Chapter 28

“That smells good,” Mickey said.

“I believe it will taste as good as it smells. Why don‘t you give it a try while I round up Ted.”

“He’s in the library reading a book.”

“Where else would he be?”

Chris stepped into the library. “Ted, supper’s ready.”

“Okay,” Ted said, and settled back in the chair.

“Now, Ted.”

“Yes, Sir,” Ted said somewhat reluctantly.

The three of them sat at the kitchen table eating. “So, what did you guys do today besides spend money?” Mickey said.

“Let me see,” Chris said. “We got Ted enrolled in a Catholic school. He has an appointment with my doctor for a school physical. We bought school uniforms, and we bought clothes.”

“What else?” Mickey said.

“We had Camel Riders for lunch,” Ted said. “And we sat with a pretty lady and her friend.”

“A pretty lady?” Mickey said.

“George and Mike’s friend Deborah and her companion.”

“Anything else?”

“Yes. Dr. Albritton is going to talk to Ted about his nightmares.”
