The room was pitch black, making it impossible to see anything. In the darkness, Jolene Kin groped her way forward, her fear and unease magnified to the extreme.
The heart-wrenching cries for help were especially distressing.
Caroline Edwin accurately located Jolene in the dark and grabbed her wrist, tossing her to Jean Norris.
"Watch her."
Jean nodded repeatedly, casting spells to create a small protective barrier beside them.
The little ghost floating in the air spoke mournfully, "Sister, you hurt me."
The rune contained intense flames, causing unbearable pain when scorching one's organs. The scars on his face were particularly ugly, making him look sinister and terrifying.
The little ghost's voice held resentment, "Sister, how could you forcibly rescue my mother? I earned her so much fame; now it's her turn to accompany me."
Jolene, hiding behind the protective barrier, squatted on the ground, hugging her legs tightly while burying her head in her knees.
