I ran towards Guo Ning as fast as I could, however I was still slow. By the time I reached before him, I couldn't see his hand yet again. So, I decided to go for a strategic retreat. Thankfully, my emotions didn't get the better of me, and I was able to retreat in time.
However, it wasn't just the one punch. The dude followed it up with multiple punches and kicks. However, rather than concentrating on dodging, I focused on simply escaping and that strategy worked just the way I wanted. He kept on missing me because of the slightest difference. And as long as I had that lead, I was fine with it.
Why, you ask? It's because in situations where the big man has to stop attacking and wind up for another attack, just like right now, I can just step back and give out a counter with the force of my entire being. So, I did that. And, I realized the difference between Guo Ning and the Raging thunder. I learned that the opponents that I "faced" up until now are nothing compared to the monsters that I'm gonna face.
Guo Ning was able to completely shut down the counterattack that he didn't expect. He blocked my punch with his palm as if I threw nothing towards him. Ah… This could break anyone's spirit, right? Like, one of your finest moves, blocked like nothing… I understand why many of his duels with people end up being an all out squadron attack towards him. Their individual attacks got blocked by this monster. And they couldn't deal with the humiliation. What cowards! If you get destroyed, you acknowledge their strength, not do shite like that…
Anyway, he is strong. He's of course, way stronger than me by default… but he's probably stronger than most of the warriors that I've seen with my own eyes. I mean, Zhang Wei will get destroyed within seconds. The current Zhangsun Shan will lose against him as well… Might put up a good fight, but putting up a good fight isn't the main thing in fights like this. Well, for the game version of Zhangsun Shan, he might defeat Guo Ning in an hour long slobber knocker. This guy… how come he wasn't mentioned in the game at all… Is he some hidden boss of the game? I mean, he really could be, now that I think about it.
So, my punch was nullified. I stepped back and continued running, hoping for another opportunity like that. By the way, I don't think I got any attacking moves that can cause damage to him. I got Dragon's rage, but that's psychological. I got the silver hair skill, but that just shows me the future. That's the only two skills that I have. And even if I punched or kicked him multiple times, it isn't gonna matter since he's gonna defend that all with relative ease. This monster! I ain't kidding when I say this, I seriously regret not taking up any attack based skills before picking a fight with someone like this. Why didn't the damn golden bast… well, I can't put the blame on Goldy like this… I'm the one who wanted to hone my skills, right? For real though, who would've thought that this guy is that big of a monster? Ah, again… What happened to this guy during the main story line? He would've had a huge influence if he fought in the war…. Then what happened? For such a massive guy to just not attend such a massive war… Did he somehow die by then? But how? Who's powerful enough to kill this guy? Well… Now that I think about it, several masters in the upper echelon could beat this guy, right? I'm just suffering because I'm piss poor in terms of power. But, will I be able to beat him with some power up? Argh… Don't think about what would've happened, think about what you can do right now! I'm gonna beat him with the power that I currently possess. I'm just gonna do it. No questions asked.

Back to the fight… Well, chase would be a better word because Guo Ning's chasing me for at least half an hour now. I did the same thing as before. I ran as fast as I could. Thankfully, my cardiovascular abilities are top-notch because of every running that I did previously. Then when the dude winds for an attack, I counterattack, which he defends with his bare palms. Why am I doing the same thing over and over, you ask? Well, he's just gonna defend my attacks with his palms, right? So… that means my attacks are all concentrated to one point. I'm sure his palm is gonna feel the pain at some point.
It took quite some time, but it finally did work out. Rather than defending with his palm, he started defending with his forearm. I see this as an absolute win! Just kidding. He still defended me just fine. He's not the one losing this fight, I am. What the hell am I supposed to do at this point?
I didn't even notice that I closed my eyes. Maybe that's because the world inside looks exactly the same as the outside. Ah, the freaky skill… I guess I subconsciously activated this skill.
I saw Guo Ning winding his attack. Seems like I'm still running. Since I know that this is the near future, I didn't feel the need to make an effort to run by myself. Anyway, two things happened at this point. In the middle of his windup, Guo Ning stopped doing it and ran towards me. I guess he's innovating at this point. What's more surprising was that I stopped running and turned towards him as well. I don't know what my plan is, but this better be good…
There it was… My hands were surrounded by a bluish transparent aura. This aura then slowly changed shape into a scythe. That's when I realized it. Sculpting the dragon… I used my Qi to cut chisel my core back then. If I was able to do that with my Qi back then, then surely I can cause some injuries in his body with that. I mean, it was able to scratch jade!
It made total sense. Once I opened my eyes, I was running, just as I expected. Then, Guo Ning stopped winding up midway and ran towards me for a surprise attack. I guess I should call upon my Qi now.
I didn't close my eyes this time. I knew how my Qi flowed like it's the back of my hand with all the training that I did… Well, that's kinda like an exaggerated fact, but you get what I mean. I focused my Qi to my hand and then made it seep through to the surface. Then I bent the Qi according to my will, and it ended up looking like a boxing glove, just like in the.... Simulation, let's just call it that right now. Anyhow, I changed the form of the glove into that of a scythe. It looked pretty cool. However, looking cool is not the thing I'm concerned about. The functionality… How functional is it? Does it even work? I would only get the answer for these questions when I slash the man before me.

So, seems like the practicality of using Qi like this is almost nil at this point. It's my fault though. The Qi is unstable. By the time it reached his chest, it was literally wobbling. I guess the experience of making the dragon back in the spirit realm doesn't really work out here. Weird! It's the same person after all. Why the difference then?
Anyway, I didn't recede my Qi scythe. This is a valuable training session for me. How can I mess this up? Who knows, I might end up mastering the art of Qi scythe by the end of it… If it ever ends by me winning that is.
Oh, by the way, I'm down on the floor right now. The scythe I thought would work didn't. Of course, I didn't actually see the attack, just the technique, but it seemed promising, so I was willing to risk it. Well, high risks could give you high rewards or just massive destruction. Well, for me, it was the latter. He ended up hitting me right in the chest, knocking out all the wind off me. I gasped for air. I was coughing as well. I guess there was some blood mixed in it. Ugh, I can taste the metal. Damn it, I just got punched once and this happened! How come this guy isn't affected at all?
As I was thinking that, I slowly made my way up. Up until then, I didn't notice my surroundings… Well, I just couldn't. My eyes were a bit hazy for quite a while. But now that I got up, my eyes cleared up a bit as well. That's when I saw something unexpected. The mighty Guo Ning was on his one knee, coughing out blood.
