Caroline Edwin and Lionel Grant didn't linger in the classroom; they walked away after opening the door.
Downstairs of the teaching building, behind them was a row of tall trees, through which the wind blew and the leaves rustled as they fell.
Lionel Grant sat on a bench, "Instructor, you can go back first. I'd like to rest here for a bit."
"Okay."
Caroline Edwin raised her hand and patted his shoulder, not insisting on staying. She left with long strides, heading back to the dormitory.
Lionel Grant sat on the bench when suddenly a hurried set of footsteps approached.
"Lionel, you're here!"
The sweet female voice rang out, interrupting his thoughts and pulling him back from his memories to reality.
Rita Webster trotted over and sat down beside him, resting her chin in her hands, her tone carrying a small wistfulness.
