The lie that started it all.

The hall was scanty, the chairman with his board of five trusted directors barely occupied the seats on the round table. Mr. Gonzalez, a man in his early sixties headed the meeting as the present chairman of the company, he had assembled the directors to announce his decision to declare his one and only son Jeremy Gonzalez as the next CEO. He knew they wouldn't be happy with his decision but he was more than ready to do anything possible to make his son the next CEO, after all, it was his company, not theirs. Anyone who came into the room could feel the intense vibes coming from all angles of the room.

"I called for this meeting to discuss my retirement. As you know I have only one son and he would take over from me as the CEO as it is his right and he has shown the capabilities to run this company" The chairman, Mr. Gonzalez said.

The hall imploded with murmurs from all around the room none of which sounded happy about the chairman's choice.
