The two of them started the battle. Mary dashed towards, holding the wooden sword tightly, while Kaylee stood straight without moving as Mary came closer. The class was silent as the two of them clashed, Kaylee keeping her sword held low. Kaylee and Mary engaged in an intense fight, and Mary seemed to be a grade 5 ability user, judging by her speed.
Kaylee dodged the sword attack swiftly, moving side by side. Suddenly, Kaylee appeared at Mary's back, the speed was unbelievable, and even Master Akira was impressed by the speed. She slashed Mary's back and then placed the wooden sword on her neck. Mary was shocked by the movement. If it were a real fight between her and Kaylee, she would be dead.
Michael, Blake, and Cole opened their mouths while holding each other tightly as they watched Kaylee return to her seat and wave her hands at them. The three of them couldn't believe how the fight ended so quickly. She was currently the strongest among the whole team.
"That's the end of today's class. I would love to see the other students show off their skills one day," Master Akira said as he walked out of the class, holding a sheathed katana in his hands.
All the students followed him, heading towards different directions while discussing the class. Blake, Michael, and Cole ran outside the class with zooming speed. They were running towards the new advanced cinema that had just opened inside the school's activities ground, where students played after class. Luckily for Michael, it was under the school's cover, so he didn't have to worry about the sun.
A few minutes later, the three arrived at the cinema, panting heavily after the long run. They went straight to the counter to get tickets. The ticket was digital, displaying their seat numbers along with the movie they wished to watch. The line was sparse because most students classified the movie they wanted to watch as boring. The movie name displayed on the digital ticket was "My Lovely Psychopath." After purchasing their movie tickets, which cost 20 pes, the three proceeded into the movie hall.
As they approached the cinema, the lobby was bustling with activity, with students queuing at the concession stand to purchase popcorn, candy, and drinks before their showtime. The floors were covered in a plush, carpeted material, muffling the sounds of footsteps as students made their way to the various screening rooms. The walls were adorned with small digital screens displaying movies, showcasing the latest releases and upcoming films.Upon entering the auditorium, the lights had been dimmed, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere. Rows of comfortable, cushioned seats stretched out before them, facing the massive screen at the front of the room.
The screen itself was huge, taking up a significant portion of the wall. The air was cool, thanks to the efficient climate control system, ensuring everyone remained comfortable throughout the duration of the movie. As the lights dimmed further and the opening credits began to roll, a hush fell over the room. Michael was amazed by the view; it was his first time entering a cinema hall. The three rushed to their seats.
"It's been ten minutes and the opening credits are still on. When is the real movie going to start?" Michael said as he glanced at his wristwatch.
A few minutes later, the movie started. The movie lasted for three hours straight. Once the movie ended, they came outside the movie hall, crying. "The end was sad. I can't believe he died in the end, and he was a good dude," Michael said as tears dropped from his eyes. "And a crazy one, he was a good psychopath," Blake added, tears also dropping from his eyes. "Wait, what does a 'good psychopath' mean?" Cole asked curiously.
Michael and Blake immediately stopped crying and looked at Cole after he asked the question. "You know what, let's just head to the library. It's getting late," Blake said to avoid Cole's dumb question.
They arrived at the library a few minutes later. Michael noticed the third-year students seated in the first-year library. There were about four of them. Michael dragged Cole and Blake back, not to enter the library, as his instincts warned him that the third-year students were surely looking for the three of them. The three sneaked away from the library and, after reaching a safe distance, zoomed off to their dorms.
"I think it's best if we go to sleep early," Blake said as they arrived at the dorm room to sleep.
*****
"Stop eating, fools. Training and lectures are starting in five minutes. Get out of the Cafeteria now." The robot announced. Michael, Blake, and Cole stood up from the Cafeteria bench and went to class. They headed to the Lecture class. After quite a while, the class ended.
[Update: Blood saver is low]
[System suggests it should be full.]
"Well, it's not life-threatening," Michael thought as he ignored the system suggestion. The three of them wandered around the school like ghosts for some time. Michael's red hair had gotten thicker, but no one cared because all the students thought he had just dyed his hair red for no reason. Only Blake, Cole, Lisa, and Kaylee knew how his hair turned red, suddenly changing colors like magic. The four classified it as an effect of being a vampire, so they didn't bother. Finally, the three stopped at the arcade, aiming to play the VR game.
They had turned the arcade into their personal training ground. Michael was really waiting for a rematch between him and the other player "Hammerhood," who had certainly defeated him last time.
"Welcome back Sussex67"
"New match" (or) "Continue Match"
Michael selected "Continue Match" so he could look up Hammerhood and challenge him to a battle. The game brought out his list of battles, and Michael grinned when he saw Hammerhood at the top of the list. Hammerhood was currently active, and suddenly, a match request popped up. Hammerhood had challenged him to a match.
Michael immediately accepted the match request. "Time to check out my new upgrade," Michael said with a smile slowly appearing on his face. He was immediately transported to Hammerhood's battle arena, and the countdown appeared.
Once it got to zero, the match started.Hammerhood dashed towards him with incredible speed. This time, Michael could see his movement.
He immediately formed a blood katana and dodged Hammerhood's attack. He had managed to slash Hammerhood's chest, causing a wide and deep wound to appear.
"You have gotten fast and stronger, and I have never seen your abilities before. You're using blood to create weapons," Hammerhood said as he leaped towards Michael again.
"Time to finish this," Michael said, deactivating the Blood Katana as he sprinted towards Hammerhood at incredible speed.
He reached out to touch the wound on Hammerhood's chest, and the blood leaking from it coalesced into a dagger in his hand. With a swift motion, Michael stabbed the dagger into Hammerhood's heart.
"Yes, that's what I call an upgrade," Michael said with a smile, triumphant. "I can't believe it actually worked." The words hung in the air as the reality of his victory sunk in:
"Sussex67 Won."
