"H…how did you get it?" She gulped. He chuckled. "Come and get it, sweet. I don’t bite." Raziel narrowed her eyes. He was trying to trick her into opening the window. "It’s not that hard. Come on, I’ll give you your erotica," he assured, drawing on the last word. "It’s not erotica. You’re horrible at reassuring people." "And you’re a pro at hurting my ego." "Seriously?" "No." She glared at him and he smirked. Seems like she was no longer scared of his blazing golden eyes. Such a huge achievement. "I won’t hurt you, sweet, sweet, Raziel," he spoke out as he used his hands to tell her to come forward. Noticing the reluctance and doubt in her eyes, he shrugged his shoulders. "Fine, I’ll grant your request and leave," he said as he sauntered towards the railing of her balcony. He heard her panicked voice and her loud footsteps as she quickly tossed the blanket off her body and hurried to the window. Just as he saw her opening the balcony window, he smirked at her and leaped off the balcony. She released a horrified shout as expected. It was a five-floor drop after all. "C…come back!" She slightly whispered, dreading to wake her family or alert the guards. He turned a deaf ear to her. A hand was tucked into his pocket as he walked down the mansion with ease. His free hand swung the book as he walked. He kept walking and just as he had predicted, she uttered the word. Raziel panicked. She sprinted out of her bedroom, barefoot and with just her thin nightgown. The book wasn’t hers, it was May’s and she would fight with her if she found out that her book was missing and that she took it. She doesn’t want any quarrel with May and she has to take the book from him to avoid May’s wrath. Raziel ran outside and was welcomed by the chilly cold and the bright light of the moon. She sighted him walking away and she racked her brain for something to say. Yes, she now knew his name. She had seen it at the royal grandmother’s birthday party. She had forgotten his name until it was forced out of her. "Valhoon, please!"

Please Do Not Eat Me

Valhoon bit down hard on his supposed food and marveled at the sweet flavor that filled his mouth. In the next second, he felt his food go limp in his arms, causing him to stop drinking, and stared at the person he thought was food.

A girl? What the hell is a human girl doing with him and where the hell is this place?

He picked the girl and laid her on the wooden bed as he stood up. Such a weak human. He only took a little sip from her neck and she fell unconscious. He licked his lips as the sweet smell of her blood filled the air making his hunger intensify.

He didn't have his fill and needed more blood, but he knew that drinking more from her might kill her, so he searched around the cave and spotted a cave with lots of doves.

He curled his lips into a faint smile as he made his way toward the cage. Ok getting there, the cage wasn't locked, so he opened it and took out a dove.

He glanced at the white dove for a second in disgust. If it wasn't because of this stupid situation, would he resign himself to drinking the dove's blood?

Still, he had no choice so he twisted the dove's neck and pulled its head off before he raised the bleeding neck of the dove above his head.

He raised his face and opened his mouth to take in the blood. The dove's blood was not satisfying nor tasty, but he has to make do with it for today, so he threw the bloodless dove away and picked another and another until he felt he could get over today with the amount he has drunk.

After having his fill of some of the doves, he looked around the cave and his eyes widened. He walked out of the cave and sighed in disappointment. So he was still on the chase? He thought he was out of this forest. So if he was still in this forest, then what is a girl doing in the middle of the forest? He walked back into the cave and stood close to the wooden bed.

His eyes caught sight of his golden staff on the ground, he picked it up and placed it behind the girl on the wooden bed. Valhoon. Why isn't she waking up? He heard humans wake up from their sleep if you pour them water on their faces and so he took the bowl of water beside the bed. Instead of sprinkling the water on her, her, he poured the whole bowl of water on her face making her sprang up and sat on the wooden bed, trying to get the water out of her nose and mouth.

"Hey you," Raziel yelled, holding her nose and trying to get the water out.

"Is this how you behave after I save you? My pets don't behave like that," she complained.

"Who are you," Valhoon asked.

"I should be asking you that, this is my cave, not yours. I saved you but all you could do was bit...You're a vampire?" She asked dreadfully in realization, touching her neck which he bit into, only to find it sore. Raziel stared at her doves in the cage and she used her eyes to count them. They were supposed to be twenty but she could only see ten.

He took ten doves, what if he eats her too? Her mother has always warned her to stay away from the night creature and if she had known he was a vampire, she wouldn't have brought him into this cave.

She turned to him and blinked.

"I'll leave now, I have to go home," she said, walking to the exit.

"Where do you think you're going? He asked.

Raziel's eyes turned blurry as fat tears started dripping from them. He won't let her leave. He ate her doves and there was a large possibility he would eat her too. She turn to face him and pleaded,

"Just let me leave, I swear I won't come back here again, please don't eat me."

"What are you doing in the middle of the forest?"

"I-I, my mother would be looking for me by now. Please let me leave," she pleaded, her tears flowing like a river. She didn't want to die yet. Although she doesn't like living in this forest, she still does not want to die yet.

"Answer me," he said coldly, making her tears fall more.

"Hmm, we live here. M...me and my family,"

"Why?"

"N..nothing, we just like living here," she lied and he chuckled.

"Lies but I'll let it slide," Valhoon said, walking to stand in front of her and hovering over her. He doesn't have any plan to eat her, not like he eats humans, he only drinks their blood. He was filled after having to drink from the doves. He stared at the redhead girl standing in front of him with her head down and fat tears dripping from her eyes. Such a weakling.

Valhoon sniffed her and his brows drew together. She doesn't smell like a human at all. What is she then? He thought.

His mouth fell open in realization. She's a witch?

But if she truly is one, she wouldn't be crying like a baby and asking him to let her leave, instead, she would have cast a spell so he won't be able to come close to her, at least for some time. Maybe he was mistaken.

"Tell me, where are they?" He asked.

"Who?"

"Your family."

"Oh, at the cabin on the other side of the forest. What about you, what are you doing here? Did you lose your way?" She asked, wiping her tears and raising her head to stare at him but averted her gaze the next moment.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have asked, I'll take my leave now,"

"You're not allowed to leave," Valhoon ordered.

"W-what? Are you going to eat me?"

"No I won't but if you don't follow my instructions, I might just eat you. Now, you don't expect me to stay in a shabby place like this right? Lead the way to your cabin," he ordered and she suddenly crumpled her face, looking like she was going to cry again.

"M-my mother won't let you live with us even for an hour," Raziel said, blinking back her tears.

"Why won't she?"

"She doesn't like vampires and their way of living because they sent us here. They're dangerous too."

"Hmm, I see."

"Don't you have a home or were you sent here too? If you don't have a home, I can let you live in this cave only if you don't eat my pets again," she offered.

"So you want me to live here and take care of your pets? How dare you ask your superior to stay in this shabby place. You should be falling at my feet or leading the way to your cabin," he said coldly, with a hint of annoyance in his voice making her confused. Before Raziel could say anything, a loud noise reverberated through the surrounding, causing both their eyes to grow in size.
