At night, the students sat in the cafeteria.
Perhaps because it was the New Year, the cafeteria had specially added dishes for the day, offering a particularly lavish meal, complete with a variety of desserts and fruits beyond the usual three dishes and a soup.
Red couplets and the character for "fortune" adorned the cafeteria, the bright red hues adding an extra festive touch to the surroundings.
Caroline Edwin sat on a bench, with a plate before her that held a pork knuckle, braised chicken leg, stir-fried cabbage, and a bowl of bone soup.
"It tastes alright."
After taking a sip of the soup, warmth instantly filled her stomach, bringing unparalleled comfort.
Everyone dug in and focused on their meals.
Looking at the students having their dinner, Ryan Saxon stood up from his seat with a kind smile on his face.
"Eating dinner on New Year's seems a bit mundane, why don't we play a game and let everyone decide who should perform a talent show," he suggested.
