I'm Sleeping Once Again, What's New

Wu Zhitian and Yu Xuelan stared at the figure, who was bowing before them while trembling in fear.

Why was she so afraid of Wu Zhitian?

Yu Xuelan sighed, "I just need to cover my face, right? Do not worry, I'll keep this hood on, but can you please let us stay at the guest house? It's getting quite dark and I promise we'll leave immediately tomorrow morning."

Lin Yuhe gaped at Yu Xuelan's manner and the way she was speaking to her, or rather, she was not used to seeing Yu Xuelan in front of her at all.

The girl hesitated for a while before speaking, "Alright. I'll let you stay at the guest house."

She led the two out of the alleyway and walked back into the guesthouse, where 'Lin Yuhe' handed back the keys to the two. Just as they were about to leave their rooms, Yu Xuelan turned back around.

"You said you were going to explain to me about what you did."

"Ah right, I'll come to your room when the elder goes back home," she said and avoided her eyes.

"How do I know you won't run away?"

"I promise I won't. I'm so sorry," the girl bowed and walked back.

Yu Xuelan thought her behaviour was relatively strange. Whatever the girl was going to explain would probably appear ludicrous or tedious. She had never really cared to dig into this body's past life. As long as she fulfilled what this girl desired, then everything would be fine.

The two walked off to their rooms, but before Wu Zhitian could enter his room, Yu Xuelan dragged him into her room and immediately shut the door. He stared blankly at her, who was glancing outside the lodge, looking left and right to see if anybody was walking past. She pulled Wu Zhitian to the table, and they sat down.

"Sect Master Wu, is it alright if I borrow some spiritual energy?" Yu Xuelan asked.

Without hesitating or sparing a second to think, he raised his palm and pressed his finger onto her forehead, emitting dim light.

The sudden contact of his extremely cold fingertips against her warm skin surprised her. She found it somewhat peculiar that even with this hot weather, his body remained cold.

"Is that enough?" He asked and slowly retracted his finger away.

"Huh? Yeah, yeah, it's more than enough!" She pulled her body back and felt her body heat up like her mind was being surrounded by cotton.

"Master, you're not going to ask why?"

He shook his head and puzzlement smeared across Yu Xuelan's face.

"What if I use this spiritual energy and blow this place up? Or if I go do something irrational?"

He shook his head again, "I know you won't."

Yu Xuelan felt like an arrow of guilt had just pierced through her heart. Normally, cultivators would only share their spiritual energy with others if they had an extremely close relationship or if it was during a crucial time. Otherwise, cultivators usually stayed away from sharing their spiritual energy with others, let alone receiving other people's spiritual energy.

First, it was something personal to them they trained for and second, receiving from someone else would make them seem pitiful and weak.

Hearing him have so much trust in her unsettled her heart. Would he still believe her if she wasn't Lin Yuhe?

"Hm? Do you feel sick?" He asked anxiously.

"Nothing."

Yu Xuelan snapped out of her thoughts and stood back up, brushing down the creases on her robe.

"Was she your twin sister?" He asked.

His sudden question surprised her, but replied, "Yeah, she's my sister, but since I was sold as a slave when I was a child, I was never really that close to her."

"Oh... So is this your home village?" He asked, however, his tone had a hint of mischief.

"Yes, but I can barely remember it, so I wouldn't call it a home," Yu Xuelan explained calmly, but on the inside, she was panicking profusely and wanted him to stop asking questions.

She didn't know why, but she found it extremely hard to lie in front of this boy. No matter how you look at it, this situation is indeed strange. Wu Zhitian knew me as Lin Yuhe but suddenly another girl who is supposedly my twin is also called Lin Yuhe.

She indulged in her train of thoughts before noticing Wu Zhitian was staring at her. She couldn't help but feel anxious that Wu Zhitian may have seen through her lies, though the girl remained silent and stared back into his eyes, not displaying any hints of panic.

"I'll watch over your body," Wu Zhitian offered.

Yu Xuelan, "??"

"You're going to go through your sister's memory, right? Your body will collapse when your soul enters that state, so I'll stay here and watch over you."

Yu Xuelan's body slumped down before letting out a shaky laughter. She was fascinated by how the boy knew exactly what she wanted to do and instead of worrying about whether her actions seemed suspicious.

"Thank you, Sect Master Wu."

"It's alright."

Yu Xuelan already noticed this before, but she couldn't help but mention this once again. Wu Zhitian's expressions and tone of voice were quite interesting that each word he spoke was soft and gentle, that it could calm one's nerves, no matter if they were animal or human.

"Um, are you not going to ask why?" Yu Xuelan asked.

He remained silent and shook his head.

She smiled and took out a talisman, drawing an incantation above it. She closed her eyes while a small light appeared out of the paper.

The light travelled through the door and towards the girl who was still at the counter. After the light entered Lin Yuhe's body, Yu Xuelan immediately fell forwards to the table. Fortunately, Wu Zhitian immediately reached his arm out and caught her head before she hit herself.

He carried her to the bed and sat on the edge of the mattress. He lowered his eyes and fiddled with his fingers, secretly taking brief glances at the sleeping girl, but immediately flinched when he heard knocks on the door.

"Sister, it's me," the fragile voice whispered.

"Come in," Wu Zhitian said.

Upon hearing a man's voice, Lin Yuhe stood on the other side for a few seconds before letting herself in. She saw her sister sleeping on the bed with the white-haired man beside her.

The girl instantly avoided eye contact and prepared to close the door. "Ah, I'll come back later."

"You can stay, she'll wake up soon."

The girl paused her steps with her back still faced towards him. Her breath was gradually growing inconsistent.

"Lin Changying."

His voice was no longer gentle and calming as Yu Xuelan had described it.

Instead, it was cold and it could penetrate through one's character, sending endless shivers down the girl's spine. Sweat dripped down her back and she instantly turned back around, shutting the door behind her.

"How? How do you know my name?"
