High Voltage

Timmons went to the right side of the chair Blitz was in. On that side was a level that showed the numbers of electricity, but it was ranged from 1 to 10. Anne had no idea how many volts were in that machine, or how high it could go.

"Now, let's review our last question from our last session" Jacobi started. "What do we do when someone does a mistake?"

"Hurt them!"

Anne looked at the child in worry as the doctor took his notes.

"Why am I not surprised you would say that? Let's try 2 first", Jacobi said as he gave a hand signal to Timmons to pull down the lever to 2.

And Blitz screamed a bit.

"3 miliamperes sir", Timmons said pulling the level back to 0.

"Hold on", Jacobi turned to the next paper on his clipboard. "Now Blitz, if you see someone hurting another person, what will you do? Will you scold them kindly or will you..."

"Hurt them more!" Blitz yelled at Jacobi, who gave Timmons a hand signal of 5.

Soon the lever pulled down the mechanical chair, and the electricity flowed with Blitz. Currency growing bigger in the glass orb as the boy screamed louder and louder. What was seconds felt like minutes, and Timmons pulled down the lever to 0 once more. Anne felt her gut wrenching as she saw the child not being treated in that chair but tortured.

"40 miliamperes Dr. Jacobi", Timmons said upon inspecting Blitz from a distance. "I'm surprised he can withstand it."

"We've been at this for months. He can withstand it. Even I remember he could go through 60! And that should have been enough for paralysis, but not Blitz. Turn the lever to 9."

"Are you sure sir?"

"I'm certain. I've always wondered how far the human body can withstand electricity, and this is my chance to see it."

Timmons used one of his arms to grasp the lever as Blitz spoke.

"..Family", was what the boy said to Jacobi. "Where....are they?"

"I've told you this multiple times Blitz. I do not know where they are. Don't focus on them but focus on yourself. You're have problems. The world is full of troubled people, that includes you. You're a special case since you're a child, and you need to be fixed. I know what is best. Besides," He whispered in the child's ear. "This experiment will help me reach the high prestige in science, and I owe it all to you." He pulled away and turned to Timmons. "Do it."

Timmons slammed down the lever to what seemed to be the highest electrical current. The glass orb grew an even bigger currency with the blue color showing. Blitz screamed at the top of his lungs. His hands clenching onto the chair all while gritting his teeth. The doctor saw the veins on Blitz’s arms rise, and started to turn a slight fade of blue.

"Stop! Stop it!"Anne plunged into the room and ran towards Timmons, pushing him away and lowering the machine's currency level to 0. She pointed her finger toward Jacobi."How dare you hurt a child! This is not how you treat patients especially if they are children!"

"I can understand your concerns of Blitz", Jacobi. "However I would advise you to turn your attention to somewhere else. He's fine."

"He is not fine! He's hurt, mentally and now psyhically thanks to your so called treatment! Where was this boy's parents? I doubt they gave him to you!"

"They didn't."

"You took him from them?"

"No, I found him, in one of my travels in New York." Jacobi explained. "I saw a child with blond hair. Somewhere between 10 to 13, and he was running around terrorizing people mostly children and teenagers. It was mostly him screaming, but his actions have marked his presence to be terrifying. Apparently he was an orphan, his parents abandoned him. Eventually I had to take him in to Blightworth for treatment. The orphanage previously nicknamed him "Blitz" because he was toying around with a broken lamp in the streets."

Anne kept her piercing gaze on Jacobi while listening to him. "Lies."

"The doctor isn't lying." Timmons added, starting to speak. "The doctor is honest Nurse Anne. I was there when Blitz was first brought in. There was no arrival of anyone claiming to be his parents."

"And you just let the boy be tortured here? Let him go through pain?" she glared at Timmons.

The male nurse was silent. "I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do."

"Timmons knows his place Nurse Anne, and I think you should too." Jacobi said.

"Do not call me 'Nurse' anymore, because I am done here" She took off the upper part of her uniform, revealing a cream shirt. "You disgust me Dr. Jacobi, you have no right to be called a doctor! To think I looked up to you in medical school" She then stormed off to the door but stopped midway, turning to Jacobi.

"Don't think nobody's going to keep quiet of this, someone here will tell other people outside about your treatment of the patients especially Blitz! Mark my words, someone will take Blitz off your filthy hands. He deserves to be in a place with better treatment that this!" She went out through the door, slamming it on her way out of the building.

Jacobi slightly chuckled. "Timmons, please bring Blitz back to his room. I have some business to attend to in my office."

"Yes sir." Timmons said while releasing the now unconsious Blitz from the chair, carrying him to his room.
