Chapter One

*Alarm Ringing*

It was a start of a new day. Miranda McMillan, daughter of Monroe McMillan who was the president of a world famous entertainment company called McMillan Organization.

Well, this wasn't always like this. After Roe McMillan debuted as one of the youngest successful actor in the entertainment industry, McMillan Organization hit the road of its success.

Well, having a super talented architect among the family was a blessing. Roe McMillan's elder sister Melisandre McMillan is a world known architect who designed the McMillan Organization and even got the best architecture prize for it.

All this fame was a little burden for Miranda. When she was in highschool, her family hit the road of fame and success. From there she became the 'The Miranda McMillan'.

"Well, here goes nothing!!" I woke up hearing my alarm clock. Last day of my senior year. After that, all I have to do was decide what college I wanted to go.

I freshen up and went downstairs for breakfast.

"Good morning, everyone!!" I greeted everyone while kissing my father's cheek. He was the only one who understood me but also annoyed me very much.

Both of us share a mysterious power. None of my siblings got this power. I could read minds of people. Dad was also able to do that. Which was why I was the one and only heiress of my dad's company.

"Morning Mir!! Had a good night sleep dear??" Mom asked me sweetly but I could tell that her mind was telling otherwise.

Her mind was practically screaming why I was late from other's to come down for breakfast.

"Mom I was showering so I was 5 minutes late!! Why are you so fussing about it!!" I asked and ate a spoon of my cereal.

"And I told you not to use your power in dinning table!!" Mom rolled her eyes annoyingly.

"Can't help!! It can't be shut down!!" I finished my breakfast, picked my bag and dashed to the door.

"Fredrick will be with you today." Dad announced loudly.

"Whyy?? What's wrong with James??" I halted at my spot. James was the first person after Lawrence I was getting friendly with.

"He was getting too close with you so he's going to follow Roe from now and Fredrick will follow you." Dad said calmly.

"He wasn't getting close with me with bad intentions!!" I literally screamed at them. Was there anything I could do freely in my life now?? It had always been like this from highschool. I was fed up with it.

"You don't know what a guy's intention can be!! I am a guy and I can tell. James knows how to hide his intentions from you!!" Finally Roe said with his dominant brotherly voice!!

Well said, sex craze maniac brother!!

"You can't hide what is in your mind!! And I think from all people you know that very well Dad!! You know what?? I'm just wasting my time arguing with you guys!!" I turned around and slammed the front door behind me.

They would never understand how it felt to know each and everyone's mind around you. I looked at Fredrick and instantly I could tell he was thinking about how I would feel in his arms while he shoved his mini him inside me!! And that was why I wanted James with me. He always treated me like his sister and never had those kind of thoughts about me.

I glared at Fredrick and he instantly looked down to avoid my eyes. Most of the people in my house knew that I could read minds, that include bodyguards also. So Fredrick could guess that I read his mind.

At school there was no one whom I could call friend. All of them were sweet with me but was throwing bitter words at me in their head.

Some of them was accusing me for having Plastic surgery because it was very unusual to them to be this much pretty!! Some was just throwing jealous comments. Worst part was I knew their true selves but I couldn't tell anything because if I do, they would call me a frick.

"Hey Mir!! I was waiting for you!!" Amanda called me. She ran to me and grabbed my hand, showing how much good friends we were. But in fact she was the most disgusting person.

Amanda was only with me because of my money. But she was also unknown from my ability so she openly thought how could she frame or even rob me!! Nothing unusual about it because I was the so called 'The Miranda McMillan'.

This was the reason why I wanted to escape this spotlight world of mine. I wanted to have a normal life for once.
