Chapter 45: The Complicated Circle

After confirming the three men were dead, Zhang Cheng searched their bodies, finding keys for the villa and the storeroom. He left the corpses laying there temporarily before entering the villa. The villa was unquestionably massive. His own home was just 45 square meters. When he lived at Tang Ying's home, he thought that was large. But stepping into Xu Chao's villa gave him perspective—making Tang Ying's place seem tiny by comparison.

The villa's living room housed a massive, hundred-inch-plus television. There were leather sofas, a crystal coffee table, a gold-rimmed fireplace, and a row of fish tanks teeming with different varieties of dragonfish. For a moment, Zhang Cheng experienced a sense of awe. He recalled that a hundred-inch television was worth three to four hundred thousand yuan. What he didn't know was that the tank for the red dragonfish alone costed more than two million, not to mention the place where he now stood had a price per square meter over twice that of urban housing.

After a quick tour of the first floor, not thoroughly inspecting it, but just checking for the presence of people, Zhang Cheng ascended to the second level. The second floor also boasted a large hall along with a gym and a leisure area that resembled a Japanese internet café. The room was filled with rows of computers, running treadmills, stationary bikes, chest press machines, deltoid fly machines, lat pulldown machines, and more. It almost seemed like a private playground. No one was there.

On the bookshelves were a variety of reading materials highlighting firearms, automobiles, and vehicle customization. Some magazines were still in their wrapping, presumably for collecting. The second floor also contained a medicine room, well-stocked with a range of drugs.

Having quickly surveyed the second floor, Zhang Cheng climbed up to the third floor. Both the first and second floors had no sign of a surveillance room. Hence, he guessed it might be on the third floor. Once on the third floor, Zhang Cheng realized these were primarily residential rooms.

Every room was equipped with a computer, various game consoles, and a television. Every room boasted an independent bathroom and was significantly spacious. Truth be told, each room was larger than the entirety of Tang Ying's house.

Moreover, the rooms were fashioned meticulously, resembling a presidential suite. The presence of used condoms in the trash cans of every room and different bras and panties scattered around suggested a rather promiscuous lifestyle. Some of the bras even had different sizes, evidently belonging to different women, hinting at occasional threesomes or foursomes—possibly even orgy situations.

Not wanting to contemplate further, Zhang Cheng continued his search. Finally, he found a sign hanging on a door which read, "Call me when the food's ready," and he opened the door.

When Zhang Cheng entered, Wang Lele was so engrossed in her game that she didn't even notice him. Zhang Cheng glanced at the computer monitor in front of Wang Lele, which displayed a live feed of the villa's surveillance. If Wang Lele had paid attention to the monitors, it wouldn't have been easy for Zhang Cheng to succeed.

Suddenly Wang Lele noticed a figure appearing on the monitor. Suspicious, she turned her head towards Zhang Cheng asking, "Who are you?"

But without another word, Zhang Cheng raised his gun to her head.
