I marched along with my men as we got deployed just recently to the situation that the governor had said we had to "Remove." I didn't truly know why, but we marched as I led Company A with about some 50 men armed with our guns at the half-cock.
I kept marching before I got told orders to be the leading front.. I felt horrified as I saw the outskirts of the city seeing blood and limbs spurting with blood, still looking like if a bear had mauled them, though.. those scratches didn't look like a bear...
I nodded though too afraid and petrified from the event.. though I marched with my Company as I told them
"Prepare your muskets at the full cock, charge bayonets and move in formation in 2 ranks and a firing line."
The drum played the order with the flag man being behind the line as we marched through the street before we saw those monsters.. I unsheathed my saber as I raised it up yelling the order.
"FIRST RANK KNEEL, ALL RANKS BEGIN FIRE AT WILL!"
I saw my men firing, fully unloading a whole lead wall into the crowd of cannibles. Then I heard an explosion with limbs flying and blood raining and pouring everywhere. I looked at my men, then back at the horde that came closer before another lead wall was unleashed with bullets flying through the bodies, limbs fell off simply, just like wet clay being wiggled
I saw necks and heads fall so easily or explode on the simple impact. I felt scared of my own self.. my thoughts raced and raced with a million thoughts going over. I didn't feel like a normal man at all... I felt my hand shake in so much fear as my heart raced before.. I snapped back to reality once again.
I raced up to the line as I said..
"ON YOUR FEET, CHARGE BAYONETS, DOUBLE QUICK, FORWARD MARCH!"
The men paced quickly as they started to march forward before I screamed at the top of my lungs as we entered closer saying.
"CHARGE!"
I saw my men charge in. They never felt such rage before with them bashing into bodies, making those cannibles fall so easily being topples over and killed easily. I kept running before I sliced one of their heads. Blood spurted as their head fell.. with the spinal cord wiggling as the head fell down.
I stopped as I saw the rest handle over the cannibles before.. we continued marching.. we heard wails of the innocent being massacared with their pouting of cries and need of mercy. We felt horrible as we heard the wails feeling like if ee needed to hurry up, to go save the poor people, help them, but really save them.
One of my men took out his fife before running to the drummer as they played Yankee Doodle with the men having finally something to ease their minds. I smiled at this pondering on just how we simple mortals can be so cruel, yet so kind at the necessary moments.
I, out of doubt, started to sing Yankee Doodle with the men following along as they found such peace in this moment of singing, to use this to ignore all bad things. We knew we would live, and we would save those innocent people.
