Lena's palms were sweaty, her heart was pounding, the room was dark, and she was both scared and curious about who it was.
She gulped and trembled as the person approached her, closing the distance between them. She caught a glimpse of the body and realized it belonged to a man, but she was unable to identify him.
Lena shuddered as his lips found her ears and bit her, forcing her to push him away in order to break free from his hold.
He pulled her in closer before she could run out, gave her a back hug, whispered something in her ear, and let her go.
She took advantage of the situation and dashed from the room to the studio, locking the door behind her in case he decided to pursue her.
She looked outside and saw no one who looked like him. Relieved, she held her chest and exhaled before sitting down in the chair and beginning to sketch whatever was on her mind.
Lena closed her eyes and painted, using her surprise as a medium. She began with bold, sweeping strokes of vibrant red, reflecting the intensity of the sudden moment when she was held down.
As she continued, her brushstrokes softened, layering cooler blues over the initial red, symbolizing her shift from shock to contemplation.
The colors blended on the canvas, creating a complex image that mirrored her evolving emotions.
Each stroke was deliberate, an attempt to make sense of the experience. The finished painting was a vivid expression of her surprise and the process of understanding it through art.
Lena felt a surge of excitement after drawing the art piece; it looked good to her, and she was relieved.
She packed up her brushstrokes and returned to the classroom to attend the next class.
Lena was bored because Stacey was not present; she planned to check in on her after the class ended. When the bell rang, she was excited, packed her bag, and boarded a taxi to Stacey's house.
She arrived at her destination and rang the doorbell of Stacey's house.
Lena was greeted warmly by Mrs. Smith as she opened the door. Lena asked if Stacey was home, and she thanked her before rushing to Stacey's room.
"Lena, what brought you here?" Stacey inquired, delighted to see Lena.
"I heard you were sick and came to check on you."
"Oh, it is just menstrual cramps, nothing serious; how was school today? I am sure you missed me all day," Stacey wiggled her brows.
Lena tried to deny it, but Stacey saw through her. Lena told Stacey about what happened at school today, and she did not know who the man was, but he looked familiar.
Stacey became concerned and advised her to be cautious.
"I found out Adam was our senior; I assumed he was a student, but he is actually studying business administration at an Ivy League university," Stacey explained to her.
"How do you know all of this? Then, what was he doing at our school?"
"I have my ways, and I heard he came to resolve an issue."
Lena thought to herself, "There are far better ladies in his school than me, so how can he like a college girl like me?"
Lena was snapped back to reality when her phone rang. She looked at who was calling and saw that it was her mother. She put the phone down and prepared to ignore the call for the time being.
Mrs Smith entered with a tray of apples and juice; Lena stood up and took it from her, thanking her.
Lena's phone rang once more. Stacey urged her to answer, so she sighed and did so.
"Hi, Mom. "I hope nothing is wrong?"
"We are having dinner with your new family tonight, and I have sent the dress you should wear to your house. Make sure you dress nicely and apply some makeup; it is almost time to start preparing for dinner."
Amanda ended the call with, "A car will come to pick you up by 7 p.m., so please be ready before that time, I love you dear, bye."
Lena laughed because her mother ended the call before letting her finish speaking.
"Umm, Stacey. I need to leave. I have something important to do with my mother; see you at school tomorrow."
"Okay, baby girl, thank you for your visit; goodbye."
Lena said goodbye to Mrs. Smith and made her way to the apartment. When she arrived, she saw the exquisitely designed emerald green silk gown lying on her bed.
It had an off-the-shoulder sheer sleeve, a cinched satin waist, and a sweetheart neckline adorned with crystals.
A low-cut back with sparkling buttons adds an alluring touch of refined elegance, and the floor-length skirt cascades gracefully.
She freshened up, put on the dress, and applied makeup. She looked at her watch and saw that the car was going to arrive soon.
When she heard a horn outside the house, she gave herself one last check and left.
Her mouth dropped open when she saw the Rolls-Royce waiting for her; the driver unlocked the door, she got in, and they drove to their destination.
The vehicle pulled up to Le-Bernardin, one of the popular restaurants that is well-known for its seafood. She was amazed by the sight of the restaurant as soon as the driver opened the door for her.
A waiter approached her and asked for her name; she gave it to him and he showed her to a room as she became enthralled with the interior design.
Lena saw her mother laughing with her boss, Chris, as soon as she walked into the room.
She was dumbfounded and thought to herself, "Oh no, this can not be possible, how did she end up being the wife of one of the top billionaires and he is going to be my Dad."
She excused herself and asked a waiter for the restroom; he showed her the way, and she unintentionally entered the men's room.
When her head landed on a chest, she was startled to see Adam when she looked up to see who it was.
Adam grinned as soon as he saw her; he could not take his eyes off of her gorgeous appearance and the impeccable fit of the dress.
He looked into her beautiful blue eyes, then moved his focus to her lips.
He then drew her in close and gave her a kiss. In shock, Lena's eyes grew wide.
