Chapter 7: Only he knows who she is.

Lily brought Subu to the terrace of the building and sat on the bench. Subu sat near her foot and wagged his tail with his tongue out as she stared at her as if waiting for her to say something or at least pat him.

Lily looked at the white dog who was a beast but at that moment, he looked so harmless. No one would say he once fought with tiger and almost killed it. He looked so innocent sitting near her.

She patted his head and stroked his fur to which he made cute sounds and rubbed his head on her. "So you know who I am", she said and laughed to which he barked as if answering her.

She squatted next to him and hugged him while she stroked his fur. "Do you know how painful it got for me in the past? I'm sorry, I couldn't fulfill the promise I made to you all", she said as her heart ached.

She pulled back and looked at him. "Promise me that you won't let anyone know who I am. It should be a secret between us", she said and put her hand forward. Subu stared at her for a while as if thinking something before he put his paw on her palm.

Lily chuckled knowing what this little furry friend must be thinking. In the past, Sam would always bully him and not allow him to be near her too much but now he got a chance. Only he knew who she was, not even his petty and idiot owner.

After spending some time Lily took Subu down and he left with Sanna.

...

Later at night, Lily was working on some documents in her room when her mobile started ringing. She looked at the number and quickly picked it up.

"Yes?"

As soon as she heard what the person on the other line said, her eyes turned unfathomable and cold. It seemed like she was ready to kill any person who would come in front of her at this moment.

She hung up the call and went to the balcony as she stared at the crescent moon in the sky. Her eyes narrowed and a cold vicious smile appeared on her face.

She went to her grandfather's room and knocked on the door. "Come in."

Upon hearing his voice, she opened the door and entered the room. The room had Chinese style decor unlike the other rooms in the mansion. The atmosphere in the room was calm.

Lily looked around and saw the old man sitting near the Chinese style table. He had a chess board on the table. Lily went up to him and sat in front of him. She moved a chess piece and looked at her grandfather.

As the game went on, the atmosphere in the room turned tensed. Both of them were calm, no one could tell by their faces if they were thinking anything or not. Lily suddenly looked up and gave a meaningful look.

"Checkmate", she announced.

The old man smiled warmly and patted her head. "So what is going on in my grand daughter's mind?", the old man asked looking at her. Lily looked outside the window behind the old man and then back at the man.

"There is an auction tomorrow in Glacier Hall. I want the passes", Lily said more like commanded. The old man was impressed by her confidence. He picked his mobile from the table and made a call.

Lily sat patiently and looked at her grandfather.

"Your passes will be sent to you by morning", the old man said to which she nodded calmly and stood up to leave. Just as she turned to leave, he spoke.

"You remind me of someone. The Lily I knew was never like this."

Lily turned to him and asked, "Who?"

"The late wife of that bastard Andres."

Lily let out a chuckle hearing his words. She had met this man a couple of times in the past since Sam treated him well and their families were good friends.

"I took inspiration from her", she said and left the room.

The old man examined the thin silhouette that just walked out of his room and smiled. "I believe you are not inspired but actually her, little girl", he spoke slowly and sighed.

...

In the darkness of night, a well built man laid on the king size bed. His handsome features made him stand out in the crowd. He was way too good looking.

He was the only person in the mega mansion that was worth millions.

The two storey mansion was huge and had all the luxury.

But the mansion that was once filled with love and happiness was now empty. The man lived alone with his daughter who was now at her aunt's place for a stay.

After taking the highest dose of anastasia, he was finally sleeping but it didn't seem to be lasting much. His facial expressions started changing with each passing second. Sweat beads formed on his forehead and his hands clenched in tight fists.

"I'm sorry I can't take it anymore", a girl spoke as her eyes welled up with tears. Sam walked towards her but she stepped back. "Don't... Don't come near me", she cried and started running away in the dark.

"Wifey, don't leave me", Sam said in a broken tone as tears started falling down his cheeks without him knowing. "I can't take it anymore, Sam. It's too much", she cried ran away from him.

As Sam ran to Jen, she disappeared in the darkness but he did not stop. He kept running and suddenly he felt something on the ground. He looked down and saw her bloody body. Her head was bleeding like anything, eyes wide open as she smiled.

She was free now. Gone forever.

She left him. He couldn't save her.

Sam broke into tears as he held her dead body in his arms and cried. The love of his life took her life and died right in front of his eyes and he couldn't do anything.

Sam sat up abruptly while breathing heavily. His heart raced so fast that it felt like it would blast any moment. He ran his hands through his hairs and closed his eyes.

He wanted to laugh at himself. There was time when he blamed people around her who didn't understand Jennifer and couldn't help her in depression but what did he do? She was right there around him but he couldn't understand her.

It was so tough for her that she had to take her life.

He felt that he was no different from all those people around her. He was even more worse than them.

Suddenly thinking of everything, he felt the thirst for blood. His eyes turned so dark and cold that it seemed he would swallow everything just like the black hole. His handsome face turned stoic than ever.

He grabbed his gun and shot on the vase kept on the chest of drawers in front of him. Slowly, he started breaking everything in his room starting from the vases to table and lamps but his movements stopped automatically when his eyes fell on a specific real gold plated photo frame.

His cold eyes that were once thirsty for blood were now gentle. His rough hands gently stroked the portrait of his beloved wife in which she was smiling brightly.

She was the one who taught him to smile but now she was gone and she even took his happiness that she brought along with her in his life. He still remembers how she taught him to care about himself and to smile.

He remembers how she would pat his head when he would get mad at her then rub her nose on his and smile vanishing all his anger.

He can never forget that innocent yet cold face that would only turn gentle just for him. The way he would annoy her then when she would get mad he'd tease her and kiss her and cuddle with her like a baby she was to him.

But what now? It was all gone. She was gone.
