to be given to another man
"Umm...It's neither of those names"
"Y...yes...but...but his real name if I'm not mistaken is... Derek Rivera"Tessa remarked with a shocked facial expression that made Elizabeth wonder why it was an issue because even Tammy had the same expression even more than Tessa
"Dude...Tessa search for him ASAP"Tammy said in one breath and Tessa grabbed her phone dramatically and clicked a few times after some seconds showed Elizabeth who didn't get any of their drama
"And?" Elizabeth started only for Tammy to smack her on the head
"That's the man's company...the wealthiest man alive...the most prestigious young handsome bachelor the world and universe can ever make and Derek Rivera is that man"
"Not just that but no one has ever seen him...even his employees have never set their eyes on him but...those who have said he is a beautiful creature from another planet"Tessa added too and again Elizabeth frowned not caring about the man's list of CVs that people had gathered about him, she didn't care about money or status all she wanted was someone who made her feel special
"I love Tyler no matter what guys...sobs... I just want him no one else"it was hard for others to understand the agony she was passing through including her parents who had hardened their hearts for her to get married if she ever cared about them in the slightest
"Baby girl this man is straight out of a novel...perfect body perfect face perfect in everything...my aunt once got a job at his company, and she swore if she wasn't old she would have thrown herself on him...he is what people call irresistible, out of planet earth and obviously the bigger fish in the sea"Tessa like always narrated in the most noveltic way possible which made Tammy and Elizabeth to frown because just like always Tessa had found a way to bring her love of novels in real life
"His company is my dream company where I want to work when I finish college"Tammy said and Elizabeth has had enough because she thought her friends would make things right, but they made things even worse
"Get out!"she yelled in anger and both Tessa and Tammy jumped out of bed knowing full well they didn't solve the issue at hand but worsened it
"Eliza...we could…"
"Get out"Elizabeth cut them off and tammy nervously shoved the file back to her and walked to the door followed by tessa who had shoved all her novels in her bag and slipped out of the room
"Hey Eliza...when you marry him please tell him that I love to work…"before tammy could even finish Elizabeth threw a pillow at her only for tammy to quickly ran out and slammed the door shut and Elizabeth heard her friend laughing as their voices faded away, again the room was as quiet as it was. It was lonely. She was feeling lonely and lost, not sure where to turn to but when she looked at the file which only needed her signature to seal the marriage she felt tears rain down her cheeks yearning for a shoulder to cry on but didnt find any.
