Born As The Twin Of Shin Wolford With Elf Blood

Lucian, a big fan of anime and manga, was hit by a truck while walking across a road after going to the shop. When he woke up, he was in a forest with dead bodies all around him. To his right was a crying baby boy, and an old man was walking towards them both. (Also, if you want to read a monster taming original novel I have one on my other account, L_6_2. It is called ‘the weakest job monster tamer is the strongest with loot boxes’. I am updating it daily!

Capital

*Half A Month Later*

A horse and carriage moving down a country lane contained Lucian, Shin, Merlin and Melinda. This carriage was on its way to the Capital, so that the boys could take the entrance exam.

Melinda had set up a barrier around the house that Merlin and the two boys had been living in up until that point as both Melinda and Merlin were going to the capital with Lucian and Shin. This meant that there would be nobody to protect the house, and the barrier was necessary to stop intruders and prevent deterioration.

Melinda and Merlin were seemingly refusing to face each other, which made Shin question them, "Gramps... Granny... Are you still going to act like that?"

Merlin replied first, "Wouldn't I myself be sufficient to accompany you two in the capital...?"

Melinda jumped in frantically, " Don't misunderstand. I'm just tagging along because I have to look after Lucian and Shin!"

Lucian and Shin responded together, "So you say, but we bet you're happy to be together with him!"

Melinda looked panicked, "What are these children even saying?"

Neither Lucian or Shin wanted to bring their adopted grandparents back together, but they did want to live with both Melinda and Merlin.

With a happy look on their faces, Lucian and Shin spoke, "Thanks for coming along Granny, it makes us so happy."

Melinda looked happy and looked off to the side, "W-well... I'm just afraid that this old goat beside me can't teach you common sense on his own."

All of a sudden, Shin shouted, "Hey! I can see the capital!"

The horse and carriage was approaching large city walls and, after a few minutes, they reached the inspection point.

Lucian and Shin pointed out an obvious observation, "There's a lot of people here."

Merlin replied, "Oh... Seems we have to queue for inspection."

Once it was their turn for inspection, the inspection officer spoke, "Excuse me, may I see your identification papers?"

Melinda handed them over, "Here."

After glancing over the papers, the inspection officer's face went blank before he shouted, "I-I-It's the Magi! It's Master Merlin! A-And Guru Melinda too!!"

Hearing this, Lucian and Shin looked confused, "Guru? Magi?"

Both Merlin and Melinda responded, "Just some titles we used to have in our youth."

Everyone in the surrounding area got incredibly excited and started swarming around, "The magi is here?! W-Where?!" "And the Guru is also here too!" "I want to see."

Both Lucian and Shin were thinking to themselves, 'Gramps and Granny really are famous..." They're still regarded as Heroes even now... I feel so proud of them."

The inspection officer spoke again, "It's such... Such a big honour to meet you Master Merlin...!"

Merlin replied, "Sorry, but I don't like causing big commotions like this, so could you let us through now?"

The response from the inspection officer came immediately, "Y-Yes of course!! But, may I ask who these young masters here are?"

merlin responded, "Lucian and Shin Wolford, our grandsons."

After the inspection officer let them go through the gate, Lucian and Shin were both taking in the atmosphere and remembering that the last time either of them had seen that many people was in their original world.

The town was divided into the commoner district and the nobles and wealthy merchants district with the castle in the centre, and Merlin's house was somewhere in between the borders of the two.

Once they arrived at the house, both Lucian and Shin were left speechless. The house was absolutely massive when compared to their standards, with large pillars supporting the front of the house and windows everywhere you could possibly look.

Shin couldn't help himself from shouting, "Huuuuge! Is it okay if we stay here?!"

Melinda replied bluntly, "What are you saying? This is our house to begin with."

Both Lucian and Shin were surprised by this, "It is?!"

"It was given to us when I was still married to this old man."

Once Lucian and Shin had gotten. out of the carriage, they walked up to the door and, once they opened it, they were greeted by butlers and maids.

"Eh?! What the...?!" This was the response to seeing this from Lucian and Shin.

Merlin already knew what had happened, "Looks like Diseum dispatched them here."

Melinda looked annoyed, "This is why I hate this place."

A relatively old blonde woman greeted them all, "I am the head maid, Marika."

This was followed by a man of around the same age, "And I am the head butler, Steve."

Finally, another man spoke, "I'm the head chef, Correll."

Shin responded, "There's even a chef...?! What am I going to do at home then...?!"

Marika replied, "Neither Master Shin or Master Lucian need to bother themselves with housework. Let all of us handle it."

Both Lucian and Shin looked shocked, "Master Lucian/Shin."

Marika replied, "An honorific befitting for a grandson of the revered Hero. That is how we will address you."

Steve spoke next, "We received direct orders from his majesty himself to serve you, so do not think of unnecessary things like housework. We are honoured to serve this family of Heroes, and you have my word that we will not treat you with disdain. Master Lucian, Master Shin, we will handle your luggage. Why not sightsee around the town for a while."

*Around Half An Hour Later*

Lucian and Shin walked down a street with pocket money that Merlin had given them. They went up to a food stall, and both of them bought a skewer with meat on it. Surprisingly, it was actually very good.

After that, Shin went into a magic tool shop, and Lucian went into an alchemy shop, "Meet back here in five minutes."

Shin replied, "Cool, see you in a minute."

Inside the Alchemy shop, the shelves were lined with potions with labels on them. They were all very expensive, and none of them were as good quality as the ones that Lucian had made before. Especially not his most recent potion, which was an improved body strengthening potion which not only promoted body growth, but also strengthened the drinker's bones and organs.

After looking around and finding nothing of any value to him, Lucian left the shop to find that Shin had a similar experience to him as his equipment was better than the stuff in the shop as well.

Lucian then saw something interesting, "Look at that huge line, let's go see what it's for."

Shin walked over to one of the people in line, "Excuse me, what is this line for?"

The man replied, "A theatre play! 'The Legend of Magi Merlin and Guru Melinda' to be exact."

Upon hearing this, both Lucian and Shin exclaimed, "Seriously?!"

They both were thinking to themselves, 'They even have a play dedicated to them... Just how respected are they?!'

Their thoughts were interrupted by screams, "Noo!! Stop!! Cut it out already!"

This immediately caught both of their attentions.
